I think the dalish was the worst.
No matter how much you say lets be careful;lets go back;lets go inform the keep;step away the the mirror nothing really changes.I really felt like i was on a straight path with no choices.:D:(

The elf ones. Because you play as an elf.

The mage one, after the harrowing which was good. Because I was railroaded into either help or rat on Jowan and I really didn't want to do either. I kept looking for another way out.

I like them all, but the Dalish would be my least favorite one. It seems short, and it is a classic case of "stupidity is the only option".

Mage..at least Dalish Elf is short. Mage drags on and on.

Dalish was probably the worst. No interesting characters that followed you, relatively boring story that wasn't intriguing in any way and was too short.

I liked the Dalish Origin just not everything else about it. It kinda seemed disconnected from the rest. The City elf goes back home and saves some of her people from slavery. Human noble gets revenge and meets up with their brother in the end. Dwarf noble can prevent Bhelen from becoming king, then kill him. Duster can have Bhelen become king in order to make a better life for their sister. Mage can eventually release the Circle from the Chantry. Dalish?....You get to kill your best friend cause he turned into a ghoul, and help some other clan with their dog problem. In my first game I was hoping to meet up with my clan somewhere in my travels. But, no...

I'm going to have to agree with the Dalish origin being the worst. It had great potential but seemed to fall flat compared to most of the others. I think they have the most interesting history and point of view of all the origins but that wasn't reflected at all in the game. Maybe they will have a bigger role in DA2.

The city elf and Dalish elf origins suck, there's elves freaking EVERYWHERE! Its like I'm at a LGBT parade or something.

It would have been nice to have one origin story where you actually get to volunteer -- no big drama leading up to it.  Then think of how you feel when you get to the joining and discover that there's no way out and you have to basically do a blood magic ritual and there's no way out after that!  Now, there's some drama!  Mage origin would have been great for that.

"How many times do I have to tell you? Don't touch the......hey man, I told you not to touch the.....agwh.........darn it, you touched it!"

That and you never get to go back to see the folks you just get that little surprise visit in camp.

Mage, because I found it an exercise in tedium.

Also the Dalish, for reasons mentioned above and also because Duncan finding you and recruiting you was an accident, whereas in the others(except dwarf commoner) he had an eye specifically on the PC.

But the DC does have arguably the best recruitment scene as he has never heard of you but when he sees you fight he knows he wants you right then based on skill alone and not reputation.

Dalish Elf, if only for the fact that the other Origins are all somehow relevant to the main plot while this one isn't.

I liked the Dalish Origin (although yes, I agree, getting railroaded into the whole touching the mirror thing....)

I liked it because, like mentioned above, Duncan has no clue who you are, but wants you after finding out you're already tainted, have resisted the taint, and you've got mad fighting skills.....plus I like arguing with him and the keeper.....and the leaving bit is poignant.

Personally, I like the DE origin for the US ending due to the whole slight disconnect compared to the rest of the Origins from Ferelden, even if they survive and find their clan again, are they really going to be able to fit in with them again?

I find the Mage Tower tedious.....ugh. Having to go to the fade more than the once in the game? Please no!!!

The Mage origin has that similar moment with Jowan and Lily.

Human Noble! Way too long, and I couldn't like any of the NPCs from there.

I will have to agree on the Dalish being the worst one. Every other origin has some sort of important follow up during the course of the game, while the only thing that happens while playing the dalish is getting a "surprise visit in camp", as someone already mentioned.

Dalish Elf just because it's so poorly implemented.

It's too long? I thought it was actually one of the shorter ones and if you just went straight from the start to Dog to Fergus you could breeze through it in fifteen minutes.

Dalish Elf disappointed me, I thought it was too short, and contrived. Also, as an elf, I got little respect from npcs in the game. I liked human Noble the best, I had a really good reason for killing Howe, and I enjoyed every second of it! Also Ban Teagan flirted with me... The Only time I played an elf, I didn't make Alistair king, and I decided to go with Sten back to his homeland.

Well, Teagan will flirt with any girl who passes the persuade check and I've heard it's even better for mages. Still, that is definitely a great moment in the game. Posted Image

Agreed,  I didn't notice the length but didn't warm to the noble NPCs either... that pretty much goes throughout the game.

My complete playthroughs have always been elven PCs, prefer CE to DE - I'm happier playing the underdog.

If I remember correctly, when you tell him you're a mage he says that mages aren't forbidden to marry, to which you can reply somthing like "yes, but only if the man has the guts" (or something like that) and he says, "I can think of many reasons why one would want to be so brave" (again, something like that).
