Just to note: The Twitter annoucements were made in the dragonage and main Bioware accounts, but NOT in the masseffect feed. So I'm not expecting that this will be Mass Effect related. DA2 please!

I hope it's not DA2 - not that I don't want it, but because we've been aware of that for quite some time, so this may be something new......
That's something I can completely agree with. Besides I think it would be hilarious for this to turn out not being DA2 and forcing Kotaku to eat their assumption just like EA made GameSpot eat their fact-like announcements that ME3 and DA2 would be revealed at E3.

But I should also add that when I compared Leliana's song to recently released Overlord for ME2 and considered the fact that most of the maps were reused from DAO, I felt like Overlord offered better value for the same money.

But still it was a good DLC.

I’m likely to take a lot of flak for this since I’m probably in the minority on my views for this.
Sorry but this thing is not all that impressive. Yet again with BioWare downloads/expansions I’m disappointed. Honestly is this the best they can come up with? This thing is nothing but a mild diversion that does not even follow what we are told by Leliana as what even happened. I honestly think Darkspawn Chronicles is more fun than this thing. Even Leliana fans might find themselves scratching their head at why they bough this with all the odd twists to the story as told and what we get.
Good:
-A cameo appearance by **** was nice.
-A few interesting things in dialog hinting at how she chooses her new hair style you see in Origins.
-The companions are as usual a good group.
Bad:
-More than once did I find my sword and dagger mysteriously unequipped for no reason.
-Dialog glitches where Leliana or others are supposed to say something but all you get is the subtitles. Playtesters are obviously not used by BioWare anymore for anything they make.
-Revisiting the same locations in Denerim as well as Forlorn Cove from Awakenings is nothing but boring. I guess creating actual new locations to do these missions in would be to much to ask. You know someplace where this story was supposed to have actually have happened in, Orlais. Even seeing the same bodies in the dungeon was lame.
-Why even use the leveling for skills if you cant use most of them? Cant make potions or traps. You can choose Coercion but its pointless since you have no influence over anyone.
-To short to be really enjoyable. Playtime for this is really bad. I clocked in at just over 4 hours and I had the game on pause for a lot of that time. I would be willing to bet you could beat this in about an hour or an hour and a half at the most.
-Why is ***** weapon turned into a gift instead of a standard weapon? There is only two options who you would give it to, Leliana and ****. You get more gifts in Darkspawn Chronicles than this single one in this download. So why even have it turn into as a gift?
Very bad:
-Wasn’t Leliana captured in Orlais and imprisoned there? Not to mention the betrayal quest here doesn’t match what she tells us what happened in the DAO. She was sent to kill a man and retrieve papers on him but she opened them. Marjolaine turned her in to the Orlaisian guards not this lame attempt of a story and how it unfolds.
-Does anyone pay attention to what is established in the main game for these downloads and expansions?
The Questionable:
-The comic/cartoon like pause and splash of red we get when your introduced to each character you meet of importance. It was interesting when it first happens at the beginning but not through out the whole story. Did Quentin Tarantino direct this?
-The new combat music is nice and new but is almost annoying since a fight can be rather short so you sometimes don’t get to hear it.
-Tug, Sketch, Lem? Couldn’t think up better names? I know it’s a little thing but they still seems like cheesy names. “Tug on my finger please.” “Lets Sketch a new character design.” “Anyone want some Lemonade to drink while we think of names. Hmm lemon.. Hey, Mon! No that wont work.. Nades? No good either.. Lem!”. Larry, Moe and Curly would have been better, well maybe not...
-Climbing up into the estate really means climbing down into the dungeons?
-Getting tossed into the dungeon with your armor on?
-Seeing a chest full of your gear in a room that **** is a prisoner in. Makes sense to keep the weapons and their armor in the same room as the prisoners right?
-Seeing Marjolaine and Leliana’s relationship together was decent but it should have been expanded on a hell of a lot more that what we see here.
-Battledress of the Provocateur is kind of nice. To bad it looks exactly like most of the other armor we already get and its only the base armor and not a whole set. Why not make it look like the concept art armor you see her in?

This gets a 3 out of 10. It adds nothing really to the actual main game (DAO) beyond adding a piece of armor and a messed up version of a story we pretty much already knew.

well u might be a minority but i can believe what your saying. still deciding if i want this dlc or not but tbh i still dont realy feel any need to buy it. Could think of many other things id like to see from dlc then a story thats already been told, and given that almost everything dragon age related besides the game itself has been pretty poor still not sure i will bother will wait for more feed back first

The Q.T blood name thing...I kinda liked that too. But I am a Q.T fan so...
The sideways glance had me roaring with laughter. Will we get a mage (Wynne?) and warrior (Logain?) one too?

I don't know if anyone is aware of it but the armor is also available in Awakening as a 10.5 as appose to the 9 in DAO. It is sad that Leliana doesn't appear in Awakening -- especially if your male or female character was romancing her.
For me Leliana is as much apart of the DAO experience as the character that you create. That all being said, I suppose that it would be too much of a minumental task to create such a thing.
Still, I would pay another $40 for and expansion that includes Leliana and Silas. Silas is a much better chacacter than that cry baby Alister. I don't know what more I can say --except thanks Bioware. Keep up the good work!

I totally agree with your points. The story doesn't match up with what Leliana describes in DAO. I noticed that the writer was not Sheryl Chee and he obviously took A LOT of liberties with the story. It shouldn't have taken place in Ferelden, for starters, and Leli and Marjolaine's relationship seemed really superficial and was barely explored at all.Darth Drago wrote...

Having already heard Leliana’s story about what happens in Origins, playing this thing just seems half done and thought out to me. A lot of pointless killing of to many guards (what were there, about 15 of them at a low guess?) in the market because bards are supposed to be frontline killers now? What ever happened to blending in?
"A bard must know history so she does not repeat it. She tells the tales but is never part of them. She watches but remains above what she sees. She inspires passions in others and rules her own." -from Dragon Age The Stolen Throne. So much for not being a part of the tale.
To bad they didn’t take their time with this and expand it to actually be worth replaying more than it takes to get the achievements. They could have given us a glimpse of a city in Orlias instead of reusing Denerim. They could have also expanded a lot more on the story and the relationship between Leliana and Marjolaine as well as the other companions. Give us some real insight as to the reasons for Marjolaine’s betrayal. Even have Leliana and Marjolaine as the only members of a group for a few quests. Its never even explained as to why Leliana has 2 companions in the first place that are not bards themselves.
So much they could have done but didn’t because they wanted a quick short download. If they had made it to the size of a typical Bethesda download for thier games this could have been truley great, if it was done right that is.
Getting nickeled and dimed with short little adventures for ME2 and DAO is really getting old, especially when the last few for DAO adds nothing to the main game at all.

My main problems were the fact that the armour you find looks so boring and the fact that I had to run around Denerim again. I was really hoping for new scenery, not reusing one of the more boring locations in DA:O.
Otherwise this DLC is right up there as one of my favourites.

But my one complaint is the special armor (that I now have in all my DA:O games) is another suit of ugly leather with an S&M collar. Yippie...
