Well, the chances of DA2 being a rushed failure are just as big as it being a surprisingly good sequel.

It is obviously DA2. It was practically announced when Awakenings shipped. If it's coming out in February like the teaser flyer in the awakenings box said, then they have to announce it soon.



Also, note that the console ports of DA pushed the release of the first back about a year or so, so it's not as early for DA2 as you think. It's also easier to make games once the lore of the game's world is established. Takes a lot of time out of the writing and art direction processes.

I didn't really like Dragon Age. Enjoyed the story but the battle system felt like it needed work. (Despite being able to input several different "if this happens than do that" Party members either just stood around and did nothing or kept running around pushing my other party members out of the way messing up there attacks, and constantly switching characters was just a chore)

The combat system has driven me to no ends of frustration in each of BioWare's games, especially Dragon Age. But I still love it as a role-playing game. Hopefully they fixed the bugs for DA2.

Ya I would have prefered Jade Empire 2 as well.  I just recently Sat down and played threw it after letting it sit on the shelf now I'm trying to figure out why I let it just sit on the shelf.

I am curious though if the fact that 2K published Jade Empire that is causing any conflicts in making a sequal or if it's just the original didn't sell enough to warrent it.

From what I read the original had lukewarm sales at best. Jade Empire wasn't the running hit KotOR was. I would be dismayed, but not surprised if that means we never see a sequel. Money talks, as they say. :/

Dragon Age: Origins is a great game because it reminded us the good ol' D&D cRPGs, even if it was marketed as Baldur's Gate with gore and ******. Now it's going to be something different, but still enjoyable.

Although it killed my enthusiasm for playin Dragon Age: Origins for a long time.

Edit: Wait wait wait wait wait....

I just popped over to the "new" DA2 forum and apparently you're only going to be able to play as a human. And only one specific human at that. The entire story is going to be the tale of this "Hawke" person?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's complete and utter total fail. Forget DA2. It's going to take a miracle for me to buy it.
