JEW;
LIFE IN THE DENERIM GHETTO WAS ALWAYS A TOUGH LIFE . EVERY DAY WAS A STRUGGLE FOR FOOD, WATER OR YOUR OWN LIFE AS THE SECRET PARAMILITARY GROUP, THE TEMPLARS WERE ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR HERESY.

100% INCREASED MONETARY GAIN
GETS A SPECIAL ABILITY - CONTROL THE MEDIA
NEGATIVE DISPOSITION FROM EVERYBODY ELSE.

IS THIS A COOL RACE, BROS? IT'S VERY UNIQUE.

Ooh, now you've got me thinking what would happen if a darkspawn took the final blow to the archdemon. Hmm.

The same thing as if it were killed by anyone but a grey warden, the soul of the archdemon would inhabit its body.

But I think the real question you are trying to ask is does the Architect have a soul?

More suggestions for origin stories:

Chasind Wilder:

Born amongst the enclosed society of the Chasind Wilders deep within the Korcari Wilds, your experience of the world has been limited at best. Superstition and false fear prevent you from venturing too close to civilisation... until now. You come across an injured man in the wilds. You defend him valiantly from bandits looking to rob his possesions. He reveals himself as a Grey Warden, searching for recruits to join his order. Eager to see the outside world, you agree to join the Wardens, starting a new chapter in your life.

Human Commoner(I know it was removed from the game but I would like to see it):

You were born in the pretty, picturesque town of Lothering. You have led an unremarkable life so far as the youngest son/daughter of an innkeeper. Your dream is to join the army and defend Ferelden. To that end you are a skilled swordsman/woman. Set upon by the local bullies, you defend yourself expertly, your skills catching the eye of a passing Grey Warden. Wanting battle and excitement, you accept his invitation to become a Grey Warden.

I still think they should have put in a commoner option for humans.

I agree, it seems silly to only allow humans to be nobles or mages.
Also, I don't see what the problem with the human commoner origin was in the first place.

Maybe because most past Bioware games have been done around a Canon Human Commoner storyline; at least that's what Bioware developers have said was the reason it was cut.

No, it's stupid. Dwarves have commoner and noble. Elves have three picks. Humans have...just noble and blah mage.

You never know, maybe Bioware will address this problem.

After all, they cut Shale and then put him back in, why not do the same.

I suppose killing archdemon as a Darkspawn makes a lot of sense then. As for Architect, I bet he'd say that he don't believe in soul.

Does anyone have more ideas for origin stories other than the ones already posted?

If so, post them and I'll come up with a backstory and description for them.

Pride Demon maybe? They're sapient, they can inhabit human body and retain human-like look, and they prey upon humans/elves, which means they're not interested in Archdemon wiping out all their prey.

Pride Demon:

You are a demon who preys upon mages who flirt too closely with forbidden powers. Your view of the darkspawn conflict is a practical one. You take the side of the humans, elves and dwarves, not for altruistic reasons, but simply because you wish for a continued supply of prey to stalk, hunt and possess. When a Grey Warden searching for recruits discovers your secret, he is surprisingly acceptant for a human, inviting you to join their ranks to fight the darkspawn. For your own selfish reasons you accept his invitaiotn.

dog

Mabari Hound:

You were the hound of a Grey Warden killed by a roving band of darkspawn two months before the king's army gathered at Ostagar. Without a master, your instincts push for revenge against the darkspawn, so you stay with the Grey Wardens to take vengeance for your master.

Hm... What about a Revenant? They once was human... And if you wear a helmet noone will see that you have no face at all. Of course, problem with golems and such is that they can't become Wardens and must have someone else to do the archdemon slaying, but such Warden can be forced into party in final battle...

How does the dog lead the party...? Also there would be a lot of getting sidetracked in the name of a bone or a side of beef. And dialogue... I shudder.

From what I remember, Revenants are simply unfortunate individuals who have been posessed by a demon of Pride or Desire. Seeing as Pride Demon has already been mentioned, I don't see much point, but that's just my opinion.
