X marks the spot! Give enemy archers a target!

Err.... right. Anyway. Yes, if you can edit/create a .dds file, you can add any tattoo your heart desires.

You can pick Duncan's hair and Beard, but only if you're a Human Male. You have to have the toolset obviously, but it's pretty easy once you know what you're looking for. There's also a tutorial I did (located here:http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/8/index/176308), Unfortunately, Photobucket hates me and alot of the images aren't showing up, but I'd more more than willing to help anyone interested.

Sweet! Posted Image Is the Elf Mage Poster Girl hair toolsettable as well?

Unfortunately, no. I will be trying to implement longer hair styles for both males and females, as well as some mohawks and new beards and such. I'm also going to try piercing and new tattoos and colors for the hairs/tattoos/eyes.

There are a couple on Dragon Age Nexus but they don't add much yet and some of what they do add is a bit bizarre, like glowing weirdly coloured hair/eye tones etc.

Could also call it an unlocker, unlocks some NPC's hair for example for race/sex specific use.

Once I figure the toolset out, I might try meshing some new hair. I have done it for Sims games - so I can't imagine it would be a horribly terrible conversion process to learn. I want to try some longer hair, better ponytails, fauxhawks and more diversified facial hair. The eyes could be different as well, I wasn't impressed with the mods made so far in that department. What kinds of things are people looking for in terms of male hair and beards?

Chris Priestly is one of the Bioware Devs. He has a reputation for enjoying villainy & occupying an 'evil' desk in the Marketing section of the Bioware company.

yes, some longer hair would be really appreciated. I wonder why the default hair styles are not longer than upper shoulder level... unfortunately I have not much knowledge about 3D modeling and such, but is it that hard to include longer hair into the game?

The problem is that without bones (which are essentially guides for deformation) the hair won't move and longer hair could have mroe of a tendency to clip through armor. The first one may be something that can be dealt with, I know some of the technically-minded folk are looking into it, and the other probably won't be too bad, but if it was included by default the clipping would've likely raise some eyebrows amongst reviewers.

This is correct. The dev's couldn't find a way to overcome clipping & animation issues with long hair, so they hardcapped how long it could be.

Oh ok, thank you for the explanations, Tyrax and Twitch... now I understandit, and also I understand a bit better some clipping issues that occured also in Morrowind and Oblivion with the longer hair made in those games, especially with the first mods. Those issues did improve a lot in later releases
