I agree with PanosSmirnakos but would add that they should have revised the dialogue in Origins to mesh with this. I mean, it's pretty clear this is a story she is telling, likely to the Warden, yet it is wildly different on some of the major details from everything she tells you in Origins.

:ph34r:It has been known for me to change details of stories about ex's when telling my new partner or friends about them. I am sure that would have gone double if I had been breaking the law at the time.

I just finished and wanted to add that this was very well done. This is the kind of DLC I was hoping for and with news that they are going to do more I'm hoping this is a sign of what's to come.

The music was excellent (why don't we get that in Origins...), Kempa's voice acting was better than in Origins, but the ending wasn't what I thought it would be. I was hoping to see the dream that Leliana had, and then the ending...

Anyways, I would give this a 7/10 because a lot of the story didn't mesh with what Leliana told us in camp. Also note that Leliana doesn't seem as dark as she should've when she talks about her past--we don't see her being the seductive woman she sort of brags about being...

Marjolaine does two voices (hella confusing when you get to that scene). For some reason, Ferelden looked worse than before at night lol. Also, for 7 dollars, they could've at least hired someone to revamp the rogue armor (I was thinking it was going to look like the sacred ashes armor).

All in all

Cons:
The villains weren't all that thrilling, the companions were kind of stale (the human especially), the world is recycled, the story doesn't mesh with Origins (who writes this stuff?), and--compared to Origins-- the writing wasn't all that great.

Pros:
Kempa's voice acting is outstanding--way better than Origins, the music is awesome, and the battles were freaking difficult (especially on nightmare), which is a huge relief because I was expecting Awakening's difficulty.

I really liked it, I'm a huge Leliana fan, and I thought that Leliana's Song links her past and her character in Origins way better than any "links" between Origins and Awakening. I had the feeling (a good one) to play a mini-prequel to Origins since it of course occurs a few years (I think) just before the events of Origins. Additionally, I liked how grittier it was and generally darker (both in tone and context as well as in lightning effects and the environments), it fits Leliana's past extremely well.

All in all I have to say good job BioWare, THAT is the type of DLC I was expecting, my personal favorite extra content for DAO so far, I think I liked it better than Awakening in its whole despite its obvious much shorter length (I completed Leliana's Song on Hard in around three hours or so). Now you guys (BioWare) need to give us a DLC about Alistair's past as a Templar and how he came to be a Gray Warden, please.

Yeah, there were some shortcuts taken for budget reasons, but this is still the most involved DLC since Stone Prisoner, especially since Darkspawn Chronicles played more like a mini-game than anything.

There were some glitches I ran into than none here seem to have not experienced. With DLC weaponry like "The Edge", I found a few instances of it unequiping between cutscenes, and Tug evidentally takes the Helm of the Deep with him to his grave to those unwitting enough to equip it to him beforehand.

I also encountered what I lovingly call "the ghost of Raleigh." When I chose to have Sailas finish him off, I was confronted by a repeat of the cutscene with Raleigh invisible. Sailas is still able to splay his ghostly form on the rocks below and continue to the next cutscene, thankfully.

As far as the story is concerned, it deals a lot with Marjolaine's betrayal of her lesbian relationship with Leliana. I never really got that Marjolaine ever really loved Leliana, but was just playing along as the bi-sexual vamp who figured the rules of the game herself. Though it was ultimately a poor gamble, she just calculated that Leliana was becoming too much of a risk (perhaps doing too much thinking on her own?)

I found the reason it end completely satisfactory is that it ultimately serves as a foreshadowing to Leliana killing her past lover in Origins. In otherwords, it is merely a suppliment to the conclusion reached in Origins--in that "Am I really no better than she by killing her for personal satisfaction?" and (to use an old addage) 'I suppose its no use trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear?" The real consequences of the end of this quest is left for the "fated" event in Origins.

Unless, of course, it is possible to kill her in the DLC, erasing the possibility of a future encounter. I did not get that however.

At any rate, the more I think about it, the more I feel blessed not being thrust into Orlais. Such a bombardment of French accents may have kept me from making it past the second Maurice Chavalier sound-alike

I liked it - it was a little on the short side, but not a big deal. New music was great, Voice acting was excellent - except I thought Tug was a little wooden, then I found out who the VA was and that explained it. We all pretty much knew the basics of the story, but the details were interesting.

All in all - 4.5/5

Pretty good DLC. Maybe one could be created that tells Marjorlaine's story?

Pros:

- nice story

- nice effects

- fun to play

- good armor as a reward

- supporting characters were good

Cons:

- could have been a bit longer

- not being able to pick locks without an extra level of mechanical expertise

- story contradicted what Leliana said in the actual game

- more could have been expanded on Leliana and Marjolaine's relationship

Overall 8/10

Best DLC yet......Story and Acting were excellent and finally combat at nightmare setting was a challenge.

I really enjoyed seeing this other side of Leliana and I wish more of this personality shined through in Origins.

In Origins Leilana was someone you would want to settle down with in hut with a white picket fence and raise a couple nugs and a mabari. However, the DLC Leilana is the woman you want as the Mistress on the side.

Without a doubt a really nice DLC

1. I love the difficulty (Origins shines level 8-14) with limited pots ... the nightmare level was close to insane with crap gear and no pots at the beginning

2. This version of Leliana's betrayal is most likely the correct one. Leliana purposely lies to Warden on several occasions so white lies about her betrayal with Marjo doesn't destroy the continuity (like the Morrigan argument "talk is cheap" ... "this from a bard") It makes her being in Fereldan a more likely occurence than the Orlais version of her capture

3. The story really moves ... the scene with a potential Origin PC's mother was touching

4. Good value ... almost as much as a Happy Meal at MCDs ... less than a 3D movie flick for two hours

5. Bioware and EA in particular are for profit companies so some flaws are expected ... but I rather see money invested in story, good voice talent, and game play than graphics or new locations (which require a lot of beta testing)

Fantastic DLC. A talking PC, Shepard, Leliana and soon to be Hawkes adds sooo much to the game. I'd like to play some Sten or Zevran dlc like this.
