I'd rather see something like this: if you let the rachni queen go then you hear about how she overran Noveria and killed most everyone there before the colony was glassed. All the corporations operating there were hit hard by the sudden loss. As such in ME2 any mods you try to by are at jacked up prices, like twice the normal amount or something.
At the same time though if you give the Cerberus data to the Shadow Broker then he uses it to damage the organization by exposing it to the public. The result in ME2 is that they can only afford to give you half the funding you'd normally receive.
You see, this way your choices actually have an effect on gameplay in the sequels...

That's what I've been saying for months, Shiala's spores are going to possess her and than she'll use Shepard's blood to fertilize the new growth.

My point is anyone and any race can be indoctrinated. So killing an entire race for that reason is stupid beyond comprehension to me. Look at real life for a minute. How do cult leaders ever get a cult or have any power, because some humans have no self esteem or are so weak willed and "indoctrinated" they let some idiot with a God complex dictate how they live and think. Does that mean all humans would do the same and should be killed? If I need to answer that for you quit reading please.
I chose to save the Rachni even though 90% of the game I played as a renegade. I believe labelling us as paragon or renegade is silly. I make choices depending on each situation. If I'm dealing with a crime lord or a scumbag that had no qualms killing others or getting them addicted to red sand or whatever other evil BS they might have done, then I have no qualms punching, threatening or killing them to get answers to save the "good" people. I still saved the galaxy as did the rest of you that finished the game.
The Rachni will eventually help us , I assume in ME3 since it didn't happen in 2 , only a message from the queen stating they will help against the Reapers. That's good enough for me. Maybe we will get a Rachni squad member in 3, or perhaps they will come in full force. Shrugs. We shall see.

I think that one of the biggest problems with morality system is you don't have to sacrifice anything to choose paragon every time. Most people would love to always do what's right in real life, but can't because it has a price. I would like it if the Rachni turned on Shepard, or if you lose another ally as a result of recruiting them. If you get an ally out of sparing the queen, but nothing out of killing it, the decision is meaningless.
This is a good point. Example: The first time through ME1 I saved the queen. Why? Because Liara was in my squad and she argued that it was an imoral choice. I at the time I was trying to fall in love with her and was afraid killing the queen would result in Liara being pissed and rejecting me.
In the end it seems whatever you choose it doesn't affect how she or other squad mates think of you in the long run.
Alternativly regarding the queen Wrex basically told me to kill the b!tch and if he had been in my squad the first time through I probably would have listen to him.

For instance, to say the Rachni should have been eradicated because they MIGHT get indoctrinated again or they may develop as a race and decide for themselves to wage a war is ludicrous. That means all races should be eradicated.
Every time I see this stupid, idoitic, brain dead, moron argument I feel like strangling someone.

:huh:remember the Rachni we're prematurely agitated, taken from their proper development thus leaving them in a infuriated state of angst (in which is why saren/benezia used them for their then altered state of psyche, their stimulated aggressive nature.)... they didn't progress into their species proper sentient psyche... it's like disturbing their puberty or something (in this case their species don't result in a stunted growth spurt, yet turn into some type of grouped rage)...

I made several valid points using examples, what was your point? Just throwing out an insult? Thanks troll.

No, I really doubt that because your premise is an inherently flawed and illogical one.
Here's an example: A lion is threatening a village so I kill the lion. According to you I'd need to them go and kill EVERY LION ON EARTH. After all if one lion is a threat then they are all a threat.
You know why we don't kill the turians or salarians or asari? We have commerce with them, we have diplomacy. Our intermingled needs mean we all reliant on one another to a certain degree.
I have another question for you: what do you suppose that big fancy lab on Noveria was there to do? Why all the security? I don't suppose it was because the rachni are dangerous do you? The rachni queen is a bio-hazard! You don't even know if she's telling the truth and you just set her free! That is not moral, it stupid. Frankly it is immoral because it risks the lives of everyone who lives and works on Noveria.

soooooo turians are metalic birds, qaurians are like half goat and half marine life, salarians are super smart amphibians, humans are highly intelligent monkies, krograns are overgrown lizards who're overly aggressive, and asari's are like half human half salarian or something... kligons are goat-men with too much aggression, the collectors are giant four eyed humanoid roaches, the hanar are super smart jelly fishes, the keepers are grasshopper spiders who're probably somehow amphibians and probaby smarter than the salarians... :unsure:how come there are no highly intelligent canine-fox people/elves (people who look human yet who are not evolved from monkeys)?Zulu_DFA wrote...

ME kept on giving negative connotations to killing the rachni queen, it was called "genocide", and the queen kept on giving you positive forgivable arguments one after another almost ad nauseum. It really made you feel bad if you made that choice.
If you saved the queen, the asari called them "an amazing people" and it's the "galaxy's benefit" that they're back.
All things pointing toward a triumphant rachni return in ME3. I have a feeling like the rohirrim marching toward Minas Tirith in RotK.

Not to mention, that the Queen is a size of three grizzly bears, and, judging by the litlle ones, can spew acid all over you, and use some woodoo tricks on the corpses, and might simply ambush you on your way out of the lab.

could come to terms with some type of interstellar resaerch agreement... "hey, you don't mind us buying your species biological acid from you and all for technological research and development? your biological material could be highly effective against the synthetic external surface of the geth or other HOSTILE synthetic mechs. maybe we can come to some sort of interspecies truce. a neutral agreement, and establish a nice peaceful diplomatic relationship. our deal could probably help your kind establish a economy and or a diplomatic place in the galactic alliance eventually, hopefully contributing to a greater universal good...", the sunnyside up view as to why you'd want to save the rachni queen...ADLegend21 wrote...

There was NO corpse reanimating. That Asari was both:
a. Dying, not dead.
b. Heavily indoctrinated.
And the queen makes a point of telling you she doesn't have long to live. Why? Because the queen sucks at singing in these low-spaces, and when that Asari's life is over, so is your conversation. Half the crap in that ME1 conversation barely makes sense. The only reason the messenger is so coherent in ME2 is because she hung out for a good long while with the queen, and they learned to effectively communicate with each other.
*waits for someone to advance the "Oh, but the messenger could be totally brainwashed and programmed to say all that nice stuff (you know, on the off chance she runs into Shepard and then deliberately gets Shep's attention so they can chat about the Rachni)" line of argument. Oh, wait: it already happened:
