Yeah, I can understand not caring about the art book, but considering how fugly the standard ME2 case was, I don't understand how anyone DIDN'T buy the CE.

This.

Not purchasing the collector's edition was a grave mistake on my part. That said I care little for the case, the art book etc etc. Personally I just want the collector's armor already paid my $60 for the standard edition plus more for nearly every DLC pack. Ask me $10 for collector armor and I'll gladly pay it. For you collector's edition owner's I simply ask: what do you lose? You get your shiny case, book, and other goodies.

Having something exclusive makes it cooler, but it's really dumb to buy a game like say Forza 3 LE and then the extra content is released to the public? It's not really fair to people such as myself who  were wise enough to buy it then rather than complain about not buying on the forums.

It's not about what we, the consumer, lose - it's a simple marketing ploy. If EA/BioWare make the Collector Armor into a DLC pack and sell it for <$10/£10/Whatever the price difference is where you live, then they're devaluing their own product.

And that's why I'm a tad miffed about the Incisor rifle. I don't see why they couldn't keep that as a DD exclusive and release something else instead.

As far as weaponry goes, the geth assault rifle seems like it's comparable to the collector assault rifle so you aren't TOTALLY burned if you got the regular edition.

I just read what I said again, and "marketing ploy" was the wrong term. I think "It's common sense" is better.

To everyone of the 'I want (it) to stay/be exclusive'-faction: ever considered being on the other side of the (pay)wall? There are people there as well. So stop trying to hinder others from having what you have.

We... meaning me... payed $10 extra for the CE.  The armor was marketed as being only for hte CE of the game.  It would be a breach of contract between EA/Bioware and the buyer.  It wasn't a pre-order item or an item for buying it directly form EA.  It was marketed as being: "Exclusive in-game Collectors' Edition weapon and armor."  Sorry... you don't get it.

You paid more to use something earlier than the rest, just like how most of us bought the game for full price only to find it priced in 4/5 months.

You must really hate Javier and me then, because we got access to the Collector weapon/armor and all pre-order DLC for free during the day-1 DLC screw up.

Nope... I paid for an "exclusive" item.  They are legaly bound to keep it as an item only availabe to the CE... unless they want to refund out money.  They can continue to make the CE and drop the price if the want... but to sell the item that they promissed would only be exclusive to said package is a breach of contract.

And yes I was pissed about that... I wrote a mean message to several bioware employees... which they apologized for.

No, it's collector's edition only for a reason.

Pretty much this.   I can understand why they would want to distribute the former pre-order bonuses as you had little control over them, but to give those who didnt want to put forward the money a bonus is kind of stupid.

You did not sign a legally binding contract when you bought the CE.

I purchased it from them.... you don't need to sign something for there to be a legally binding contract.

You people want this armor and weapon without buying the ce?

You guys want the video dvd, artbook, and redemptiom comic that came with the ce also? What about the neat packaging that it came in, you want it also?

What about the Blood Dragon armor that came with DA? You want it without having to buy DA?

That armor is ugly anywase... but I paid for it because it was "exclusive." So I don't want you to have it!

In the end it is a largely useless piece of armor that is outclassed by N7 pieces. Does it really bother people that payed for it that it has the possibility to be released to the masses. You still keep everything else you got with the CE.

That armor was the reason why I paid for the CE. I could care less about the other crap that came with it. It is ugly... but I gave them the $10 extra for it so I want it to stay exclusive to myself and those who paid extra for the CE in order to get it.

It better not be, I want to have a damn exclusive, and keep it,

And BioWare wants money. I let your imagination fill the rest.

Uhhh.. No. Maybe EA. But not Bioware.

The Collector and Terminus won't be released, because those armors were exclusive for either the CE or for ordering from Gamestop. The reason Inferno was released is because it was a generic bonus given to people just for pre-ordering the game from any retailer, but Gamestop. So don't be expecting those to come out.

Edit: They're both ugly anyways. Don't even use them. Out of the two i'd say the collector armor is probably better, but in addition to what I said above, a Bioware developer already confirmed on the boards a while ago that the Collector gear will not be placed in a DLC pack. I'm pretty sure the same is with Terminus, but he/she didn't say anything about that.

Game devs go back on their word all the time. I will be surprised if they actually keep their word with Collector armor.

Well I'll make sure to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.... companies love dealing with them.

I set a $10 bill on fire, I don't want anyone else to be able to do that.

It sounds like to me, that some of the members here didn't want to order the collector edition, for whatever reason.  Now these members are crying after the fact, because they don't get to have what came with the collector edition.

Next time, buy the collector edition.

What about the Blood Dragon armor that came with buying DA?  You want it without buying DA also?

Sorry, but petty jealousy and childish whining doesn't get any sympathy from me.

No they won't... they would contact EA and let them know that a complaint has been made and then EA would contact me in order to settle it out of court.  I don't lose any money by filing a complaint because the Better Business Bureau investigates all charges because they exist to represent individual consumers who don't have the money to file a large scale law suit against large corporations.... EA would lose more money going to court than if they settle it outside of court.  Companies hate the Better Business Bureau because it gives companies bad press when things like this occur.
