For that matter, didn't Shep learn to walk, like, 26, 27 years ago?  Why am I responsible for that too?  Sheesh.

You're not responsible for that.  You just tell Shepard where to walk, but the actual walking Shepard handles on his own.

The shooting, ideally, would work the same way.  You tell Shepard who to shoot, and Shepard shoots him.

The shooting pretty much does work the same way.  I tell Shep where to shoot with the mouse/right thumbstick (this also takes care of the 'who to shoot' part).   I tell Shep where to walk with the keyboard/left thumbstick.  The only real difference is that I can also tell Shep when to shoot with the right mouse button/trigger.  But all of the aiming/shooting/gun cocking animations happen just as automatically as the walking/running/changing direction ones do.

What he said. :)

This is why Simulators are not built like that

Mass Effect Kinect will be the greatest game EVARRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Just don't play it in the Shepard N7 sweater or it won't be able to detect you.

I swear every thread on here manages to either make me look like a NZE or a racist. I hate it.

Also I miss the "Can we really be sure that Quarians aren't Naked?" thread. Bring it back Bioware. You know it to be scientific fact

Just a fyi.

It did have some helpful tips, I would bet that Thresher Maw got a giant book deal out of that.

Also I miss the Filter ME 1 had. The least Bioware could do is give us multiple options for the filter.

I'll tell you what I miss, is Admiral Hackett.

I never knew what I was really doing on N7 missions most of the time because I never really got briefed beforehand. And I liked getting briefed by Hackett. I felt like I was on Star Trek getting a mission from Starfleet. The plots of the missions Hackett gave you were better, too.

And I miss Hackett's voice.

After your post I know what I want. I just want to leave that creepy Cerberus behind and rejoin Alliance =] I still remember these words from the final scenes of ME1: "Commandor - we are picking up reinforcements! / It's the Alliance! Thank the Goddess!" I want to be a hero again :crying:

That would only really be true if we could trigger the weapons while paused.

Without that, Shepard's ability to aim and fire accurately is based on the player's ability to aim and fire accurately, and that doesn't make any sense within the Mass Effect setting.  Shepard should ALWAYS be a good shot.  Shepard should NEVER be a usless spaz.

Also that isn't even how the original ME worked. The original is pretty much the same as ME 2 except you have stat based accuracy so when you aimed at something the cursor would waver and you had to ballpark when to fire in order to pull off a shot. In ME 2 you hit what you aim at.

Later in the game, you could be pretty damn sloppy about it, but I never really considered that a "feature".  Once you get all the mods, uber-weapons, and skill trees filled, it's rather silly.  It gets completely absurd if you then set the aim assist to max:

Image IPB

DIRECT HIT, COMMANDER!

That's a pistol, BTW, and Shep here doesn't even have that skill maxed.

No universal cooldown, what's the point in having Warp and Overload if you can only use one?

I like universal cooldown, mostly because they're pretty short (hell, Throw's usually recharged by the time the previous one hits something), whereas in ME1 the cooldowns are on such long timers that you can usually only use them once per fight..

I wish we could equip teamates with armor.. I'd also like the old leveling up system. I don't understand why they removed that, just because some fool doesn't want to play more than one time to get an achievement doesn't mean they have to dumb down the leveling system. If the problem was that some achievement **** didn't want to play ME one more time to get an achievement then why not just remove the achievement instead of removing the leveling system. Beside how could anyone not want to play ME1 over and over again.

I also miss the old NG+, the whole point was to make the player feel like an actual Spectre candidate not the new guy with a peashooter. ME2's NG+ offers a "challenge" so it's not as fun and you also have to planet scan because you don't get all the upgrades back. I wanted to play without worrying leveling up or having to look for upgrades.

I lost at my only successful game in X-Com because of that.  Now I can't keep myself, Tom Cruise or anyone I name after a celebrity alive much past after 2 missions.  Damn old games and their lack of explanation of game mechanics

Miss the old guns that didn't require thermal clips. Seemed so more futuristic.

Also equipping teammates with armor, omni-gel, o and none of the "end of mission" non-sense where i automatically get zoomed back to the ship. Also missed landing on planets and such exploring and intentionally hunting down and killing thresher maws. Sending them to their much deserved 9th circle of -

What... I'm an lone Survivor. >.>
