Cuddling is fine but seeing as the game is rated as Mature 17+ seeing G/PG rated bits seems a bit tame except Kelly’s dancing but that was more or less ruined by the lame “press B to continue” pop up. At least In Dragon Age you got to kiss your love interest at times and talk to them. To bad that this is the only thing you get confirming that you had a romance.

For the second time in an hour...

Side boob. The real issue in all ME/ME2 arguments.

EDI’s explanation of ship areas were rather pointless, bland and redundant to me. They lacked any actual insight to what EDI is describing. You knew where you were and at the very least could guess what the function of that room was.

They'd have been better removed for the sake of occasional PA updates played while you happen to be just standing around on board, in my opinion, as opposed to making the EDI-boxes even longer and more pointless.

Your complaint is that the cuddling is too tame, Drago? Oh well we can agree on that right now. I wanted more. I wanted new dialogue. New scenes.

But your point is that the cuddling should be thrown out entirely because of its tameness? Well that we just can't agree on.

Nor, it seems, can we agree on EDI's explanations. I found her description of how quantum entanglement particles allow you instantaneous communication with the Illusive Man to be fascinating. I found her explanations of many other areas of the ship and how they work to be quite informative and helpful.

Your example of a more colorful area description is much better, of course, but it doesn't mean the whole area description system was pointless.

I few people have mentioned that they prefer the SR-1 over the SR-2. What elements of the SR-1 did you like better than the SR-2, and what elements of the SR-2 did you like better than the SR-1? There's no need to mention Cerberus logos. There seems to be a concensus on that subject :)

Things I liked better about the SR-1:
-It had music
-More connected. On the SR-2 if I want to feed my fish and talk to everyone I need to sit through something like 4 load screens. The SR-1 only had two areas.
-Admiral Hackett contacting you audially, instead of getting half your side missions from e-mail.

Things I like better about the SR-2:
-The souped up captain's cabin that you can personalize.
-Interactivity. Little things like being able to close the combat blast shields, etc. Not super important gameplay wise but help immersion.
-Aside from not liking the e-mail, I do appreciate the private terminal's team status function. Just next time around let us actually spend squad points on team members at it.

Um no, I didn’t say or imply that it should be removed. Just upgraded to a more mature level at least to the level of its rating age group. You see more romantic cuddling with a lot more skin or passion in whats left of the soaps during daytime tv (in the USA).

Yes EDI had some good detailing in some rooms but not enough to keep me interested in what is said for most of the time. The Engineering part for example could have been expanded with an introduction and further explanation by the two engineers there. Somethings were ok but a lot of it just didn’t work for me.

I think you can cuddle with Jacob without his shirt on.

Which means next to nothing seeing as how his romance is laughable, but still.

I felt like EDI's descriptions should have more comedy kickers in there. I liked what she says if you go into the wrong restroom, it made me laugh. I wish there was more of it.

Yes it was funny but even so: No more AI spying on the restrooms and showers in ME3 please!

The main thing I like about the SR-1 over the SR-2 was less loading times to get around. You just took the elevator between the two levels in order to talk to your squad in ME1 whereas in 2 you have to go through three or four load screens.

Overlal though I like the SR-2 over the SR-1 because it feels like an evolution of the design...since the SR-1 was a prototype, this is fitting. I also liked being able to upgrade the ship and the fact it actually has bathrooms!

Actually I thought the elevator in the SR1 was the slowest piece of machinery in all of recorded history. At least in the SR2 I get to watch an interactive loading screen.

If I can remove the Cerberus logos, sure. Otherwise, I couldn't care less.

Dusty said not to worry about the Cerberus logos actually. It makes me curious, Dusty. What's going to happen to them in ME3? Will they get removed?

Gee, I hope so. How about some film posters to put on top of those logos? Some Blasto and Fleet and Flotilla posters would do wonders for the place.

I didn't say the logos would be gone.  I didn't say they would stay.  I didn't say you'd keep the SR-2.  I didn't say you'd get a new ship.  I didn't say anything about what may or may not happen in ME3.

What I did say is that it was clear that many people don't like the Cerberus logos, so there was no need to bring that up again.

I very much appreciate the opinions that everyone has expressed.  There are a lot of common themes that give me good food for thought.  Many of them are things we wanted to do in ME2 and were just unable due to time or technical issues.  Thank you everyone.

Dusty, if you're trying to say the new SR3 will have a disco room, just say it, you don't have to make us read between the lines. We're all friends here. It can be our little secret. Just between you, me, and everyone else who can use the internet.

Personally I like the SR2 more than the SR1, except that you can't run arround the hangar. Also the flair of leaving the SR1 through the airlock(the SR2 has one, just make it active).

But I'll be fine as long as EDI doesn't mutate into a reaper and we don't see a Shepard-Husk standing in front of a EDI-Hologramm.

I prefered SR-2 to SR-1. Why?

I loved EDI-- she made the ship both have more personality and feel more dangerous at the same time. Having her scan the battlefield and give me tips while offshore was really cool-- finally there was some advantage to having the Normandy in orbit while I was ashore. The ship felt more complete. The science lab, the armory, even the restrooms, made the ship feel like it had more functionality.

Hopefully Mass Effect 3 will have one key improvement to whatever Normandy we will be using-- no loading points. The ship isn't that big, I think we ought to be able to walk around it without loading. I always wondered how either Normandy would react in the event of a surprise attack, with everyone having to line up at the elevator to get to their battlestations.

A disco version of the ME theme would be great. And it would seriously be great to see the crew dancing. I bet Mordin or Garrus would win the danceoff.

This may sound really stupid but I thought the interior of SR-2 was too... bright. I liked the fact that everything had that blue glow and that the drive core illuminated the entire engineering section. The conference room (where you have debriefings and talked to the Council) was also better in my opinion, like it was Jedi Council Chambers in the Star Wars films. Put a hologram projector in the middle of the floor and it would be even better. Exiting the ship through the airlock also added atmosphere.

Going on a more criticising tour, the additional characters that populate SR-2, Gardner, Chambers, etc. didn't add anything in my opinion. I didn't miss them that much when they were abducted or dead. The only thing I would miss then was that I didn't have a crew.

And having access to the hangar would be nice, though that horse has been beaten to death by now.

Well the two ships have good features and also bad ones.

Things that I liked about SR-1
* The decontamination process gave me a more space feeling.
* The elevator even though slow didn't make me feel exasperate as with the loading screens.
* The outside colors made it look better.
* You could enter any room without having a specific character (maybe thats because they weren't many rooms).

Things that I liked about SR-2
*LEATHER...enough said.
* The bright interior felt good.
* The conversation between crew (like gaby and donny) need more of that stuff.
* The ability to upgrade the ship was good but could have been better.
this is whisful thinking but I would really like that in me3 the normandy were damaged and you would have to repair it and in the process they gave you the chance to customize the normandy in a more personal level for example color in the outside, the patron of the lines and so but I hardly seeing happening.Image IPB

My brother also had a few things to say:

He liked the Captain's Quarters and the interactivity in it: Ship Models, pets, etc. He would like to be able to actually go everywhere in your ship (deck 5).

*snip*

If the developers listen to anyone about the damn elevator, I will DESTROY YOU.

I will only accept the return of the elevator if 1) there was someone else in the elevator talking or 2) it had a mass effect core powering it to ludicrous speed.

The biggest problem I had with loading screens is that it was a disconnect whenever it showed up. Decontamination chamber made you feel like you were leaving the ship. Mako drop made it feel like you were being tossed onto a foreign planet. Elevators on the Citadel made it feel like you were traveling great distances on a vast space station.

True, there was only one elevator to suffer on the SR-1, but it was slowest goddamn elevator of all time and by the time Shepard reached the cargo deck, it was five hours later. Real time.

Don't mind if the developers simply get more creative with their loading screens. Show the squad sitting in a transport as it goes from one end of Zakera Ward to the other. A cutscene. Anything that doesn't take you out of the environment.
