Hey, Winzorz.

I can tell you from personal experience that it's working correctly on both sides. I don't know why Valve separated the two (perhaps so you can install DAO without Awakening), but nothing is amiss. What you do is load up Dragon Age: Origins (either way works), and access Awakening via "New Game", as it will give you the choice between the base game and Awakening.

I hope that helps.

It doesn't list itself there to the best of my knowledge. If you want to run Awakening, you have to click "New Game" in Origins, and if it works (which it should) then you will have a choice between the base game or Awakening.

I've also heard you can run it via the "Other Campaigns" menu option, but I've not tried it.

Well get this: I installed patch 1.03 and got a failure to launch due to a misconfiguration error message. I got the same message when I installed Awakenings, which has the 1.03 patch in the xp itself. All it tells me to do in the message is to reinstall and retry.........5 times later....same problem and same message. I'm about ready to tell Bioware where they can put their expansion.

I couldnt even get a decent answer about how to resolve the issue from their live chat techs. Go figure.

I'm beginning to get the feeling Bioware and its affiliates really dont give a rat's ass. I could be wrong.....been there before.

I think the only lanuage the techs can read is c++. I never had a problem with any of the Baldurs gate series but had a similar problem early on with Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2. I just wish I could remember how that problem was resolved.

I just cant figure out what is causing the misconfiguration. The launch window comes up but when I click on play is when the error message comes up, so I'm not even into the main menu page yet.

I even tried removing my pre-patch pc's and saved games...to no avail.

Readership on all message forums similar to this one is way down in summer.  This is strictly User to User here; official help is on the EA Help Site.  (http://help.dragonag...?p_sid=lAZgGZ4k)  This time of the year, many messages can end up with no useful answers here. Personally, due to the comparatively "narrow" version of Broadband that my provider offers in their affordable family plan, I don't buy any DLC online.  I wait for a hard copy collection.

So, while I can help on some things, problems with DLC isn't included, sorry.

Have you tried Steam support or their forums? Not that Steam support is all that great, as my own experience with Jade Empire will attest (shudder-- I had to go with an "unorthodox" solution to my problem)...

To access Awakening, follow the instructions in this thread on the Steam Dragon Age forum.

You have done the basic troubleshooting process right? Make sure your windows is up to date, updated all drivers etc. Properly logged into Steam/EA/Bioware servers and let it update your content by clicking downloaded content then letting it refresh. Youve installed Origens then Awakening then the 1.04 in that Order? Youve looked at the sticky help threads here, read the EA support issues, and the steam forum stickys for thsi issue and tried all the suggestions in those threads? Your hard drive is deframented and the download for Origens/Awakening is not corrupted hopefully.

Lots and lots of variables.
