I'm having the same problem.I also managed to talk to him before downloading the Stone Prisoner but now I can click on him, and he looks at me, but no dialogue. I have a fire crystal in my inventory which seems to suggest that the DLC is working, but I can't actually start the quest.

I have the same problem. So I got the brilliant idea that I would delete the DLC entirely, and now when I wanted to reinstall it, the game asks me to purchase the DLC. :( I got it by redeeming a code I got when I bought the game... Will I have to buy the Stone prisoner DLC now, or is there some way to get it back? when I try to redeem it again I get a message saying the code has already been used.

I talked to Felix before installing DLC. Now that I have installed it, clicking on Felix does nothing. He shows a yellow arrow on his head but clicking yields no result. :(

That DLC system is buggy as hell currently.
Not to mention it is a totally biased business model. Because they end up having to mutilate their game enough to make the gamer frustated enough to buy what is missing in the first place.
But well, I must say that with all the current crap, they should loose much more customers/fans that I initially expected.

Btw, I tried several options about that, including full install again, and sometimes, I get the same result as you (Felix doesn't speak with me), sometimes I basically loose the area on the world map and cannot even reach him.

I tried reinstalling too. Guess I'll have to play without him. Can I get my money back though? :)

I have been having the same issue with Felix. Have tried several different things to work around but nothing seems to work, and when i did a search of the DOA folder found no Felix voice scripts.

Could this be where the problem is?

Don't feel too bad ... I downloaded successfully and ran the game. Went to the Pass yesterday and spoke with Felix and everything seemed to work. He handed me the Golem Control Rod before exiting the conversation. Then when I checked the map ... NO VILLAGE! The pass no longer appears on the map and restarting the game does not fix the map. I know the village is supposed to be south of the pass, but have nothing to click on the map ... Grrrrr! Hope they patch this soon!

I just started a new game and was able to talk to Felix and complete the quest without a problem, but my old game still has the same problem. It is still frustrating that I can't get Shale for the old character, but at least it doesn't seem to be a total loss.

I am suspecting that it was a flag that was set when all of us went to Sulcher's Pass before we had the content going "I wonder what this is?" We spoke to him. It set the flag and now that we own the content the flag to speak to him has already been set. I am looking to see if their is console command or debug method for fixing this. If I manage to find a solution I will post it here.

In the meantime, those of you missing the village from the map and such:

This thread has good instructions for fixing that:
http://social.biowar...58/index/275974

I am just trying to determine how to fix Felix for those of us that already spoke to Felix before we owned the content.

Sulcher's Pass shows up as a yellow/gold place on the map. Even if you don't have the DLC. You can go there and he is the guy standing by the wagon and the fallen tree with a big wall in the background. He offers the quest to you about the control rod. It seems those of us that are having problems are people who spoke to him before we owned the DLC. Now, that we own the DLC we can go there and he has an exclamation mark over his head but, he will not speak to us when we click on him. There is a map note that says FALLEN TREE and there is the exit back to the world map. You cannot do anything and you cannot continue with the quest.

I've tried a few things from your other thread (thanks for that) and will tell you what they are but, no luck so far:

I've done the console command runscript zz_shl_debug and I did get the window up but, all of the places it mentions and the plot flags do not match the information provided at this stage in the game so, it is possible they might jump us past something we needed. So, I did not use any of the options.

Next I went to the addins folder and removed the Sulcher's Pass addin and then I manually downloaded it and updated it with daupdater.

I worked with NWN1 a lot and worked closely with Bioware on a number of things. I scripted the horses in The Wyvern Crown of Cormyr Premium Module, and I also did the official scripts in the 1.69 Patch for Neverwinter Nights. So, I know we used console tricks often to reset plot flags, variables, and run scripts. So, I definitely think you are on the right direction and you have provided awesome information.

I am not seeing as many OFFICIAL Bioware people posting in these forums as I did with their other products. If we cannot figure it out I'll reach out to some people I know at Bioware.

I also applied for Dragon Age Multiplayer Technical Designer a few years ago (before they canceled multiplayer and the position no longer existed). They flew my wife and I to Edmonton for a couple days. I got to have lunch with and spend time with a number of people on the team. So, maybe I can find some help if we cannot get what we need. (No promises but, I can try)

I only just started looking through these forums a couple hours ago so, I do not know that much about how everything is setup yet. I am going to dive into the toolset soon but, I figured I'd beat the game first. I'm glad I did. This game is incredible. And I am more a multiplayer fan than single player but, I think this game is still very awesome. :) It is changing my mind about single player a bit. Everything I design is usually multiplayer but, I may want to do some things for single player after all. :)

I really do hope that this problem is resolved because I just paid 20 bucks for nothing. I would really like to play this quest but if not, I do want my money back. These kind of issues should be resolved before the put out the add on. How can no one play this quest and the designer of the add on not know it!!! Thats Bad buisness....

Probably does not have the collectors edition/deluxe edition.   In which case, you need to buy it to download it.

This issue is not resolved yet.

You can use debug mode to run a script that will get you into most of it.   I haven't tested to see if that cuts out much but, I might be doing that soon without some sort of official feedback.

Also, I did not realize that this site is NOT the official support forums for Dragon Age Origins. For official support I guess we should all be posting here:

http://help.dragonag...?p_sid=iiEkUPNj

That certainly was not very clear.

No, it comes with every new copy of the game.

Ahh yes, looks like they give a promotional code. http://dragonage.bioware.com/addon/

Gotta read the fine print.

I have the Deluxe Edition so, did not go through all of that. You are correct though that this should not have needed to be purchased. Unless the person did not know they had a promotional code.

Here is what I have found so far: I wouldn't have been able to do this without the guide from TallBearNC but, what I am writing here is specifically targeted at those of us not being able to talk to Felix.

How to fix Felix in Sulcher's Pass - I do not know if some things may be

missed by doing this but, when you cannot get Felix to speak to you these

are the steps.

1) Create a shortcut to DAOrigins.exe with debug mode enabled flag. Run

Dragon Age by using that shortcut.

a) Go to your Dragon Age install directory and into the bin_ship folder

B) Right Click on daorigins.exe

c) Click on Copy

d) Go back to your Desktop and Right click

e) Choose Paste Shortcut

f) Now right click on that shortcut

g) Click on Properties

h) In the TARGET box it should end in daorigins.exe" add a space after the quotation mark and add -enabledeveloperconsole

i) Click OK

j) You can now use that shortcut to launch the game and the console mode will be accessible.

2) Save your game before doing the following so, you can always revert back

to what it was before doing this.

3) Press the ~ key (pronounced Tilde) This initiates a console window

which you cannot see.

4) Start typing the following: (As soon as you start typing a lot of debug

info will appear at the top of the screen and will vanish after you type the

following and press enter)

runscript zz_shl_debug

5) Set the Plot Flag to HAVE COMMAND WORD

6) Warp to location. Choose SHALE OFFER. This will give you the quest.

7) Warp to location. Choose Village of Honnleath.

I tested this and it seems you can do most of the quest. I did note that I can use the command word on Shale right away and if you want to play this the way it was intended I think you are actually supposed to quest for the word. I am still doing the quest so, cannot say much.

So, I know the SHALE quest and Honnleath did not come up if I warped to SHALE OFFER without setting the Command Word. However, you could also simply try warping straight to the Village of Honnleath and see what happens.

This is obviously not a permanent fix. It is simply providing what those of us in the community have put together. Hopefully, and official fix will be forthcoming that will not make this necessary.

Have now sent a report to the customer support site about this problem. sent them the link to this thread also and hopefully we'll get an answer. No good sitting here whining or trying to fix an obvious in-game bug. It's on their table now. :)

*update*

Got an answer. not really the answer that i wanted but is it ever? :P

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts Customer Support.

We
are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. The issue you are facing
could be an issue with the mechanics of the game. Unfortunately at
customer support we can only help with issues with the game itself, we
cannot make changes or correct game bugs. You can however report this
at the official forums, so that the game developers can take a note of
it and investigate this further."

Any new word on this recently? I really want to do this before I continue. I haven't tried the fix suggested by DevaWinBlood as I am still hoping for things to work out so that I can do the quest in full.
