1.) I agree that it needs a bigger magazine.
2.) I still don't find good stopping power in it as it still take three or more pulls of the trigger to take out most enemies on normal combat settings.
3.) Lastly, it does not seem to upgrade when you buy or research upgrades for the other sniper rifles. What you see is what you get.
Still, a good weapon in the hands of an npc.

PS:
A nice idea for DLC....or part of it... a new bonus power? not for another character, but just avilable.... we got ammo powers for everything, except dmg to kinetic shields (not barriers).
Shreder; hp
AP; hp armor
Warp; hp,armor,biotic barrier.
..............;shields????????
maybe yes??lol

Yeah nah it looks good on FemShep, she doesn't look like some cyborg, automaton, astonaut, motorized killer (unless she's also wearing the helmet)Pacifien wrote...
Before someone mentions it, I'm going to say it doesn't look that bad on a female Shepard in actuality.
Why wouldnt you want to look like a cyborg/motorized killer/astronaut? That's like the perfect combo.

Those are awesome, particularly the first one. Two questions...
1: Do you have any more? and...
2: Would you mind if I edited some of them into some fanart? I've been doing some comic bookstyle fanart based off of screenshots; but since I have the 360 version I don't really have a good way to get my own shots.

Incisor is not a rifle I'd personally want to use. It's only really effective if you give it to your squadmates; they are unusually accurate with it. For Shepard, I muchly prefer the default Mantis rifle or the Widow.
Also, Kestrel is sick when worn with the Recon Hood. Seriously. I can't still looking at my Shepard with that appearance. Dark blue and black; total badassness!
I use it with the capacitor helmet from the equalizor pack... blue neon everywhere, and it looks sick. I only got it yesterday and I must say I'm a fan. except that the incisor sucks.

The main problem I have with these DLCs is that you get the gear straight from the go. Since many of these are also powerful items it can render most of the ingame stuff useless and it just doesn't feel satisfying getting the gear handed to you with no work done to earn it. I would rather they incorporated the DLC gear as quest rewards for existing missions or had you purchase it from an ingame shop, just to balance things out. I want to use these badass pieces of gear yet I don't want the game to be too easy.

I play soldier and wear the armor but still use the sniper visor rather than the helmet. To be honest, that's not rational. It's the looks. The visor gives you +10 percent headshot damage while the new helmet give you 5 percent — which adds up to +8 percent when you add in the helmet's weapon bonus. With the helmet's slight shield bonus, it's almost a wash.
As for the sniper rifle, I like it much better than I thought I would. In the early stages on insanity, before you pick up the Viper, it does exactly what the product description says it was designed for: It strips away shields. This weapon with disruptor ammo and with, for instance, Jacob and Miranda doing their pull/warp thing made the Mordin Garrus recruitment missions a cakewalk.

I dont think its that simple though since you have other bonuses =(
Luckily the sources of +headshot damage are limited in the game so it shouldnt be that hard to figure out
I believe they only exist as the sniper rifle upgrade and on the helmet and visor. So we are looking at 55% headshot damage bonus, or 60% headshot damage bonus
I dont know the exact point, but according to my math the +10% headshot damage is the larger bonus after a certain amount of +weapon damage is already gotten. This ammount is well below +50%, so the visor is the better long term damage option.

Other, very big upgrades to sniper rifles, especially headshot bonues, are a different matter. I can see from reading my earlier post that I did not make that clear. Sorry.

Kestrel helmet kinda reminds me of the helmet from Marathon, which people who play Halo would see it like this...didymos1120 wrote...

Only downside is the look of the helmet. What the heck? Can't normal looking helmets be made anymore? I swear with every DLC the helmet looks are getting weirder and weirder.
I don't know about that. The Death Mask is just plain crazy, and it's in the base game:
C'mon, look at that ! You honestly think the Kestrel helm is more bizarre? And the runner-up is easily the Capacitor Helmet. You'd think Shep was suffering from severe hydrocephalus, what with the height of that thing. How much headroom is in that thing? Why can't I keep some spare thermal clips in there?
Not that the Kestrel Helmet isn't weird. It's just doesn't cross the insanity border. Actually it reminds me of the tavleks in Farscape:

I just wish my kuwashi visor didn't have annoying clipping issues with my Shepard's head.
The top of my Shepard's ear sticks out of the covering of the visor.
