Well, this was a great DLC.   Right up to the part where I had to remove all my mods, and still Liliana's Song doesn't work.  Nothing I tried advanced the quest part past Benn Perrin.  Him and his guards just stood there, I could not talk to them nor did they attack.  I repatched the game, uninstalled third party mods, nothing helped.

I even had the mage light them on fire, still nothing!  What a disappointment!

The ambient and combat music should be standard for the whole series
- it fits better in than most of the orchestral annoyance in da: o.

A biiter pill though that against Leliana's convo (the orlisian guards confronted her
with Marjelaine's forgery of the papers) all the sudden the dlc is set in Denerim.

I really would've forgotten about that while playing if it wasn't for the quest journalentry
abou the Loose Tongue who 'fled to Orlais and tries to gain entry into a safehouse
there'
- the qa should have at least realized that Denerim is a city in Ferelden, really :P

i like this DLC.
The style is refreshing.
Cool setup. Cool music (combining classic with modern jazzpop works out great).
Fantastic, voice also for the own character.
Feels good, style remembers somewhat of reservoir dogs when it was fresh.
..Fast refreshing and good..

only "-" point is about having choices: you dont really have them.

Kudos.
Rises expectations for DAO2. May make Qunar with hons a less painful experience afterall :o)

I really disliked this DLC. I hated the faux lesbianism between Marjorlaine and Leliana and the fact that you killed off Tug and instantly replaced him with another character of no consequence. For the price tag it was pretty short, but the item i've got out of it was pretty alright.

"Faux lesbianism"? I thought it was pretty obvious that they were in a relationship. Should they have shoehorned in an unnecessary love scene?

And the DLC took me about four hours to complete, which is pretty decent for about $7.

Yeah, it was obvious that they were lovers even before the DLC was released-- Leliana makes that clear. Faux lesbianism amuses me as a term though.

Seriously... Tug made me want to cry. I was devastated.

yea the dlc was great. i got the sense Marjolaine was just using Leliana. Leliana may have loved her but Marjolaine didnt love her the same.

Finally got a chance to play this straight through. First time I played it, I kept getting interrupted. Loved it! The music went great w/ this dlc, light and nimble, but had thump, not unlike a bard. Corinne Kempa was great. Being a "prequel" of sorts to DA, the game is understandably devoid of any real choices, but the ability to mold Leliana's character through dialog made up for that, at least for me. The framed narrative structure worked well for this dlc, but I'm not sure I want to play a whole 30+ hour game like that. Yes, I'm looking at you, DA2 (but that is for another thread). That said, I would welcome more dlc of certain characters (Morrigan!) in this style. The only nits I have about LS are some of the Orlesian accents and the score cards were a bit of a "wtf" moment. All in all, a job very well done for BW. Thanks!

You're right, I could have termed that better.

The only problem I had with the DLC was with the setting. In Origins she specifically states that she was tortured by Orlesian Guards. That makes me believe that the story she told the warden took place in Orlais, not in Ferelden. Otherwise, I really like the music and the story. It's too bad that Bioware can't seem to keep their backstories straight.

It was a great story, loved the characters, hated to lose Tug, but enjoyed the revenge.

Just curious; what were you trying to say?

More on topic:
Started this a couple of hours ago, and was completely sucked in right through to the end. Best dlc I've ever played and I liked the Adaia cameo. Oddly enough I ended up feeling a bit sorry for Marjolaine, though. She seemed more mentally disturbed (paranoid to extreme, pathological levels) than anything (not saying it excuses anything tho). I really liked the ending scene where Leliana faces Marjolaine.

didn't she at the end of the dlc say that she may have made parts of it up to to fit the person she was telling the story to?  As for the DLC itself it was great, longer than I expected and pound for pound better than awakenings...and the batlledress of the provacatouer is a great item...

So... is there an ETA on this DLC in region 3?

Seriously?

Leliana's Song: $7 for 2 hours == $3.5 for 1 hour (all locations are recycled)
Awakening: $40 for 30 hours == $1.3 for 1 hour (all new locations and much more)

Hope you enjoy getting nickel and dimed with these bull**** DLCs like LS.

And they forced you to buy which one exactly? If you do not like the DLC snackbar, then don't buy from there.

I'm usually the first person to criticize DLC based on its value against the main game's price. So, I suppose I'll try to keep things fair and balanced by pointing out that this comparison seems a bit exaggerated.

LS seems to be taking people 2-4 hours, so 3 hours is probably a more fair marker. So $2.33 for 1 hour.

Awakening seemed to take people closer to 20 than 30 hours. So it's probably closer to $1.5 or even $1.8 per hour than $1.3.

However, I'll also go from the other angle and point out that, as a retail release, Awakening boxes and digital sales could be found for $20 within a month or two of release. Effectively doubling the value for price-minded consumers who were willing to wait a bit.

In contrast, while I think the Xbox versions of Dragon Age DLC recently had a sale.... has there ever been a sale or price lowering on PC DLC? It seems a bit silly that late comers to the franchise can snag Origins for $25 or less now, but something like Return to Ostagar is still $5.
And there's my DLC rant for the month. Yahoo :P

Quoted for truth.

I don't understand why it is so hard for people to see that it's normal for things to work out that way. Buying in smaller units usually translates to increased cost in all areas.

Should people stop buying individual movies because buying TV seasons gives more hours per dollar? Essentially, the anti-DLC argument is the same.

A fairer comparison would be "should people stop buying individual episodes of TV shows (now possible via services like iTunes, Amazon, etc) because buying full TV seasons gives more hours per dollar?"

Which is something of a fair point. Translated over to gaming it becomes:
"should people stop buying DLC because within a year or two a game of the year edition with all the dlc included (rumored "Dragon Age Ultimate Edition" in this case) and bug fixes will come out at a large net savings."

I recently did something similar with Borderlands. It wasn't a game I wanted to spend a full $50 on (since I couldn't see myself replaying it over and over like some people do), and I certainly wouldn't want to spring $10 for 3 DLC packs (though the third pack was worth that price, as it happens).
When Steam put the game up on sale for $10 and the DLC for $3.33 each it was an instant purchase.

If they hadn't of put the DLC on sale, they would have only wringed $10 out of my wallet instead of $20.

except that to feel that way I would have to think awakenings was of better quality - which I do not...what I meant was that while l awakenings may have been an expansion it was imo kind of boring, easy, and felt really disconnected from the warden I was playing it played like a dlc...I wish the storytelling and care for the characters that went into LS had been put into awakenings because it played like an expansion -  again MY OPINION only...

Wow.

How is a 2 hour DLC with like 3-4 characters better than a full expansion pack with... with... LOTS of stuff?! The Architect alone is more interesting than anything in LS.

Also, Jesus Christ, it's AWAKENING, not AWAKENING-S.

I'm curious; Will this DLC ever be fixed? I have to this day that Leliana is bald and a nasty crash when trying to access the desk... Now with the last DLC announced, can we still expect some fixes or is it fully over after that?

I know this is extremely immature, but a thought just occured to me... picture this in your mind for a second, someone with a lisp saying "Leliana's song".

...Yeah.
