1. The ability to WALK NORMALLY. The "limp walk" is my most hated thing in ME2.

Alright I would like to append this into my list. I keep imagining Shepard walking like Gary Oldmen from Fifth Element. A metallic clank on every other step. Animators don't make him/her gimpy. You can rebuild him/her better than before. You have the resources. You have the technology and you claim to have spent billions which I guess is due to inflation, but... yeah that's it. Thanks Golden Rose for pointing this one out.

Well there is two ways oyu can look at it Messy.

Progamers eye: It's more easy to give Shepared a limp because we can control Joker later, so it's more quicker to give Shepard a limp walk.

Lore: In lore, Shepard got injured at the start of the game(he limps while the Normandy is attacked and we know he got hit my explosions and such. Not to mention he woke up way before he was ready, thus he has some side effects. The walking never bugged me because it made sence now.

Honestly, I've never thought of that first part. One animation sequence to cover both. Excellent resource usage. But the skeleton rigging for Joker is still different so they are still two separate animations correct?

As for the lore part:
Wilson: "Listen we've already spent billions on Shepard, but... for no additional charge we can correct his limp."
Miranda: "And have Shepard rival my perfect symmetry?"
*Miranda glares at Wilson*
*Wilson leaves vexed*
Wilson: "If only I were in charge..."
*Wilson twirls his evil mustache, chortles*

The Cone of Death

Seriously, Shepard is an elite Marine. His performance in a firefight should be based on his advanced weapon training, not some entity (the player) who doesn't even exist within the setting.

I want stat-driven aiming back.

True messy but there is still a imp in both of them, Bioware just took the lazy part, as for the dialog, LOL. Remember, Shepard was not ready when he woke up, since he woke up early he has some side effects, limping is one of them. I don't mind it, if they fix it in ME3 I won't mind, but I also won't care if it's left in.

Agreed. Not being able to customise my team mates' armour was one of the things I didn't like about ME2.

Yes because using a sniper at the start of ME was so fun! <_<

The Stat driven system still relied on player skill. Removing such an emphasis makes the game more comfortable.

Kraidy, it was the challenge! Especially with a level 2 infiltrator on hardcore! Let's see how long we can last using just the sniper on those husks!.

Hey Whatever Works for you! LOL bad joke.

Never really used the melee attacks, but Kaidan is dead useful on Eden Prime. IMO.

All you needed was throw in that situation. After playing ME 2 and going to create a new character in ME 1 I was having real hardcore problems with the attack drones in the beginning. I mostly play Infiltrators and I could not hit them for the life of me.

I love crouch! Even better, you don't have to hold the joystick down to remain in crouch!

I also miss the elevators, squad interaction, Liara, story progression, open world feel of the space exploration. Singularity and Lift were simply awesome. I miss Lift. Kaidan. Liara.

Ok, stopping now!

Huh  that's how the cover system was in ME. In ME2 just press A and you are in cover. Way better then the system in ME or are you being sarcastic Shav :P

The only time I missed Crouch in ME 2 was when I went through the game without using cover on Normal/Hardcore

Crouch was a must in ME because of the cover system. ME2 has a better system that does not need crouch, does it is useless now.

What I miss the most:

First: focus on RPG instead of action. I wouldn't have bothered buying the first Mass Effect if it had only been a shooter game. Sure, everyone enjoys action, but even though the quality did improve, I think they should have balanced it better in ME2, it seems more action-oriented than RPG-oriented.

Second: the Mako. Yes, I always enjoyed the Mako and every single aspect of its gameplay and missions (and I do mean EVERY aspect, including the long exploration and special maneuvering in order to get out of a deep chasm with slippery walls). I never understood why so many people complained about it, and I'm not one of those "Hammerhead sucks, bring the Mako back because it sucked less" people. They are different vehicles, and I think it could be nice if, instead of replacing the Mako with the Hammerhead, you could have them both and take one of them with you depending on the mission.

Third: I also agree with the topic starter's idea regarding realistic armor and equipment for vacuum and/or hazardous environment. And if Miranda is an officer who can lead people in a battle, she should know high heels are a bad idea.

Fourth: the elevator talks. I always found them a very interesting and creative way to avoid the loading screens, and I did enjoy them (actually, I looked forward to them whenever I knew I was gonna have to use an elevator).

Now, the things than I still liked but I can let go:

-Natural walking. I'm not talking about the limp, I actually liked that. What I mean is that they made the walking in ME2 unnaturally precise. If you turned around in Mass Effect 1, it looked and felt way more natural. Also, the way Shepard stops after running; happens instantly in ME2, but it took a few more steps to stop in ME1.

-The ability to remove helmets during the mission

-Not having a very large amount of skills setups available.

- Inventory system
