By ME3 will explain it you know theres this thing called foreshadowing, alluding towards something to happen in the future. Something appears vague now in ME2 but it adds to the mystery. I don't see why thats insulting to the writers if they intended it. Look at Star Wars, Harry Potter or some other series. We constantly have things appearing vague to be brought up as important and fully explained later.

Hell play Metal Gear Solid that game series takes the cake for taking what looked small and insignificant and turning it into the most major plot point ever. Besides that its a sequel hook anyways. A cliffhanger ending leaving the gamers wondering "I want to know more about that human reaper and what the motivation was behind it" people, authors, game developers, movie directors, etc do it all the time.

And you've yet to show my "excrement."

The insult is to the writers because people who think this way have simply dismissed any questions as foreshadowing.
Q: "Why/how/when did this happen?"
A: "Foreshadowing for the sequel."

That means every mistake, hole, problem, etc., will have to be explained in the sequel.  Which I will guarantee you, will not.  What you should be looking at is the narrative by itself; sure, some elements may be presented in a later story.  However, foreshadowing exists within the context of the existing story.  To say it is something else is to be extremely accepting that the Narrative Can Do No Wrong.  Which is insane, considering the sheer number of holes and questions there is.

Call it for what it is: poor writing.  Make your opinion actually mean something.  Don't brush it under the rug as "don't worry, it'll get better, you just wait and see."  And you know what?  I might just get better.  The colossal cluster**** that was ME2 may be completely explained in ME3.  But till then you're left with massive questions that lead to nowhere.

Equally insulting is the "bridge" argument, as if ME2 was some kind of stable foundation to launch ME3 into...something.  Honestly, after ME2, anything is possible in the final installment.  All we know is that it'll involve dark energy and Shepard.

I must say though, it looks too much like a Chiss with it's completely white eyes. Although, I can see where you're going with this. Although, to think that Shepard is an Asari in the Alliance military in ME1 baffles my mind, lol.

I had to google Chiss since I'm not really a SW fan.

He is half human and was orphaned on a colony world in Alliance space. It was natural for him to join the Alliance military and they were happy to recruit him for his amazing talents and abilities. The Asari are not sure what to make of him but he does get hit on by all the hot babes, so it's all good.

I think someone got confused somewhere along the way.

I'm not sure what happened between ME1 and ME2 that made someone think they'd be getting Tau Zero, but Mass Effect has never been any harder than Foundation.

You know I wasn't the one to call out you showing "excrement" just saying.

I wouldn't call Mass Effect 2 poor writing. You seem to be the only one really thinking this out of the millions who bought it and are happily playing. I have no problems with the plot, a few holes but every game has their flaws and no it isn't false hope thinking it will get better in the sequel. It's not getting "better" in the sequel its getting "explained".

Quite frankly I don't know what your trying to prove with these pointless arguments you throw around. So far all you've managed to do is make a lot of people think your arrogant whether you have a point to prove or not. I say just chill out and have a banana.

Could you be more specific?  Cause I've considered everything you've written.  And what I've written.  And if you think, I need, to start playing and analyzing other games...for some reason...before I have the authority to express my opinions on another title (let's just maybe perhaps I don't know call that Eass Mffect Deuce), is absolutely insane.  There is no reason to this.  This is your own personal bias.

Apparently, if someone has a dissenting opinion as yours, and isn't your style/type of fanboy/fangirl, then their opinion is irrelevant, is simply whining, or is some other , beeause you simply can't understand that.

Thanks for proving to me I'm wasting my time on your small, petty world view of a person and their ability to express their opinion on a piece of media.

Someone who watches one movie in their entire lifetime and declares it either the best or worst movie ever made to other people doesn't have much clout to speak their opinion in the first place. That leads to personal bias. Specifically on a small, petty world view on a piece of media and your ability to express your opinion on the people who made that piece of media.

Do these millions understand writing?

If the main plot of the story has collapsed, that'd be poor writing.  If 99% of the story is side-stories, well, that's a very peculiar way of telling stories within stories, and I would call that extremely poor composition, aka, poor writing.

I make the distinction between plot and story.  As the story is stand alone, it's there.  As a sequel, it has fallen into the abyss.

As a plot, well...:wizard:

This is completely illogical.  If you only experience one thing, and not a second, it is impossible to state that the thing is any better or worse than something else, because there is no basis for comparison.  You might say certain elements of that thing are good/bad/better/worse, because those elements could be outside of the movie (like cars) that the reviewer experienced.  But you're not talking about experiencing a movie. You're talking about me reviewing other games.  As if I need to review others in some other manner.

And I'm not even reviewing a game.  I'm analyzing the plot.  Oh?  Oh.  Plot Analysissssssss.

Either way, this is not me, so still, I've no idea what drivel you're spouting, as usual.  Although to be fair, you were okay the first few months.  Now it's just "smudboy has posted?  I must now respond with crap and then make up some retarded reasoning to justify t--GRR SMUDBOY!"

That's exactly the point. How can you state so much without a basis for comparison? Were you expecting Mass Effect 2 to be a book to read?

Oh so this is an ongoing mental issue of yours?  Or maybe some kind of massive rationalization to defend yourself, that other people's differing opinions are completely wrong, because?

Yet you can't stop talking about one game. Broaden your criticism a little bit, it would help.

Because that "opinion" applies to more than one BioWare game, yet people will complain about only one of them?

I would think the only reason that you're still here is that you couldn't find another game that meets the excessively high standards you set for them. I doubt you ever will.

Thanks but I'm on a ME2 forum and that's enough time for me.  I critique everything I come across.  I'm talking toothpicks.  To say otherwise is a poor deduction on your half.  Yes, I have logical deductive thinking skills in things aside from ME2.

*pet pet*  Go go Ecael deductions!

Wtf is this?  I'm critiquing ME2, in an ME2 forum.  I like to make analysis of things ME2 because I want to.

Suddenly making new criticisms on other things won't change my opinion on ME2.

Unless you're just asking me to broaden my horizons?  Hey, buy me some tickets to Hawaii.  I'll be happy to complain about virgin Pina Coladas or some **** so you can actually have a real argument with me, instead of attacking my "lack of experience" or some ****.

You know I'm here for you baby.  And your Weirding Ways. Make more insane Photoshop things!  God that's awesome.  I'll go do some character analysis of something.

...of ME2!
