Hello together!

My first question here: Is it possible to have an interior level with rooms exactly above each other (eg a tower)? I know I can make it in the toolset, but will the minimap still work properly? Or have I to resort to area transitions or an area list to avoid the the loading screens?

Kind regards,
G.

I do not think it will work in one area. I am unsure how the game would handle displaying the objects, but it probably is not pretty. In addition, pathfinding will likely be a problem. I remember hearing that the game does not support pathfinding on overlapping levels. It will likely be possible to manually navigate the level with WASD, but clicking on a location to go to will confuse the AI; it will be unsure which level you mean.

I'm quite vague on the specifics of some of this, but the overall impression I've received is that overlapping things is a bad idea and generally doesn't work.

Thank you for the quick and helpful reply!

I will stay then with an area list or different areas, I will see.

Kind regards,

G.

nope its not possible, if you do so, pathfindings will be rendered only to the upper room, and lower will stay without them.

Since transitions slow down the action, to keep everything in one area, I've been using an "exploded view" of buildings - for example, the cellar is actually on one side of the lower floor, while the upper level is on the other side, with stairs throughout. Not entirely realistic, but it looks better in game than it sounds.
