The Dragon Age 2 team got all their "bad news" out of the way early. They caught a lot of crap, but ultimately, they're better off getting it out of the way to allow anticipation to build with no future setbacks or stumbling blocks

Edit: Although, I guess "early" is a relative term. That game comes out in 8 months. We're not as far along the ME3 schedule.

People believe me over you because I use sources to draw my conclusions. I don't simply speculate and then state my opinion as fact. I get my information from sources. Something you've yet to do. Sounds to me like your upset that only about 2-3 people believe your "placeholder" theory. That happens when you don't provide sources to go with your claims.

Sigh I knew I couldn't get through to you lol. Well anyway, you think most will return as cameos. I think they wont all be cameos or DLC. Its likely some can come back in all forms, I just see DLC for all of them as the least likely approach. Some squad mates as re-recruits if they survived from the get go, all optional like a lot of other squadmates have been. There really aren't too many reasons against either case. Kasumi and Zaeed do seem like the e-mail type though seeing as how they were DLC to begin with. My actual bottom line is don't be so quick to rule out anything. I'm not. You shouldn't.

@Smudboy, congrats on building a real response argument.

Proper reply; I believe A is in fact false. Why: Because X is in fact C therefore A could not be true.

Yea it would be a good move to make a statement sometime soon I wouldn't be surprised, did they already have their go at Gamescon in Germany (if at all) I haven't really been following it much. It would help settle negative speculation and let people get hyped for any positive hint drops.

That's not the case. Unlike you, I'd be the first to admit I was wrong, but only if proven wrong. Individually, not as a whole, and then analyze why they COULD return, individually, not as a whole squad, but on an individual level.

I made no such absolute statements. I said it would be inconsistent with past Bioware games to start a game with a full squad that has their loyalty set already. It is because of that I expect there will be new squad members regardless of how many are saved. That does not mean all are new as I expect Liara and Ashley/Kaiden will return along with Miranda or her sister. Legion could also be easily returned regardless of ME2 status. The others I suspect will not be part of the squad but will be available in cameos similar to Wrex, Shiala, etc. I can't prove this nor can you prove what you believe. It is all supposition.

I just finished Awakening yesterday. Boy, oh boy, do I have a lot to say about how BioWare avoids handling continuity as much as they possibly can. Maybe I'll get to it tomorrow.

Wow, you go to work for 8 hours and the thread degenerates into this mess....

I hate the internet, call me old fashioned but when I was a lad and I didn't agree with somebody this much we'd go to the pub, get smashed and just solve it with a round or two. This whole thing would be easier at the pub. With beers. And fists. Instead we get sarcasm and nice pictures(though I do like the pictures).  Damn the internet and the ability to argue with people that are out of arms reach... so unsatifying.

Oh well, hopefully whatever is being so passionately fought over will have subsided by the morning(just like a good pub scrap) and we can get back to the business of failing to agree with one another. Looking forward to it. Cheers.

Well its how I interpreted your earlier statement. Turns we're pretty much in agreement though. I don't think you'd get your party at the beginning by default I think you'd at least have an ME1 style meet and greet with any who return. And yea we can't prove it. At best they're educated guesses and thought out assumptions, you did bring something to my attention I never thought of though, Legion is a machine, he can come back no matter what since he could just get a new body (I'd love a red one) he just wouldn't have Shepard's N7 piece.

Actually I think it'd be better as just an "They're two different teams". To which you could reply "well then we'll wait and see who gets to say I told you so" and that would kill it right there.
