The necklines of many ME armors have a V-shaped cut or dip at the throat. The new Kestrel armor does not.
It was a small thing, but those V-lines always screamed "Shoot here" for me. I appreciate the extra cover on my front.
I wear the Kestrel armor now exclusively, all pieces except the helmet. I still wear the headshot visor.

We had more armour and weapons in ME1 because they were all reskins with a few exceptions hence fast to make, just like when you reskin your armour in ME2 then call it something else and give it different stats. In ME2 we get parts instead of full body suits which we can mix and match plus all the models are different. This goes for the weapons as well. And the whole recolouring and changing the material and pattern helps make every Shepard look unique while in ME1 we all wore the same armour at the end of the game.
So ME2 > ME1.
Hence the dilema, some want statistical diversity over fashion diversity, and vise versa.
Take today, outside looks of a military item is mostly the same, what changes in what is maed out of and what it does.
Exp: Light kevlar helmet, standar hevlar helmet, almost the same, just one is thiner than the other.
Armor, different materials same vest that carriers the intended protective layer.
ALl that "unique" and through design would be perfect , I think, if it also applied to Squad mates... otherwise alot of the validity of having more unique looks is lost if squadies can't get them too.
IN the end, though I do like more the ME2 look from armors, a bit more unique, but if I had to choose between:
ME1:
Everyone gets similar look alike armor with different stats, or
ME2:
Play sims with my shepherd only while everyone else goes without....
would choose ME1... barely... but just because squadies get em.

As it stands it takes more shots and more time to take an enemy down with the Incisor than any other Sniper Rifle, which would be fine if it were balanced out by also being the most ammo efficient rifle; but instead its probably the most ammo inefficient gun in the game which makes it pretty much worthless unless you put it in the hands of a squamate.
Its a shame really, its a fun gun to use and it has the potential to be a great gun if it just had more ammo. I wish Bioware would patch the Incisior because its so close to being a great gun.

Same here. I hate the other helmets in the game except for the Dr. Pepper headgear and the Kuwashii visor. I wish they'd patch the skins so it doesn;t look like the visor is surgically attached to my scalp.
I wish that someone had playtested the skin for the Kestrel armor. The power modules on the greaves hang low and look like they are floating in mid air around my pistol whenvever I walk around in cutscenes.

Has anyone else noticed that, despite whatever upgrades for sniper rifles you may have, the Incisor is still listed as "M-29" and not "X-29e" (or however high you've upgraded it)? Is this indicative of a programming oversight, wherein the Incisor is not affected by upgrades, or is it just a graphical glitch? I've waited a good long time to nab this rifle & would just like to know it gets the same treatment as my Viper & Widow when it comes to upgrades.
From ME Wiki: "Like the Collector Assault Rifle the Incisor does not change its name designation like other weapons when upgrades are researched, according to Christina Norman this is a bug that applies to DLC , but only affects the name and performance is in fact upgraded."

Well that answers that - thank you very much. Can it be assumed the same goes for this (concerning Shield Upgrades / Squad Damage Reduction):
From ME Wiki:
"Note: The shield/barrier improvement will not show up in the squad menu of your allies during misssions. Most allies only have 250 shields/barrier during the entire game."

Do you need to buy these pieces in-game?
