I just wondered what everyone thinks of the humour of the game. Mixed in with the story of deceit, betrayal and a fight for survival and unification of all the different factions there is a wicked and understated sense of humour in the game too.
I really can not remember playing a game where i would willingly stop playing just to watch the banter between the other NPC's in your party, or when the dialogue between companions was occassionally bitingly cruel but also (more often than not) twinched with a really good sense of humour even from some of the characters you may not otherwise expect witty comments from.

I understand Shale and Zevran are best at the humour. I'll be uusing them next.

Morrigan's ragging on Alistair just got annoying after about the hundredth time or so that she did it.

Zev setting up Morrigan for a bet.
Lil calling Sten a Softie!
Dog running away with Wynne's staff.
Shale calling Wynne fussy.
Sten's lack of filling in details.
Yep; luv this game!

Oghren, pretty much anything he says is gold! Awesome writing. I too would sometimes sit and wait before traversing territories so the characters could finish they're barters. It seems like no one likes Morrigan at all.

Oghren teasing Alistair about his relationship with the Warden never fails to make me laugh.

IDK how many times I've gone from Janar's to the Proving Grounds and back again just to hear all the banter on the Orzammar bridge

They're all pretty funny combos with the exception of wynne, al and leli (a few chuckles but not like the rest)
Ogren, Zev, Shale and Morrigan bring life to any group. They provoke other members.

Ohgren, Zevran and Sten are hilarius. Of course you do have to get used to Stens humour.

As I recall the end of the conversation....
Morrigan:"I sense his growing terror... which will make the loving all the sweeter."
Carol: "So you wanted to get across to the Tower? We can go now; right now; NOW!!!"

I wish there was a way for Bioware or even player made people to add more lines into the game... It made the game much more enjoyable..

Shale and Sten drooling all over each other--seriously didn't expect that.
Morrigan and Alistair's bickering kind of got old, so I didn't really like that.
Wynne and Zevran--magical bossum was pretty funny.
Oghren and Alistair are just hilarious--Oghren: "You know what you need..." Alistair: "A pair of nose plugs?"
Alistair confronting LI's about romance was pretty funny.
Leliana and Zevran make a pretty good chat couple.

Lloyd - "Well, I'm here, I'm cold, and I'm certainly going to die. I hope you are as amused as Murdoch!"
I ask him every time....

Allistair and Wynne at the end of Return to Ostagar made me grin.
Wynne: It wouldn't be the first time I've awoken with a younger man next to me in bed.
Allistari: All all women as evil as you, Wynne?
Wynne: Just me Allistair, just me.
You can feel Wynne smiling the whole conmversation.

I also like the opening dialogue of RTO, when Alistair begins by insinuating that Wynne is an expert on feeling old.
And I just discovered that a female Warden can get Bann Teagan to kinda blush. MARMALADE!!

I personally favor Shale!
I went through hell to get him downloaded on a friends behest (one technical issue after the next)
it all paid off in one single moment, barely having gotten out of the village with Shale spotting a chicken, you can just SEE him turn disgusted, the following screen-turn with the loud "BOK" In the background along with stone hitting ground, group turns around and sees Shale standing there in a pool of blood following up with the most carefree shrug have EVER seen in my entire life! It had me laughing 'til i cried, about 10 minutes straight!
When I then completed the campaign for the first time I started over and realized I had a little crowd in the back of my head going "WE WANT SHALE!! WE WANT SHALE!!"

I have only seen this once in Ostagar, but Alistair and the Warden speak of Cailan, and that under no circumstance will Alistair wear a dress and dance. This was amusing, but when Duncan *sighs*, I lost it....

Oh, the humor in this game is awesome. Some of my personal favorites that I haven't seen already listed (because I totally second everything listed already):
1. Oghren falling down drunk. I was in camp going from person to person just chatting them up. And everyone's doing their usual thing... you know, just kinda standing around or occasionally crouching by the fire... when out of nowhere, I spot Oghren swaying around and then falling flat on his back with a loud crashing of armor. I completely lost it. Just totally started laughing out loud and couldn't stop for the longest time. Heck, I still laugh out loud everytime it happens. He may be gross and crude, but he's pure comedy gold in my book.
2. Some of the responses you can illicit out of the Secret Companion back at camp are great, too. He's got a lot of cheek and can be quite sarcastic, which is lovely. Love that he goads you into trying to insult him (and that he'll teach you some new curses if yours suck) and also literally LOLed in real life when choosing the option of "Let's just avoid each other" and he starts going on a wonderful extended sarcastic remark about building a moat down the middle of the camp to divide your side and his, etc.
