So... what? We're basically waiting for a Bioware employee to walk into the office at 9am and push a button?

Great! So when you finish playing tell us how it fits into Origin's Stories, how's the plot, music, and combat perform with the party, and if the new downloadable equipment is easy to gather or hard.

No worries, while the style of gameplay may differ, the main content stays the same.

Content was great. Enough of a twist on gameplay to make it feel fresh (Reminded me a lot of the Sly Cooper games actually) yet still familiar. Excellent production values all around with the new music, voice acting and quality of the environments. Haven't seen the new item for Origins/ Awakening yet as somehow I missed some of the leather pieces. (I can guess where I missed it too)

This is intended mostly as a summary for those who have not made up their minds on whether or not to get it. Purely my opinions.

Just downloaded and played Lelianas song, the dlc for Dragon Age.

It was longer and more immersive than i expected, although it is hard to enjoy a betrayal story when you've been told what happens.

There were no new locations, just old ones from Origins and three from Awakening. A few "new" items, one if which is unlocked in Origins and an upgraded version in Awakening.

We get a nice look at Leliana when she was a Bard, which i quite enjoyed. She is quite different.

But if theres one way to judge a little add on like this, its what is new, unique. What it actually adds. Unfortunately, theres almost nothing new.

It only tries to be anything but a hack n slash for a few seconds at a time, and not many times. Its restricted to planting one or two pieces of evidence and occasionally having to hide a body.

And then the spot i concealed a body was in the same damn well as in Origins, and any hope i had for this to be anything but a hack n slash died.

Playing a voiced Character was different, but not unique since it reminded me of playing as Morrigan or Wynne in the fade.

If what your looking for is another hour or three of Dragon Age where your Leliana with a toned down Oghren clone and an rlven mage in tow, then this is for you.

If you want something different, unique and new.......a glimpse into the game, and the life of a bard you will likely be disapointed.

I enjoyed it, and consider it worth the price but it really is nothing more than more of the same with extra Leliana.

Although it was nice leading a party as Leli.

A very nice DLC. I enjoyed it because in contrast to Awakening and the other DLCs you get the feeling that the story is more important then the items or the stupid hack&slay.

:3 I am truly content with the DLC and I want to thank Bioware for the beautiful story they portrayed.

I am hoping we will get more of these for the other characters, but it will be hard to top this one.

Best add-on for any game I have purchased.

Just finished it. All in all a very good DLC in my opinion.

Great story, good characters and I really enjoyed the more played and voice acted PC scenes. If I were to point out one small critical thing, it would be the special item earned for the main game, I would expect such a good item named Battledress no to look exactly like any other leather chets armor, but more like the one Duncan used or something like that.

worth every penny.

A good DLC.

Some problems, primarily with continuity, but not terrible. It had some golden moments littered through out the place. As for the continuity, it doesn't really match with the story told from the Dragon Age main campaign, but they pass if off as something based upon the perception of the person listening to the story, or some such rubbish.

As for the 'dump the body in the well' comment, that's just an easy out for those who don't want to completely ruin that one man's life. Gather everything, plant it, and bam, there's your achievement.

As for locations, there wasn't really any (except for one small area that's pretty much a transition leading towards the final encounter), but it was still a fun little jaunt into Leliana's past, and Marjolaine's personaility and what drives her. As well as some what provocative undertones in pretty much everything she does.

Some of the fights, just on normal mind you, can be very challenging. So if your a Nightmare player like myself, you'll enjoy what little the fights have to offer.

Anyway. I'd rated this better then any of the previous DLC, much longer and more endearing then Soldier's Peak and Return to Ostagar, tougher battles at times then Darkspawn Chronicles, and the less said about the gifts DLC the better.

Shale doesn't count.

Anyway, worth it in my opinion. But I'm notorious for being a Dragon Age fanboy.

Well, they pass it off from the start as her telling the story and she admits that the story changes with each telling and that there are pieces of it she can never decide on. (which, of course, covers those areas where you get to make different decisions) So you are getting a piece of Leliana's past, as she would like to tell it.

Here is mine:

I liked it quite a lot and being a huge fan of Leliana surely increased my appreciation.

The DLC is well balanced with combats, cut scenes and dialogues. If you was fearing a h&s feast like other DLCs don't worry then, even if I have to advise you that combats are not less than 50% of the game.

The most funny thing is to see a really different Leliana: cold, heartless, sometimes really evil, especially for the first hour of the game. A people who kills just for fun and doing evil things just for her personal amusement and considering everything like a game. They also changed her giggle... now she just does an evil laugh. Really, all people who didn't like Leliana in Origins won't risk that in this DLC. Only at the end she begins to change, but the DLC will finish then

And this is what I was really expecting, therefore I am really really happy about this thing

The story is well narrated, and also in this case it was exactly what I was expecting:

The story begins with her already working for Majorlaine and already her lover...
After a short introduction with some easy (but really FUN) quests you are going to see how she was betrayed by Marjorlaine, how she managed to escape from prison and of how she joined the church but, obviously, with many more details and a lot of things we didn't know. There are anyway some little things I din't like, but I will talk about these things later.

The artwork is very good.. and some cinematics tricks like freeze frame everytime they had to introduce a new character are really fun

The musics and the new songs by Inon Zun are awesome.. no sorry.. they are BEAUTIFUL

It's also nice to play a character who speaks (and Corinne Kempa really did a great VA perhaps even better than in DAO) and who has facial expressions. The dialogue system is similar to mass effect where you have to decide what you say but you don't know the exact words she will say.

And people, they did justice to Marjorlaine... I didn't find anything special in that middle-aged woman with no charme in Origins; here they finally showed that "femme-fatale" which I was expecting after hearing Leliana's words the first time. She is a *****, a damn ***** , but also a charming (and therefore dangerous) ***** !!

And now the things which I didn't like or they could did better.

If you were expecting to see the story set in Orlais you will be disappointed. It is set in Ferelden, to be more precise in Denerim, therefore they recycled some places we know well, like Denerim Street Market and Arle's Palace. If I am not wrong this is also a big inconsintency with what we knew in DAO, when Leliana told us that she came to Ferelden AFTER she was betrayed by Marjorlaine.. and not that she was betrayed by her while they WERE in Ferelden

The companions are really nothing of special, but being a 2 hours adventure I trust we couldn't expect anything better.. They are loyal to you, they agree always with you, they do whatever you want, it's like having two retainers instead of two companions. Anyway having at least someone to whom you can talk helps the RPG component of the DLC. And since you are playing with a rogue they have to put inside some companions for give you an help with the combats, so they gave you a tank and a mage. There are some changes in your party during the game but I won't spoiler them.

And now the most disappointing thing. We are playing Leliana and we all know about the seductive arts of a Bard.. She also told us that she liked to play with people and that she preferred different ways from violence.
Well, you won't see a persuasion check or a situation were you could escape using your persuasive skills.. The only way you have to beat your enemies is by killing them.. At least I was expecting you could try to distract them in some nice way before to attack or to defeat them.. This thing doesn't happen in the game, and to be honest they didn't even put some situation where they could put this thing..

This is really my greatest complain about this DLC

If I had to give a final judgment I could say it is nothing more that I was hoping, but it was nothing less than I was expecting.. Therefore I am quite happy.

Final vote as a Leliana's FAN 8,5/10
Final vote as a "neutral" player 7,5/10

a excellent DLC, the story is narrated for Leliana (Corinne Kempa, who did an excellent job, her voice is much better than Origins, and in origins was amazing) where you can see an 'evil' Leliana

the dialogue is like in mass effect, a great improvement in comparassion to DAO or DAA, the choices open more dialogue for Leliana and her counterparts

NEW music, a good thing is that the game isnt focused in the fights or items. the story is good and it is the center of the DLC (3 hours) I enjoyed this DLC, great story, great involvement

8.0/10

Story: Deviates a lot from what Leliana says in Origins and is rushed towards the end, but otherwise 'tis enjoyable. Seeing Leliana gradually change from someone who enjoys evil acts just for her own amusement to eventually calling the Chantry her new home is great to watch.

Companions/Dialogue: Marjolaine gets a HUGE upgrade in the character department, and for a 2-3 hour DLC your companions are pretty good. There's a surprising amount of dialogue and wise cracks, especially in the first half of the campaign. Plus, Tug is awesome. The second atagonist is just a 2-dimensional jerk however.

Music: Great music, especially in the first area; really captures a bardic atmosphere. 'Nuff said.

Gameplay: The DLC is definitely not a mindless hack n' slash for people afraid of that, I think it gets a good balance between combat and story. Also playing through on Nightmare there were some pretty damn challenging parts (god this DLC reminded me how much I hate enemy Mabari - damn you furry carriers of destruction). No new locations however, they're pretty much recycled areas.

I'd give it about an 8/10, best Dragon Age DLC so far outside the awesomeness that is Shale.

Overall: 9 / 10.

Music:
GIVE US THIS MUSIC.
I AM NOT F--KING AROUND. GIVE. US. THIS. MUSIC.
IT IS AWESOME.

Presentation: F--king fantastic IMO. I personally really have a thing for these kinds of stories, even though I'm not sure I could describe "this kind of story" the way I would need to. Cutscenes good, well thought out, etc. Although, cutscenes tended to play twice, which annoyed me a little. Anyone else have this?

Story: seeing Leliana in her cruel, self-serving, "evil" bard days was a fresh look at her, and then seeing her change was personally very immersive and engaging. Yes, knowing how it (vaguely) ends puts a damper on it, but what are you expecting? it all made sense, flowed nicely, etc.

Gameplay: being able to actually level up (coughcough DSC cough) was nice. I did find a couple of the fights stupidly, frustratingly hard. maybe I just wasn't in the DA rogue mindset, and I'm not even on nightmare either (The Night Guard Captain, at least a dozen F--king times, and the third to last fight warranted a reload). w/e. The item you get is a fantastic cuirass to get on every character just for creating them (Gnoster has a good point about the appearance tho). The one you get for the rest of Leliana's Song seems to be a much stronger version than even the Awk version, which I guess I find a little weird. Length was really nice, mainly 'cause it's something I played all day, which is nice for $7.

Characters: Really, the only ones that mattered to me were Leliana, the end boss, and Marjolaine. I guess I actually got used to that bi-ch's accent, "haha". There were a couple of funny lines, but seeing as this is a story of betrayal, I wasn't expecting comedic gold. Cemented Leliana as my favorite companion, too. Also, the freeze frame with bloodied white character introductions was fairly cool. If another similar DLC is planned tho, and if this is included again, change it up Bioware. Isn't a potential companion for DA 2 or w/e in here? Think I know who (geh rage). If one of the prisoners is who I think it is, CE fans will be happy.
