I really enjoyed playing this particular DLC --- especially since Leliana has always been my favorite.

I have played and replayed this DLC 6 times today trying to get the leather armor, but to no avail. This one that I just now finished I had four pieces of the armor The one that the Big mouth had, The one in the master bedroom and two in the second part of the Arl's Estate --in the weapons room and the other in the chest. There was nothing in the Chantry, however.

Again, though, as mush as I liked playing Leliana's Song, I will probably never play it again. I mean, what's the point if you can't get or keep the fancy leather armor. I guess i got my $6 worth. I did play it six times. Thanks.

Heh, um, I kind of find this amusing. It's a bit like saying. 'What's the point of reading that graphic novel if they won't give me a suit."

I know this may come off as an absolute shock to some but a simple google search rendered an achievement guide for Leliana's Song......I can 1,000,000% confirm its information and even more shocking may be that this has been up since before 10 am PST on July 6th.....at least 11 hours now so I think it's sad to see people crying about being unable to get the armor seeing as you getting the armor earns you an achievement.

You think it's funny do you?  Just like in Awakening you are suppose to be able to transfer you Origins characters over to Awakening, which you can: and, I do. That was in part why I spent the $6 dollars.  I want to get what I paid for: and that was part of the promo. Understood?!?

Only you are to blame for your incompetence......if not at the game then at performing a simple google search for an achievement guide that has been up for a very looooooooong time. see my post above for a link.

How dare you insult my intelligence? Who the hell are you, anyway? I bet you'd never say that to my face, because you wouldn't have one left!?!

Calm down dudes. Maybe part of Jal's problem is that he rushed. Try again another day, add a lot of cunning and the deft hands skills, and save a lot. I got it the first time, had to redo the career ending quest... which took me like 5 minutes LOL

Here is where I stand with her damn stats:

Strength - 23
Dexterity - 40
Willpower - 21
Magic - 14
Cunning - 19
Constitution -11

I also have the attribute -- Mechanical Expertise

I still cannot open those last three chest in the Arl' Estate, to get the leather armor pieces, before the **** betrays Leliana: and, we have to fight our way back out. I really don't want to have to fight the game. It isn't enjoyable, as you no doubt can tell.

I just want to play and enjoy the game. What does it take to popen all of the chest and beat the Commander in the final battle?

My first playthrough I only had 2 points in Deft Hands (I'm guessing this is what your game calls Mechanical Expertise) and I wasn't able to open the chest in the Arl's bedroom.  The second time I had Deft Hands at level 3 (which requires a 20 cunning) and had no problem.  So with a cunning of 20 and Deft Hands at 3, you should be able to get that chest open.  After that I did finish up Deft Hands to level 4 (which requires 22 cunning) and was able to open everything else in the game with no further boost to cunning.  Since I didn't have Lethality in this build I saw no point to take cunning any further.

Here is my short checklist for battle armor pieces:

Denerim market - 1 piece
Arl estate (first time) - 2 pieces
Arl estate (second time) - 2 pieces
Chantry - 1 piece

I would recommend checking your save games at the end of each of the above section and see how many pieces you have.  That will help you identify the one you are missing.

The soundtrack is superb. Simply a masterpiece, "Captivity" in particular. Does anyone know if it will be available to buy?

Ahhhh Bioware can pat themselves on the back at last, after 2 meh DLC & a buggy expansion they finaly got a DLC right~! Excellent cinematic quality to it, much of which is better than the cut scenes in Origins, definetly leaves me hopeful that Dragon Age 2 will benifit greatly from this quality in cut scene cinematics alone

The rest too was quite great voice acting/new music/length/reward, i am a satisfied customer at last~!

I just don't like being insulted. And, I haven't rush through the game either. There was nothing in the Chantry. Somewhere in the fist part of the Arl's Estate is where I couldn't find the third piece. There and in the Chantry, there was no drawer, no chest and no cabnet to open. I am not stupid.

I'm a sucker for any DLC, but this one is a cut above the rest. Very cinematic and focused on narrative. My only complaint is the reused areas, but I expected that. I got all the armor pieces on the first playthrough. What helps is too press and hold down the tab key whenever you're in a new room. This highlights any items in the room. Something I've noticed is that often the game is very picky about where you place the mouse before the cursor changes into one of the symbols to pick up items. I noticed the drawer in the chantry was like that. It's under a Burreau mirror, or something like that, off to the side in the room you appear in.

I have been in that room six times and nothing. I also know about the "TAB" function. I have been playing DAO for awhile now.  I use the "TAB" more than any other key it seems. Sometimes you have roll over the object several times before the cursor changes and you click on it. It is a pain in the ass.

Yes there IS an armor piece in the chantry......right in the room where you take control of Leliana and all the other pieces are exactly where the directions say they are. MANY others have earned the achievement and the armor so all 6 pieces are clearly in the DLC......I don't know what you are lacking that makes you unable to find them even with clear directions but one thing is certain: it's NOT the game's fault.

the fifth and final piece is indeed in the chantry and its in the very first room you find yourself in, in the chantry. Now here is a tip, when searching in DA just hold Tab key and look around. In this case you will find "Desk Drawer". Open it (its not even locked) and you get the last piece.

Great DLC btw i intend to play through it for the second time this time paying more attention to the dialog. i found the accents rather irritating but will listen to them again to better understand the half- formed story. But the character interaction was much better than awakening especially the inter NPC banter. Now hoping for even bigger DLC for DA hopefully on the adventures of Zevran :)

@seanu......you mean the SIXTH and final piece is in the Chantry.....not the fifth because you will NOT complete the quest, get the achievement or receive the armor with just 5 pieces. You NEED all 6.

Anyway, there is no point in arguing about the armor or the use of the "TAB" function. I am tired of being called stupid. Nor, have I ever said it was the game's fault.

Oops i forgot, yes that is the sixth one.

@Jallard ... i also read that you missed one in the Arl's place, if i remember correctly one of the pieces is in a far more obscure room which is optional and has more soldiers. But knowing bioware you should comb every room before moving on.

I even alerted all the guards and had a huge patrol with a boss soldier attack me in the market. All to make sure i wasnt missing anything.

Even with the proper stats there were doors that I could not open. I even tried to back track in the Arl's Estate, but Bioware won't let you. You could TAB all day and nothing. As far as the soldiers in Denerin's marketplace I too killed all of them and searched the entire area. That Mage's Collective quest was joke.

I get so disappointed whenever I open a chest and find only one single mushroom, a single elfroot, or  whateever in them.

Just finished playing the new DLC. (Took me 4 1/2 hours to do, since I'm the kind of player who takes his time with a new game.) Bioware, you not only deserve a pay raise for this DLC, you should also get a gold star for the fun misadventure you have given us. Now, about the patch we've been waiting for...

I found that I couldn't open a chest in the master bedroom for one of the leather pieces, so I went back to an earlier save game and redid my stats and talents, which left me with I think 22 cunning and open locks at tier3, this did the trick.

Oh and agree, who on earth would lock a chest with only a deep muchroom in it? ...Maybe it's a magic mushroom uuuhhh :-)

Just finished the first time and it is much better than Warden's Keep IMHO.

At least I didn't feel being cheated like WK.

However, it could be better if Bioware put this DLC into the main game as a rather long flashback which activate by new conversation/event with Leliana instead of serparate module.
