almost all of my "official" dlc --stuff actually purchased from bioware/ea-- is on unauthorized status.

has anyone found a reliable fix/workaround??

the one amending an xml file looked promising but didn't work for me.

becuase I have not seen a solution posted elsewhere I will post mine here.

This is directly from EA online chat service and more importantly... it worked for me!  :)

PRE-fix attempt: BACKUP your current dragonage files, and I recommend creating a new restore point as well then try this if you want too. It worked for me; however, your mileage may vary:

1. Shut down Dragon Age: Origins
2. In Windows, press the 'Start' button and select 'Run'  <<< or hold the "windows" key and press 'R'
3. In the command line type 'net stop DAUpdaterSvc' <<< without the singlequotes
4. Navigate to 'My Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings' and delete 'Manifest.xml' and 'Offers.xml'and 'addins.xml'
5. Navigate to 'My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age' and delete the 'Offers' folder
6. Navigate to 'C:\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\All Users\\\\Application Data\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\' and delete the 'DAUpdater' folder

^^^^   note to vista and 7 users...it will be in C:\\\\Program Data\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\DAUpdater  ^^^^

7. Navigate to 'C:\\\\My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder
8. In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'  <<< again without the singlequotes
9. Restart Dragon Age: origins and log in

I hope this helps anybody else that comes across the "unauthorized " problem - it did work for me  :)

*edit: added backup reminder*

Yep... over 70 hours of game time... and now this. I do not think I will be buying Bioware software again. This is just wrong. I paid for it. My game worked. Now nothing does. No one can help. No one officially is even acknowledging the problem. END RESULT... Most likely I have lost a few hundred bucks on the two games Origins and Awakenings... that does not appear any more... and all the DLC I PAID for. Tried every possible solution... nothing... Tried EA on-line.. and e-mail... several times... Nothing... they just send you a link to some fan posted work around... I am sure a few legal firms would like a go at this one :)

@Slipknotts... did that one too... Did not work... Leliana's Song was suddenly authorised, however, my other DLC then were not. Dark Spawn Chronicles became unauthorised and Awakenings has vanished entirely. Talk about a Mass Effect... this 1.03 patch or Leliana thing has destroyed many, many peoples games. Bad, Bad, Bad!

I don't know if anyone have tried this, but in the PC-version it is the Content uploader that might have stopped working... Mine does this all the time...

to solve, press the Windows symbol + R and type Services.mcs, scroll down to Dragon Age:Origins Content uploader and press Start on the left column... if it is already started just stop and start it again... should work like a charm...

I bought this DLC yesterday and now I can not play it at all because of this problem!

It is crime to sell this kind of crap! Thanks again for DRM system I have wasted hours of my life because of legal purchase. I will start to get my games again from some other sources.

Whelp I downloaded and installed LS on the PC and saw that it was unauthorized and got the "Cannot Load Module" blip, which lead me here. I read through the topic, hoping for a solution, and after reinstalling it three times I went through the menus looking for anything I missed.

Then I noticed my game hadn't logged me in like it usually did and I had been logged out the whole time. Feeling silly, I logged in expecting the problems to be solved immediately.

Unfortunately the exact opposite of that happened and now all of the official DLC ( You know, he stuff I paid for) is "unauthorized", keeping me from doing, well, anything.
Son of a ****...

i think the solution is to install patch 1.04 after you have installed everything else. it looks like if you install a dlc after the patch it will screw up your game...save you game toons, uninstall everything. reinstall everything including the dlc's then apply patch 1.04....anyhow....that is what victor said when he dished out his read me for the patch....

First of all, GFY

Second, *all* my dlc became unauthorized, I did not find a solution on the forums here that worked; I contacted ea and this was their solution -- and like I said:

IT WORKED FOR ME that's why I posted it.

However, as with anything in life, your actual mileage may vary. That sucks that it didn't work for you, but maybe you did something else wrong besides delete your saved game files.

For future reference, anytime you are going to alter files because of a system/program malfunction you should ***ALWAYS*** backup your current data first and I would recommend a new restore point as well.

Maybe I should have mentioned that in my post, but I figured that it was common knowledge as well as common sense...yet it seems that you don't posses either :P

I've tried everything people listed. If I log-out, then back in on the DLC page it is then all authorized. Then I try to load a saved game, and it states that the DLC needs to be active in order to play.

nice to see that someone listened to ones tips... it also seems that if the game still complains about DLC after this, it might be because the game updates the Bioware points... just wait out this update before you try to reload... also, sometimes my games keeps getting unauthorized if I try to change character after restarting the DACU so just resume latest played character and then switch characters in-game...it seems that sometimes, switching characters might screw things up...

oh, and credit to credit due... it was the EA-support that told me about this simple solution... :innocent:

as I wrote, check if the Bioware points are updating... this seems to stop the game to authorize purchased/redeemed DLC

Hey fellas! I also had this problem just a few mins ago but i fixed it in under 2 mins! This is how i did it! (This solution wont risk that u delete ya savings or something like that)

1. Download the DAO Mod Manager from here: http://www.dragonage...oad.php?id=4006 (This is a direct download link)

2. Extract the Mod Manager. (You can extract it anywhere on ya computer)

3. Run it and ya should se your installed DLC's in a list to the left.

4. Rightclick on the "Leliana Song" DLC

5. Press "Uninstall".

6. Now the only thing left is to reinstall the DLC and it should work fine!

This worked for me and i did it just 5 mins ago!

Hope it helps!

I can´t find that "content uploader" program, in which folder did you find it? The Wndows + r didn´t show anything...

then you must have done something wrong... windows + R... then write 'services.msc' (without quotes)... the window displayed will have a lot of programs that you can start or restart or stop... scroll down in the right window until you find Dragon Age: Origin Content Uploader... Now klick start or restart in the left column...

On another note, it seems that after the patch when I try to reload my games and the authorization thingie comes up, the Bioware Points in the DLC starts to update... after this update all my unathz gets athz.... so it seems that they have "fixed" the authz probs... although it takes half a minute for the game to see this... B)

I looked this up and indeed my program reads being stopped. However, when I try to Start it, I get a pop-up saying that it stopped automatically and is designed to do so. Any suggestions on how to stop this from automatically stopping each time I try to start it?

Update: Using, the fix here (http://social.biowar...63427/1#3341143) I got rid of my authorization problems, but now I can't "load module" for my games. Any suggestions?
