My favorite DA DLC so far (though I didn´t bother with Darkspawn C).

Storywise it was nice to see they didn´t soften Leliana´s former personality. Some continuity changes from the DA:O tale, guess they´ll pass it as Leliana´s don´t telling the whole truth there, tough the reason seems to be recycling scenarios. Quite liked the companions, and after seeing Marjolaine in action I hope she can come back in DA2. The other bad guy was introduced as a full monster, but we are more told than shown, he really can´t compare to Howe as a 2D villain.

Gameplay, not all is h&s, mostly in the first part. Some fights in Nightmare are worthy of the name without being as frustrating as the most difficult ones from DA:O. Takes about 2 and half hours listening to the conversations.

If one of the prisoners is who I think it is, CE fans will be happy.

She is, indeed, the CE's mother. I even double checked after I saw her. Or at least the names are the same.

I'm ditching Alistair, SKETCH is my new LOVE...LOL I am soooo happy to get to travel in Ferelden and have the fate of tewo nations at the palm of my hands...LOL I was great not HAVING to be the warden. LS has poinant rare moments, and comedic moments it actually is better than the Origins campaign in this context. I found myself replaying senarios because if the natural curiousity the story provokes... Plus we knew Leliana had the capacity o be a main character , I hope to see more of her!!!!!

I just played it and I loved it. There were some inconsistencies compared to what was said to our Warden, but it didn't detract from the fun. After reading the first Mass Effect book and then hearing Captain Anderson's glossed over version of what happened between him and Saren I was expecting the truth to be more complicated than what little we knew.

How do we access the new item in our Origins game? I haven't gone in to play with a Warden again and I'd like to know how before I do.

I guess they didn't consult their Origins story notes when doing this.

It's intentionally a different recounting, as has been said many times.

So instead of her being caught in Orlais, it's in fereldan, instead of her being tortured and raped by chevaliers it's by some fereldan commander.

Oh and you know, waking sea sure does look familiar...

I knew that name sounded familiar! >_<
Couldn't place it when I was actually playing.

This is the best DLC by far. It almost feels like it should have been a part of Dragon Age to begin with. I mean..Ithis is the way it should have been from the get-go.

Bravo Bioware!

The designs for the characters were well done as well. I'm a happy camper.

This DLC is actually very good. I was a little leery after RtO, which came off as a weak excuse for more fights and some overpowered loot. I liked it a lot, but there is one thing that I can not and will not forgive: the freaking bonus armor!

Yet another carbon-copy piece of leather?!?! For crying out loud, BioWare, some of us have been waiting since the day Origins came out to get at least one piece of leather armor that looked remotely cool, but everything with any personality goes to higher tiers and anything even remotely cool is automatically relegated to the Massive tier. You had the perfect excuse to give us that kickbutt black-and-red number Leliana wears in the Ashes trailer and you give us this atrocity? Nice stats, but stats are NOT everything. I'd rather have had it unenchanted but awesome looking rather than just another boring leather tunic!

Just finished Leliana's DLC. Waaaaaaaay too short. Especially for the story that's being told. I didn't really get a chance to know any of the characters, besides Bad Guy A, and Sidekick C. Also, (SPOILERS) I didn't like how her torture (possible rape) is skipped, and left utterly vague.(END SPOILERS).

Another problem I have is the dialogue choices. They don't matter. All you're doing is changing a line. Either Leliane says "You suck... I'll do it" or "I'm grateful... I'll do it". Either way, the rest of her lines are the same, and the events that happen are the same. You change nothing, nor say anything drastically different. Why give me a choice if it's just one line?

Did Leliana forget how to dual wield by the time she got to Origins? :D That was one of the first things I noticed.

I personally liked it a lot. It's a huge step up from The Darkspawn Chronicles. The story itself was great (and to those that are complaining, it's Leliana's version of her story, she could make up whatever the hell she wanted. Did the Bio designers get lazy? Maybe, maybe not. But at least the reason for changing the details a bit isn't something completely retarded.) The companions were good, but I wish they could have been fleshed out a bit more (ya, it's two hours long. But hey, they seemed like they could have interesting backstories. And I did read the codexes). That companion you get towards the end especially could have used some fleshing out, they were pretty badass in my opinion. My only two knitpicks are that you couldn't walk up to your companions and to talk to them whenever you liked outside of the 'camp' (seriously Bioware, I'll forgive you this time because it was a two hour dlc, but this is really starting to worry me, the Origins system was fine, LEAVE It AS It WAS) and the armour you get at the end...... it was really anti-climactic if you ask me. Great stats, but would it really have hurt to make it look at least a little different? Just changing the colours would have been fine with me. I also have a mixed reaction to the whole game pause, show blood splatter and name of important character thing. It was really cool for the intro, I'm not gonna lie. But towards the end it just got kind of gimmicky for me. I wouldn't suggest using that for a full game, but I can't blame Bioware for trying new things and seeing what people think, it's only natural. I also have the exact same thoughts on the ME style convo system. Hearing Corinne Kempa's sexy voice again was great, but fully voicing a full game isn't the way to go IMO. Firstly, DA isn't trying to go for the whole ME movie type of deal (well, the first one didn't at least) plus the Warden (or whatever other character we may play in the next game.... please let it be the Warden) is a completely blank slate that allows you to RP more immersively and truly makes you believe that you are this character that you've made. WEll, that's my personal thoughts on the DLC. The music was a fantastic addition to the already ear pleasing soundtrack, the action was great, and it was a joy to see Bioware go back to making engaging and interesting story based content like they always have. I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10. I'll definitely never look at Leliana the same way again (in a good way) and I hope to see her in future content and possibly games!

I'm thinking it was to see how the ME system would work in DA and to see how fans would react to it.

Totally agree on this. I loved the stats but it was plain lazy to make the set appear the same way that almost EVERY SINGLE OTHER leather armor set in the game does. At least a little color would have been appreciated.

Oooh, tough call. I'd put it on equal terms, really. About the same length, and has some nice story elements. I think Overlord is a little more raw fun, however, while Leliana's Song adds more to the story.

Overlord had about 15 minutes of actual plot content, 2 actual conversations (which are insanely short, and the rest was awful Hammerhead platforming and generic combat.

This is much, much, much better than Overlord.

Absolutely best DLC yet.
Awsome soundtrack and very immersive.
I didn´t care much about Lel in the main game but even for me, the DLC was really amazing.
Especially the guys who´s faith in Bio was crumbling like mine before: Get it und you will be consoled.

Is it earth-shatteringly new? No. But this is what the other dlc should have been like: a story/character-driven adventure with a several hours of gameplay. A number of the fights, particularly near the end, are quite challenging. There isn't much loot, but then, it would seem somewhat pointless to acquire lots of loot for a short story. I felt this one was worth it, which has not been the case with all of the dlc.

I agree, this was by far the best DLC Bioware has produced for DA, including Awakenings IMO. The voice work was spectacular, the soundtrack was perfect, the fights were challenging, and the companions were surprisingly memorable (something I really wasn't expecting given the relatively short length of DLCs).

Honestly it was well worth the $7. Fantastic work! I hope the later DLC addons are of the same quality!

Definitely the best DA DLC to date. Very cinematic, story driven, and narrative - what Bioware does best
