Cerberus installed, connected, but there are no free content downloads to be found

I purchased this game for my PC over a week ago, and entered my Cerberus code, which claimed it would give me access to additional content, like Zaeed.

I've read that Zaeed can be found in Omega, but he's not there.  As far as I can tell none of the "free downloads" associated with the Cerberus network are installed in my game?  When I am at the main game menu I can see that the Cerberus network is "connected."  There are 8 news items.  And with Zaeed, for example, there is a note claiming that Zaeed is "Now available for free download from Cerberus network."  I don't see any way to initiate that download.  If I click on the "New Content Available" option from the main menu, I get directed to a BioWare Checkout webpage, but the only item there is the Overlord Pack.

Can someone tell me how to fix this, so I can experience this additional game content?

******
On a less important note, I purchased Dragon Age immediately after it was released, and entered my code for the Blood Dragon Armor.  Should I still be able to obtain the Blood Dragon Armor in Mass Effect 2?  I don't have it available in my game, if so.

Perhaps I should also point out that if I click on the downloadable content from the initial game menu screen (the one that comes up immediately after clicking on the Mass Effect launch icon) a BioWare Social Network Mass Effect 2 Downloadable Content Webpage is launched, which contains several entries, including the Cerberus Network, with an option to "Buy Now." Perhaps this page simply doesn't have the intelligence built in to exclude already purchased content... or perhaps this is a clue in figuring out the problem.

Any assistance that can be provided on this is MUCH appreciated! I want Zaeed, and I want to drive my hover tank!!! (plus see all the missions and content that it looks like I'm going to miss if I don't get this figured out)

Hmm, I might have found a way to download this stuff manually. I'm trying that now, and will report back as to whether or not this works.

EDIT -

Okay, here's what I'm doing.  I went to my Profile on the Bioware Social Network, went to the Profile menu and selected "your registered game promotions."  Once there, I could see all of my Dragon Age promotions... and... all of the Cerberus promotions AND EVEN the Blood Dragon Armor for ME2.  The page itself looks to be Dragon Age centric, as it refers to using DAZIP to install the content, but I just ignored that in this case.  The ME2 content is actually a self extracting executable file, so I just clicked on each DLC and installed it.  I actually have 2 more that are downloading, and once that is done I have installed these, I will launch the game to ensure that the content is available.

Thanks to all the, err... to me... for the assistance! Image IPB

Thanks Coltrane. You might not have seen my previous post in time, but that's what I'm doing. This looks promising, but I suppose the question should still be posed as to WHY I'm having to do this all manually. In Dragon Age downloading content was automatic and painless. In Mass Effect 2, for me at least, it's anything but.

So, if/when anything else is added to the Cerberus Network, will it also show up on that page? Or is it stuff we'll have to pay for? I'm still a bit lost on that. I know non-CN stuff will be paid content, but once we have the CN anything that's added to it gets put in automatically, right?

I ask because I just got the game recently myself (was waiting until I'd finished ME1 to hold off the temptation to start without having a character to import, haha) and nothing has been added in the time I've had the game.

Do I "run" the programs, or do I place the files somewhere?

Having a similar problem myself. I am connected to Cerberus, have my game registered, and I still have nothing in the Profile: Your Registered Game Promotions location. Not sure what's going on.

Under profile: My Games, I only see Dragon Age, but when I tried to register Mass Effect 2, I am only given the option of de-registering (which makes sense, because I have already registered it.)

I must confess, I am completely baffled. I'd like to get the free DLC, but it doesn't look like I can. Is anyone else having this problem?

Did you use the same email address for both the social.bioware.com and Cerberus accounts?

More simply, is the email address logged into Cerberus in-game the same one you use when you're posting on here?

Re:Seraphstrong

I believe so. I created my Cerberus account (entered the promo code) while I was logged on to social.bioware.com, then restarted Mass Effect and all the Cerberus updates, news and DLC were streaming on the screen. I just can't get any of the free downloads. To be honest though, I wasn't aware I needed to provide a separate email address for Cerberus Network.

Where do you do this, or where is it displayed? (And thanks for the quick help, by the way.)

(Edit: I actually just realized that I had entered a different email for Cerberus. Thanks for pointing that out. Still trying to find out how to change it, though. Or should I just change my bioware social email, instead?)

Start ME2.

Select Extras.

Select Options.

Select Online.

Change the auto login feature to "no."

Restart the game.  Press the "connect" button on the Cerberus Network laptop.  Enter the email address and password you use for social.bioware.com.  The social.bioware.com email address (your "EA Account") should match the email address you used to register the Cerberus Network card.

If they are both the same email address and you continue to have problems viewing your registered DLC... I'd hate to say contact Bioware/EA, but you might have to.

1) Please register the game on the forums. This is not an accusation, but given the spate of users with illegally downloaded copies coming to the forums asking for help, forum registration is the only way we can be sure we are dealing with a legit copy. Illegally downloaded copies include hacked and modified files which could be either corrupt, or full of malware. Once its registered, we will be happy to help.

2) Please post your specs as per this thread: http://social.biowar...6/index/4795299

It's nice to see that this thread has helped a good handful of folks.

I'm disappointed to see that the inferior content distribution system of ME2 has made its way to Dragon Age 2. I mean, who at Bioware/EA thought this cumbersome manual process was a better idea than the fluid, automated process we had in Dragon Age: Origins?

Answer: probably no one. More than likely the automated process required more testing cycles to certify, and since Bioware/EA have gone scissor happy with Dragon Age 2, they decided to snip, snip, snip this one out too.

Getting off topic a bit, Dragon Age 2 is still a great game, but any more snipping and it would be only a skeleton of a great game. It manages to just avoid skeleton status in my book, with the thin layer of flesh that remains on most of it, and a few areas with some real meat. That said, I find myself wanting to offer Dragon Age 2 a cheeseburger with everything on it. :P

Snip, snip, snip.

Oh my god. Thank you for this thread. I've been pulling my hair out for hours over this, going over menus again and again and again. This DLC system is anything but intuitive, and really needs some polish.

I'm happy it helped you Drithaan! :)

I agree. The system is not one that I could describe as intuitive.
