Isn't it a bit annoying when you get to the part of the game where you have to take sides in an argument ? The Tali/Legion argument seems easy enough to get out of. But the Miranda/Jack fight ?.. You need an absurd amount of Paragon/Renegage points not to loose someone's loyalty. Because of this, I have to save Jack's recruitment mission to the very end, making me miss out on her dialouge. Now, I'm not a big fan of Jack, but maybe that would change if I didn't have to risk someone's loyalty.

And isn't it kind of weird how the "loser" acts. One time I  chose Jack over Miranda, And even though I helped protect her Sister, she acted like a snotty brat who didn't get her way. I guess She kind of already had that in her. But You would think risking your life to protect family would count for something. I can expect Jack acting all hurt and betrayed, for siding with Miranda. Hell, i can even understand Tali or legion's animosoty. Mirandda comes across as a little girl who is mad cause She isn't the favorite. A lot of people complain about the mineral scanning being the weak link in ME2. For me, the weak link will always be those stupid loyalty arguments. It wouldn't be so bad if You didn't have to have your Paragon/Renegade meter to 100% to side with one of them.

Anyway, Your thoughts ?

Just chose the speciliazation with +100 para/ren and it is never a problem for me.

Do the Miranda and Jack loyalty missions as early as possible to get the greatest chance of being able to resolve them with charm and intimidate. IMO, Miranda handled herself well in the fight. She was wrong to say that Jack was a mistake, but she wasn't the one flinging chairs. Anyways, I did not side with either.

I think the persuasion system in ME2 is broken and wrong. Dragon Age has a much better system.

At lower levels you'll need less par/ren points to unlock the par/ren speech options. If you use an imported ME1 lvl 60 Shep - you can have access to all the speech options throughout the game. Just make sure you always use a ren or par respons (never neutral).

Never had the para/ren bars at full and I've never not had the option to para/ren that fight. By the time I get to tali/legion, even with the passive that only gives 70% bonus, i had one or the other pegged to full and didn't have to choose between them, either.

As someone said above, the earlier you do a mission, the less paragon/renegade you need. For instance, if you do Zaeed's loyalty pre horizon, you can save the hostages and retain his loyalty will less than a bar of paragon. Near the end game, you're going to need a ton.
