Anyone else excited about this? It's available for pre-order on Amazon.  The novels have always been as much an event as the games to me, so I'm looking forward to this one to say the least.  Here's the official summary from Del Rey:

Humanity has reached the stars, joining the vast galactic community of alien species. But beyond the fringes of explored space lurk the Reapers, a race of sentient starships bent on “harvesting” the galaxy’s organic species for their own dark purpose.

The Illusive Man, leader of the pro-human black ops group Cerberus, is one of the few who know the truth about the Reapers. To ensure humanity’s survival, he launches a desperate plan to uncover the enemy’s strengths—and weaknesses—by studying someone implanted with modified Reaper technology. He knows the perfect subject for his horrific experiments: former Cerberus operative Paul Grayson, who wrested his daughter from the cabal’s control with the help of Ascension project director Kahlee Sanders.

But when Kahlee learns that Grayson is missing, she turns to the only person she can trust: Alliance war hero Captain David Anderson. Together they set out to find the secret Cerberus facility where Grayson is being held. But they aren’t the only ones after him. And time is running out.

As the experiments continue, the sinister Reaper technology twists Grayson’s mind. The insidious whispers grow ever stronger in his head, threatening to take over his very identity and unleash the Reapers on an unsuspecting galaxy.

What do you guys think? Seems Grayson will have a prominent role once again... and with the possibility of him being implanted with Reaper technology, it would only make sense to have him play an important part in Mass Effect 3, no? I wonder what Illusive Man has up his sleeves.

i loved both of the books and i have had this book on pre-order since it was anounced.
ascencion is deffinetly my favorite of the two though. and i dont expect this one to disapoint either.
funny that starcraft 2 is released on the exact same day... i wonder which one will win my attention first :P

P.S. i wish they would release it in hard cover form though

This.  I'd pay ridiculous amounts of money for an illustrated, hardcover edition of each novel.  Then again, I don't think it's BioWare's choice whether or not either of these happen.

Wow my birthday is the following day too! Are you a 17 year-old black kid going to college that dominates in soulcalibur too?

Nice touch with the music. Makes me hate the Illusive Man for what he did to Grayson and pretty much everyone else.

I hope they kill Kahlee in the novel. The ME books could use a much better protagonist.

 She was alright in Revelation... though Drew did kinda ramp-up the annoying ***** factor in Ascension.  I agree though... as a main protagonist, she's not nearly that interesting.  I'm looking forward to seeing what's become of Gillian.

edit: on second thought, harsher word than I intended... though her fling with Jiro shows poor judgement.  Gillian ended up paying the price.

Why do so many people hate kahlee? I haven't got done reading Ascension yet( currently at ch. 14) but as far as right now she seems ok....

I found that she was a very, very annoying Mary-Sue.

I'm definitely looking forward to this. I'm hoping it introduces the enemy we fight in ME3 like Ascension did with the Collectors for ME2 and Revelation with Saren in ME1.

Anyone else think Neil Ross (Codex voice) should be narrating the audiobook version? Amazon has Stephen Hoye listed, though I'm not familiar with his work.

I like Kahlee. I'd love to see her in the third, and she better live.

I have both books and plan on purchasing the 3rd. Hell, I'll preorder it now if I can.

EDIT-

Just preordered it.
