The thing about the armour upgrades that really p"%$$es me off is that, you can't give armour to squad members!!!

I want Grunt to have Krogan Battlemaster Armour

Garrus to have his Inferno armor etc...

I would only buy a DLC that gave characters new armour sets!!

I think a lot of people would like a ME1 armor pack for aesthetic reasons alone. It could contain the light medium and heavy versions of each of the ME 1 styles and then they could be colored to player preference in the same way that the N7 stuff is (or they could be just their original colors). The armor stats could be adjusted to be balanced within ME2 - although it's hard to even notice the slight differences between armor pieces in ME2 now anyway. I would like to have something like this just for variety and looks. Couldn't be hard to make for download since it's from the first game.

I wonder how many armour packs we're going to see? This Kestrel armour has been sat around for ages (the promo pics for the Arc Projector released back in early March showed Shep wearing a full Kestrel suit, minus only the helmet). So in essence, it could have been released with the Arc Projector.

Obviously the release of these things is quite strategic. I'm thinking so that it gives the impression of a steady flow of content. I am really torn on it all. I never thought I would buy armour, but I have and I like it. I'd much rather see more substantial content though. Overlord was really nice, I'd love to see more of that, but something even meatier, even if it cost more.

Like I said in the other thread. There's no point to this since we've beaten the game a million times now and did it just fine with the armor that came with the game.

Save new gear for the xpack, assuming ME2 gets one.

I really liked how armors in ME2 were well designed with the slight customization features like the various armors: Helmets, Shoulder Pads, Leggings, Type of Material, and even the casual costumes for chilling inside the Normandy. Most people go for the aesthetic looks and less of the armor benefits, but I gotta admit; the Aegis armor looks and has benefits that make the 160 MS points a deal. Hopefully in ME3 there will be more customization for armaments including squad armors. I wouldn't mind paying 50-100 MS points for Grade A armor for my favorite squad mates.

On the subject of breather helmets, I wish that the headpieces that offer almost complete head coverage had some kind of modular piece to create an environmental seal. After all, the Kestrel Helmet covers all but the mouth. If all it truly did was generate a HUD then something like the Arcon Visor would be more appropriate. Once you add head armor like that, not much more is needed for environmental sealing.

I have mixed feelings about these packs.

The Kestrel armor was good, since it's still customisable. But is anyone using those headpieces that cover the entire face and make you look lake a deranged Power Ranger?

No, I prefer it if people use the Visor that adds 10% headshot damage. It's a nifty equipment, but at least people can see their Shepards face.

Agreed there - another strike against the Kestrel, *sigh*.

I really wish that they didn't just parcel out the overpowered Kestrel right off - IMO should have Shepard go through several small missions to collect the pieces - they can use Kestrel as a reward for a DLC mission pack.

Generally I like the Kestral Armor.   I am currently using it on an adept named Gwen Shepard.

I kept the primary color as black and added yellow trim.  Of course, it does also have the blue light strips on it so one can see the character.  It is sharp looking, but I would not want to issue it to someone trying to remain unseen.  The Kestral Helmet has been replaced by the Archon Visor which is more in line with a biotic.

The look of the Kestral Helmet is strange to me.  It leaves me feeling the person wearing it is about to whip out a Star Wars lightsaber to begin blind fighting practice against a remote droid.

Another down check against the helmet is the fact it cannot be used in extreme environments and is replaced by the pressure sealable N7 Helmet in those areas.  To be fair, the Archon Visor is the same way but looks better on Gwen in addition to the adds for a Biotic.

Being Gwen is an Adept, I have not tried out the Incisor Rifle.  Garris seems to be happy with it though.

love the kestrel but damn the helm does look a little stupid with the mouth not covered like it is. maybe if they released two versions of the next headgear one with mouth covered and one without

i understand that it looks like they're doing that because everyone has complained about drinking and kissing with helmets on. but having a modular head piece should be enough to solve that

Bioware needs a new headgear guy.

The Sentry and the Kuwashi visors look good as well as the recon hood. The regular helmet is alright but way too conventional looking for my sci-fi tastes - the breather has always reminded me of a motocross helmet - but I give this helmet a pass because it's at least realistic.

The rest of the stuff, particularly the DLC stuff, looks embarrassingly bad to me.

I have stopped using the incisor on two squad mates as even on insanity I have a hard time getting kills... Now I just take Garrus, Zaeed, or Thane with the Incisor, and either Miranda or Kasumi to even out the squad.

Point of post: Incisor is ridiculously awesome.

Incisor is not a rifle I'd personally want to use. It's only really effective if you give it to your squadmates; they are unusually accurate with it. For Shepard, I muchly prefer the default Mantis rifle or the Widow.

Also, Kestrel is sick when worn with the Recon Hood. Seriously. I can't still looking at my Shepard with that appearance. Dark blue and black; total badassness!

I cant understand why people complain. 160 points for this stuff. 160 points is like 1 dollar and 25 cents lol. Well, either get a Frosty from Wendys or get a new gun and cool new armor for Mass Effect.

Anyhow. I think the Incisor rifle is pretty cool. Havent really used the armor enough to tell though.

Nothing wrong with the price IMHO, I buy it all even if I think it looks bad in the picture just in case it looks good in game. I just don't like the new headgear designs they're coming up with...........The new armor looks good though.

i totally agree with you there, the items need to be properly intergrated into the game rather than me having to micromanage and ignore them, pretending they dont exist till there is a story like reason for having them, collector weapon and armour after first meeting the collectors for example. i have the same issue with dragonage. oh look be first level character has lots of uber gear from the begining.

i would pay for a dlc that integrated the items into the game properly rather than the "you've got gear mail"

Exactly.  It's not a question of the points its gonna cost me its a question of WTF am I going to use this for?  Right now, nothing.  It's not enough motivation to make do yet another replay.  The gun with Kasumi was a good reward cause you could use it in the mission.  You had to find it in the museum area.  It was loosely tied into the story.

IMO, with the Kestrel Armor outclassing alot of the preexisting armor, they ought to release a patch that brings it all up to par. Maybe even a patch that splits up the other add-on armor sets so we can mix and match them, too.

the incisor rifle seems kind of meh to me, even landing all 3 shots as headshots its burst damage seems less than the mantis (and nothing on the widow).
Sticking it on the team mates seems alright but they're nifty with the mantis themselves.
As for the armour customisation, they need to be doing this for all the squadmates as well.

Is that the same riffle I already got as a promotion? If so then I actually paid for it. Twice. Hehe.
