I think mr. Drew should direct his attention to this thread:

and hopefully answer a few questions for us

Good luck with that.  From my experience, Drew don't care about answering fan questions. :crying:

Just my luck. I bike down to my local
Chapters-Indigo to pick up a copy and they have none. I used the
computers to check if any other stores had any, seems like every other
store in my city has at least 3 copies, with the most having 7
copies.

^ Ha... just got mine from Chapters not too long ago. Where are you from? Anyway, I like what I've read thus far but I am not a fan of Anderson demotion (I haven't even reached that part yet... I'm glad I read it here first).

Thanks for dropping by Drew... if you have any time to discuss aspects of the book that might be considered spoiler, feel free to join the Retribution discussion group.

Doesn't seem to be available anywhere yet... though you should be able to get it  at Tantor Media or Amazon soon.  Not sure if it's on iTunes yet.

Just finished reading it and to be honest, I sort of expected more. I didn't feel much attachment for the characters and the plot could've done so much more. As a Mass Effect fan, I rather found it an interesting read and has added some stuff to the overall scope but I found it as a novel to be rather lacking.

Thats what i thought to, and i said the same after the other 2 books. But that sorta changed for expample after the games came out and you saw what the collectors were really even though they were just mentioned in the 2nd book ect. So who knows what we will see when the 3rd game comes out.

I am almost done with the book, and unlike some other people here I actually enjoyed it as a novel. We learned some shocking facts about the universe and the characters from the game. It was exciting to see TIM as an actual person, which made me sympathetic to him, but then I hated him more.

Wow - glad to see so many folks excited about Retribution.

Just thought I'd drop by on the OFFICIAL release day and say hi (and engage in some of my shameless self-promotion). Would have been here sooner but I was gearing up for Comic Con (and then recovering from Comic Con).

I know a few of you stopped by to see me during my signing - it's always nice to meet the fans. Hope you enjoy the advance copies of Retribuiton. (I don't even have MY copies yet. )

I also hope some of you will be able to make it to Celebration V in Orlando in a couple weeks. Even though it's a Star Wars event, bring your copies of Retribution (or Revelation, or Ascension) and I'll be happy to sign them.

I'll post details of my appearances at Celebration on the NEWS page of my website:
www.drewkarpyshyn.com - It's all Drew, all the time!

Okay, that's all for now. Now everyone rush out and buy Retribution. Go. Hurry. Run!

Drew

I'm so bringing my whole Darth Bane Trilogy, and most likely Retribution (if I am able to purchase it by then)! You're not listed on the guest list though... :?

I feel the same way but as someone already mentioned a lot rides on how well ME3 is written and whether it ties in well with the novel.  Plus there is a certain plot issue that is really bugging me and I'd like some sort of explanation for it in ME3 if possible.

So what is Captain Anderson's role in it?

Yeah, I thought the book had potential. Maybe if it had given us a glimpse into Turian culture the way Ascension had done with Quarian culture. That's really the best thing expanded media can hope to achieve, IMO. I also thought that the potrayal of Cerberus as bad guys trying to do the right thing would have been interesting had it been better executed, but...

In the end, I found it to be a middling space thriller and the weakest of the three ME novels. I'm not into Kahlee as a protagonist either. She's boring and not very likeable and she shows very little of her perported "brilliance" in the bone-headed decisions she makes. Her reasons for wanting to risk everything for Grayson also lack substantial exposition in the story.

I just finished reading Retribution, and I enjoyed it.

LOTS of moments that hit you in the face. It was shocking.

Also, there were elements of ME1 and ME2 in there. I loved how the book gave me so many flashbacks to ME1.

And I'm REALLY happy for Anderson at the end of it. Twas a good read.

PM inbound.

But yes, it was a good read. I enjoyed it very much, and I feel the ME1 characters added a lot to my enjoyment of said novel.

Does Anderson get demoted in the book?

Is he still on the council?

Just ordered the book, be getting it sometime next week. Which is a lot sooner than the translation in my country<_<.

What about Anderson? Does it make sense to the ME2 options? Did he get Kahlee (sp) this time around?
