And boy was I disappointed that I couldn't drop some disembodied heads in my fishtank for a nice renegade decoration.
Oh yes, and early on there should be an option to get rid of that damn Cerberus logo.

They were permanent cast members, of sorts. The ship might get damaged, but it usually survived through the entire saga and you begin to care about it as it was one of the heroes. Personally, I wasn't thrilled with the switch from the SR-1 to SR-2, even though I like the new ship. If it's a one-time things, sure - then the loss of the original Normandy retains its emotional impact; it's your original ship. But if we keep switching them between each game, then cease to be a character and become a simple object you don't care about.
So, yes, I do hope we keep the SR-2 in Mass Effect 3.

I think I'd prefer a new ship or the SR-1 back. The SR-2 is great but it feels boring and lifeless. The grey interior feels lifeless and ugly, it has no music unlike the SR-1 and I find the SR-1's design cooler than the SR-2's.

I guess people on this site can truly complain about anything.

I few people have mentioned that they prefer the SR-1 over the SR-2. What elements of the SR-1 did you like better than the SR-2, and what elements of the SR-2 did you like better than the SR-1? There's no need to mention Cerberus logos. There seems to be a concensus on that subject
I just want to be able to choose my crew (since my last one got turned into reaper sauce)... these are my choices.

Sans Cerberus logos, there's not much I miss about the old Normandy SR-1. Although I like the soundtracks of both games, the music inside the dark Normandy SR-1 overlapped with the sound of the engine hum and the usual ambiance (like Dr. Chakwas notes in Mass Effect 2).Dusty Everman wrote...

Also, Ashley, Wrex and Garrus should have had some kind of conversation with each other, especially since they were located in the same room.

Personally, I prefer the SR-2 and thought it was a significant upgrade over SR-1.

Ashley Williams: Who wants to tell Tali that she has to stay in the engine room? *both of them raise their hands including the arms officer* Y'know, I normally don't like aliens, but you guys I like.

I pretty much like everything about the SR-2 better than the SR-1, except for the general color of the ship; I prefer dark blue to white when it comes to futuristic starships, but that's just my opinion. More importantly, the music on the SR-1 in ME1 -- as simple as that may sound, it actually made the ship feel more alive to me. I was kind of disappointed to see that there was no onboard-ship background music in ME2. Another honorable mention would be the airlocks and "decontamination in progress". SR-2 had an airlock (obviously), but it was "just there".Dusty Everman wrote...

Regardless, the SR-2 is definitely a much better ship than the original Normandy.

I like the SR-2 in fact I like having the Cerberus logo there (well my Renegade Shep does) but I wouldn't be upset if it got removed due to the story (mind you, it could be another 'tag', if you decide to hand over the base to Cerberus you keep the logo, if you don't then it get's removed - apologies if annyone else has previously put this idea forward).
I'd prefer to keep the SR-2 and wouldn't mind allow it to be upgraded further from ME2 upgrades (although I'd like to see the current upgrades play a role in the beginning of ME3) as appropriate, even re-fit(s) that change the visual looks wouldn't be too bad.

Check out my post here for proof that it does in fact work. Just use BBCode and copy-paste the generated link, after following the instructions I PM'ed you the other day. Doesn't even take 5 minuties.Ecael wrote...

Hopefully you can just pick who come along this time, those who you don't want along can fill roles of some outside helpers.

Nah I just put Tali to do the cooking, if I have to take her along.
