Seems like these three could be brothers. They are fairly alike. Not that it is anything wrong with it but why does BW create male major support characther that is very nice, have a troubled background and reclusive.
Carth, Kaidan and now Alistair

That's nothing. Bastilla and Morrighan might as well be the same person. (Are they voiced by the same person? I should probably look that up some time.)

Indeed. Alistair IS awesome, he really grows on you and he isnt whiny has his forefathers.
Bastilla and Morrigan does have similar personalities. Mages and Jedis you know (think they are superior)

Carth was an idiot. Allistair is a much better character.

When the formula works, don't mess with it. People either love or love to hate carth/kaidan/alister. In ME, I used to keep kaidan in my party low on health just so I could hear the arrrrrrrrrrg he makes when he gets one-shotted. And, I must have played kotor 25 times all the way through until I discovered the right combination of events that would allow me to kill carth. I haven't figured out how to torture alister yet, but I will.

Carth, Kaidan and Alistair indeed. I love all of them. As much as I love Sbarge's voice I wasn't too dissapointed about Alistair's. I haven't looked up his voice actor yet, but I'm quite fond of it.
On the flip side I also hate those three so much. They alaways manage to seduce me into being neutrel when I want to be evil.

What game is Kaidan from? Jade Empire? Then again, it might be Mass Effect since that game wasn't very memorable to me.
I think Morrigan and Bastilla are actually surprisingly similar aside from the morals. I wouldn't be surprised if some fanfiction arises where darkside Bastilla decides to just ignore Revan and the Star Forge and travels back in time and takes up Morrigan as her cover.

I dunno. I just didn't like the gameplay that much and the characters didn't really stand out to me.
Dragon Age, Neverwinter Nights, and KOTOR, however, are superb.

Talking about ME. How about Wrex and Sten. From a warrior culture, doesnt say much, dislike friendly manners, big, his race waged war against rest of the world/galaxy

Checking the credits right now. (Is there an achievement for reading them? I usually wait until I complete the game once.)
Still checking...
Lots and lots of names of important and semi-important people. Multiply that by 10+ and you'll get a rough guess on how many people were involved in this with so many unnamed heroes. Kudos to the cat-herders in this project. (I wonder if they're names are somewhere in there.)
Still going...
In a movie, voices are usually listed long before now. We're already on QA...
Additional QA...
Marketing...
Why do I know the name Jay Watamaniuk? Did he work for another famous software co?
Special Thanks...
Tim Curry??? Really???
Claudia Black =/= Jennifer Hale, so no. Morrighan and Bastilla are not voiced by the same person.
*whew* long list...

I think it is a credit to the writers and to Raphael Sbarge that Carth and Kaiden are such memorable characters.

Carth- I hated, Kaiden- I liked, Alistair- I hated. It's a vicious cycle. I hated Carth because he's winy and Alistair reminds me of that winyness.

I have to agree, I adore Alistiar but i hated Carth and Kaiden. I could **** those 2 out like it was nothing. But when you get to know Alistair I had issues hurting him, it was hard to bring myself to.

Indeed. I for one was incredibly happy about hearing Tim Curry's voice in this game. It just made it even more epic though I must admit that I had a sick thought about Arl Howe breaking out into the "Sweet Transvestite" song. It's the little things that amuse me.
As far as the main point of this topic, I'm a big fan of Bioware's leading men. Sure, they may be tortured (read: whiny) souls and whatnot, but that makes it more fun to "fix" them.

I mentioned this to a friend, the lack of Jennifer Hale in the game, and they said, "Wha-wait a minute. Is it ALLOWED to make a videogame in North America without Jennifer Hale?"
Though I'm not completely convinced -- despite the fact that she should be deep into sessions for ME2, plus the thirty other games she'll probably be doing somehow simultaneously, a) Mark Meer is listed in the credits, and
I couldn't find Grey DeLisle in the list yet I could SWEAR I've heard her Azula/Handmaiden/Random-Semi-Evil-Asari voice in there a few times.
Oh, and Carth ROCKED, Kaidan rocked HARDER, and Alistair, the jury's still out but give me a few more days playing to decide. But early indicators suggest to me show signs of rockage.
