The concept , originality and also the whole IMMERSION concept can, yes, overcome the fact at its structural core , yep it's very simple and BASIC. BUT i would hate if they'd do another DLC like Darkspawn chronicle. For the whole originality and novelty of the idea wouldn't be there and THEN, then yes it would totally suck. Darkspawn chronicle was a one time DLC concept.

Leliana's Song isn't trash but the awesomeness of the idea the voiced dialogue respond à la Mass Effect, how it'S all told in a Bardic tale too SCREAMS for something as polished nice as DAO: Origins and the usual captivating, enthralling as inspiring tales and characters that Bioware CAN do. Leliana song shouldn't have been such a short quick DLC but then one 2, thrice longer, to deepen, fine-tune the events and dialogues. Just too Quick and the Great soundtrack and Cinematic Cool bloodsplatter Fx with the IN your face Intro way and the good idea to put it all as Leliana being the narrator and words the dialogue choices her ways it's all SCREAMING for something deeper, LONGER, more elaborate. Not such a quick, rushed DLC. and as i was about close to end i was thinkign well at least the Armor will obviously look great well if so well it was ok....Wrong...:) Sorry I do not mean to bash on the designer or the modeler etc..But yes, the ARMOR is uninspiring, bland, even puny... Shouldn't it be from ORLAIS!..É ;) when you consider it somewhat represent Leliana's hardship through this ordeal and she would wear it In Origins and so on.... There is 3 or 4 free Armors mods fitted For Leliana in mind on Dragonagenexus. simple to find and Very pretty and Representative of her. Now Consider the fact I bet some if not a good deal of bioware's DAO staff knows about Dragonagenexus and some surely try the Mods as much as we do... I can't help to think the think was rushed or as they said i all experimental stuffs...Then It's ok but you shouldn't have picked Leliana's Past for that one. The concept idea shouldn't have been kept for something bigger. Half-way between a DLC and an expansion. Yes I'm just a customer , henceforth a tad idealistic and unaware of a PC/ Video Game company's ordeal and work-mechanic. ;P But then Many great successful products or artists or writers had 100's of refusals before that one publisher, company said yes and now it amongst those dreamy (lol xd) business success story...anyway I yap and rant now... shame on me <=)

Go on folks, post more I'm done with my yapping! ;D *smirks*

I deliberately didn't rush through this and explored every corner I could. I read all the codex, carefully set everyonces tactics up and still it lasted just over 3 hours. I cant see how anyone would extend the playing time beyond that.

It was a well done DLC with a good storyline, and I experienced no bugs or glitches.

I got the so called special armour (ho hum).

I enjoyed this but for $7.50AU it is overpriced and too short.

But it is definately the best DLC so far.

Could be a windows firewall issue, have you checked whether it has somehow been denied access?

I guess the price is how one look at it in generel. For me 4 euros / 7 dollars equals pretty much 1 beer a night on the town (actually some bars it equals only half a beer), so with that in mind 3 hours of entertainment was well worth that kind of expense. All a matter of how one rates these thing.

For me, this is the best Dragon Age DLC so far. It really made Leliana a much more interesting character, at least to me. But I think that the companions were also quite well done. Yes, they said little that had significance on the plot, but they made the atmosphere better for me. If BioWare releases more DLC of this quality, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

After all the positive reception I decided to buy it and just finished it. I liked it a lot. Nice characters, nice story, good VO, very good music. The downside is that is doesnt have any replayability after you got the achievements and nosed thru every corner in your playthrough.

On a actual DLC note i also give Bioware a gold star for the City Elf nod during this DLC

It was ok. took me about 3 hours and I dont think there was enough content to tempt me to play it again. It felt like a good amateur MOD. it used standard meshes/textures with different stats and names nothing to get excited about. It did not even seem that much thought had gone into the story line. Though cant be specific as it could be seen as a spoiler.
This quest should have been triggered by Leliana's personal quest in the main game and treated as a flash back.

To my mind these micro quests need to feed more into the core game. Unque items, playable characters.

Erm...I replayed DAO at least a dozen times. Because it is 'just good' AND because I can change my playthroughs every single time by making different decisions and choosing different angles. As nice as this DLC is, thats not the case. I played it twice now and it's done. I am glad you enjoy repeating the same thing over and over. Tho I wish I had the music score of this, now THAT I could listen to on repeat....Image IPB

I look at it this way:  it's a little longer than Eclipse, with better acting and a much better story, and costs less than going to see that piece of trash movie.  So...  considering that movie made $30mil in one night, I'd rather spend my money on this.  ;)

I bought the russian versions of the game and the expansion. I bought all DLC with russian localisation. How disappointing is that the Leliana's Song not supports russian, at least in text, not in game speech. Bioware, EA - shame, very shame!

It had been available for at least an hour and a half before you posted

Something else i noticed was people were mentioning different sizes for the file, i think it has something to do with whether you have awakenin or not as some of the areas are re-used, like the chantry is that of the one in amaranthine

I wonder whether Russian is simply late or there won't be one at all... And to get answer here is the only hope - EA Russia will never answer.

Next to Shale, best DLC to date, IMO. Loved the fully voiced option. The music was very effective. The pacing was just right. The Leliana intro and outro added a lot to this. Only complaint, too short, but isn't everything? I was kind of jarred by the character intros too, almost expected to see stats in them like in a football game, but that's just a minor observation. Leliana is one of my favs, so this was good. Thanks!
