Even though this topic is six months old, I still wanted to comment on the issue being discussed. Before the arrival of mods and patches, the general rule of thumbs was - 'If what is inside the box does not match what is advertised (package design, ad design, commercial, etc...), you have a right as an consumer to demand a full refund. Or, you can just turn the company into the BBB for fraud.' Since game and entertainment stores do not give out refunds for software, consumer rights are lost due to strict policies in regards to said products.
Now, lets play out the devil's advocate scenario for a moment. As a result of being protected by store policies, game companies are able to keep their money regardless. Other words, even though you may be a dissatisfied customer, you can not teach them a lesson by returning your purchased item. Its a win-win for game developers and publishers.
Now, if I go by what was in the online advertisement, the outfit seen in the "Leliana's Song" video would be called 'Battledress of the Provocateur'. Other words, we didn't get what was being advertised.
Finally, regardless about how people spin this whole mess, BioWare was bought and now owned by Electronic Arts. BioWare is now a brand (a branch) of Electronic Arts. Same company, different office. They are both responsible for this mess.
(If a game developer or publisher is relying on modders, to enhance their games, they are not holding themselves up to higher standards in product quality. Obsidian Entertainment is a shinning example of such failure. I am very suprised that BioWare would fall to such lazy standards.)
