Why isn't this free?

Quality stuff like this DLC I don't mind paying for. the cheap stuff that just reuses meshes and textures already in game with just some new stats on it, now that sort of stuff should be free. But in the end I think with the stuff we already received for free through the Cerberus network I think  we already got our money's worth out of that.

Hi Folks,

As you may have already seen, the Aegis Pack is now available on Xbox LIVE marketplace, and will be available for the PC this morning.

What’s better than the latest in high-tech armor? High-tech armor and a sniper rifle, of course! The Aegis Pack adds the M-29 Incisor sniper rifle and the Kestrel armor to Shepard’s armor locker.
The Incisor sniper rifle is a burst-fire weapon that excels in destroying enemy shields.

The Kestrel armor comes in five pieces:
The Kestrel Helmet adds weapon damage, shield strength, and headshot damage.
The Kestrel Torso Sheath adds melee and weapon damage and shield strength.
Kestrel Arm Sheathing adds melee and weapon damage and shield strength.
Kestrel Shoulder Pieces adds shields and melee damage.
The Kestrel hip-mounted Power Pack ups shields and heavy weapon ammo capacity.
The Aegis Pack – for those times when overkill doesn’t seem like enough.

i downloaded it but cant find it di you have to start a new game

Thanks Bioware. No really, thank you. It looks like you still can learn from forum and provide us with parts of armor, exactly what we were asking for so long.
Keep such DLC coming and I'll be happy to transfer some cash to your account.

Can you also next time integrate DLC items into stores or locations so that it will not disbalance the game? ^_ ^

Now this is worth paying 2 dollars. Not only is it armor pieces, but good armor pieces with good armor stats. That's what I want to pay money for. Not just 2 ugly helmets, with minor stats.

The pieces are the last armor pieces. Just go to your locker, and change your Chest, arms, legs to the last selections. If that doesn't work, try looking at your email, and see if Tim sent a message.

when you want new wheels for your car do you also ask them why it isnt free?

Presumably. I've never quite figured out where this expectation to not have to pay for stuff comes from.

It's less than a £1 for christ's sake....

After you download the DLC install it using the EXE file, and then when you load up a game check your mail on the ship and read the ones about the Aegis pack and then go to your Captains cabin and change your armor.

Dangit, ME2 gets all the flashy new meshes, textures, models, stuff I wouldn't mind paying for... and DA is stuck with retextured armors. :(

I can't believe people are complaining about this DLC, it's only $2 how overprivileaged gamers are these days.

With that said, this new armor looks sweet. Great idea making it into pieces, I don't care because I prefer for my Shepard to be wearing his helmet but I know a lot of people have hated that DLC suits came with the helmet as a requirement and that you guys said you won't patch it.

New sniper rifle is pretty sweet as well.

This isn't quality stuff.  This is stuff modders could turn out in their sleep if they had the tools.

I wouldn't be surprised if an intern made this.

My Fem!Shep approves of the new armor. I'm sorry that the armor doesn't have your Shepard showing off her boobs. Hey, guess what? This armor is modular. You can take off the chest plate if you want to.

The Incisor sniper rifle is perfect for squadmates, especially Zaeed and Thane.

It sucks greatly in one aspect - we can't wear the helmet in vacuum (hazardous) environments. Otherwise, the new armor is smashingly good *thumbsup*

Much love and respect for this one (and overlord) Bioware. Taking a small step in the right direction by listening to the fans (removable N7 parts, incisor rifle, etc.).

Yeah, no cameltoe on Femshep's armor. Shocking.

It could hardly be called an "armor" if that were the case ^_^ But i suppose the budget for 2$ content isn't enough to make separate male and female version.

They aren't identical. If you look at the pics posted earlier in this thread, the proportions are different and the codpiece also doesn't look the same on the two armors. It's not a proper Femshep armor because of the chestplate, obviously, and I agree that sucks, but complaining about the codpiece is just another wonderful case of people on this forum complaining about absolutely anything as long as they can somehow make themselves sound aloof.

You act as if you know. Modders do have the necessary tools to do this, but does that make Bioware any less of a developer? You may not know, but most people in the Industry started out as modders. In fact, modding would be a good thing to put on your resume to show some early samples of your work. Especially if you worked with a team. This is quality DLC. Just because it isn't as "qualifying" as you'd like it to be, doesn't mean it isn't. But don't go degrading Bioware because you don't like the pack. I bet you wouldn't know the first thing about modeling, or even importing into UE3 and setting up the materials/animations.

This looks like a nice "light" armor for a infiltrator/adept... except, what's with all the lights? Not that Mass Effect combat is big on stealth, but I'd still kinda prefer my armor to not make me look like a christmas tree. Especially what's with the glowing "crack" on the helmet? It would look SO much better without that...
