I ask because I just got the game recently myself (was waiting until I'd finished ME1 to hold off the temptation to start without having a character to import, haha) and nothing has been added in the time I've had the game.

The short answer is, it will only be there after you've (paid for, if required) and registered it.  The content that appears on your Profile page is that which EA/BioWare knows you're entitled to have (based on your registered username.)  In fact, the page name is ".../user_ENTITLEMENTS.php"

But that new content won't be there unitl you've done whatever is necessary.  (In some cases, for DAO/DA2 stuff, that was as simple as visiting a BioWare webpage and entering your EA account info...)
