As for the mission itself, it starts off with the Normandy encountering a Geth ship that's in the orbit of the rapidly dying sun the Quarians were investigating in ME2. Using Liara's info has the crew following the Geth ship all the way there on a seemingly unrelated tip off from her. Using TIM's intel has the Normandy going straight there with the Geth ship already present. Shepard decides to have them engage the Geth ship because she/he wants to investigate its contents to see the Geth's interest in the sun. Team Liara gets into a fire fight with the ship that eventually disables it with a well placed shot that doesn't do too much damage to it. Team TIM has the Normandy blasting off chunks of the Geth ship's hull but doing no real damage and after a certain point, an EDI that has been upgraded by Cerebus just hacks the ship enough to disables it for a little while. Shepard then takes a team to investigate. In both scenarios they get the shuttle to drop them off and the game becomes playable as they land on top and blow a hole in the ship to get inside. The room below has a beacon. Shepard of course goes up to the beacon him/herself and it lifts him/her in the air. At first it fills Shepard's mind with images that give clues to the Geth's interest in the dying sun and a few other details that foreshadow events that will occur later in the game. Next, it forces Shepard to recall how he or she looks, his or her history and class type. New classes have been created from the research TIM and Liara have funded. The player will have access to all the new ones to be fair. After that, Shepard has an exchange with his/her squad and they get radioed that they have to go to the other end of the ship to be extracted. This starts the level that's full of Geth and since the Normandy attacked the ship in 2 different ways that were shown in the 2 different intro ship battles, the damage on the ship will be drastically different. This basically means that you get 2 different levels based on whether you have sided with TIM or Liara because the levels will have different paths and hazards that were given to it by the attack from the Normandy. It would be like ME2's prologue but with full gameplay options, enemies and much more area to cover. After this epic level, the squad reboards the Normandy and they discuss what their next course of action will be.
That's my prologue.

Flashbacks are a great idea so:uhm... don't know....
Anyways You start on the cockpit whit Joker ,you'r LI (if you had one) and another person preparing for your next mission but a (non-coincidence) malfunction makes the engines of the normandy permanently off-line and you'll have to get to the SOS shuttle near to you (Joker yelling: NOOO NOT AGAIN!!!!) and when you land (safely) on the near planet you have to survive the fauna and if you're paragorn you will find a Rachni village if not then well... don't know i always are paragorn...

Thank you very much. I can't take all the credit. An online friend said he expects ME2 to be centered around whatever is going on with the dying sun, so I based my prologue off of that.Mesina2 wrote... @gunswordfist pretty nice

WIN!
I think there shouldn't be any face change possible unless you are playing a new character. It's possible the game picks up right where the second one end (after the bridge dlcs) but that wouldn't be as satisfying as lets say a year from then.
It should start on earth this time, not as a convict, but as a goddamn hero, getting some metal to the chest by admiral Hacket (finaly see his face). Depending on wheter you flipped off the council and or Anderson is a part of it, they will also be there (hologram maybe). Possible Kaiden/ Ashley cameo and tho a lttle less likely, TIM will be Present in the background, or atleast watching it from his little hideout.
Now its speach time xd The speach itself defines previous actions to new characters, whilst reheasing what has happened and at what cost. The surviving crew member will be there next to you, DoA, getting their own medals. This will create a unique opening, depending on who did what and died how.
Next shepard will be briefed by Hacket (and counselors) about his new mission, to find support in the war against the reapers. Here's where "making friends" instead of murdering everyone comes in handy.
The 4 council races will support you right away, but you will need to convince the geth, quarians, krogans, batarians(goddamn terrorists) etc to help you fight the war. It's also possible you will be sent out to investigate super weapons that can tear up the reapers.
All info was gained after years of research and seconds of making up:bandit:

Citadel tower
Annoying candidate for spectre: Here! I have proof that Shepard works with Cerberus and with geth.
Shows record of dialog between Shepard and TIM, then few photos with Legion and Shepard
(We can sell Legion but you forgot about it [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/ninja.png[/smilie])
Council: What do you can say about this, Shepard?
short paragon/renegade disscussion
Council:
Sorry, but your ideas become too dangerous for us all. We remember what
you did and if you will surrender we will allow you to live normal
civilian life. / Make you a spectre was a mistake from beginning. But
soon it will be fixed.
One week later. Some empty archeological base.
Shepard: No promised artefacts and excellent place for ambush. *sarcastic* What could it mean?
Annoying spectre: Game over, Shepard. You are surounded by hundred best citadel soldiers.
Shepard: Why when I asked they never helped me? Good luck in next time. I should go.
Shepard runs to the shuttle throw enemies. When few steps left - shuttle blowing up.
Shepard: Heh, you are better than you look.
faints
One year later. Alert in Shepard's underwater prison.
Prologue mission for the people, who want to release Shepard, begins...
I'm not strong in fanfics but something like this.
P.s. This stays/leaves discussion is senseless. If Bioware wants to keep them - teammates find reasons to stay, if not - they find reasons to leave. It's question of developing not story logic.

Mesina I really like this intro. However, you left out one critical part: the "throw council out airlock" scene:
Turian Councilor: ah yes reapers we have dismissed this claim [Shep's holding footage from reaper ship]
Shep: dismiss this. [throws out airlock]
Problem, my canon Shepard dismissed them in Mass Effect 1.

I like your idea. The premise anyway. Shepard starting in prison but then getting sprung by loyal squadmates from ME2 (If any stay) + new guys. Maybe New guys = Ex council agents that believe Shepard about the ReapersWizz wrote...

With a bang. Shepard, sitting alone in a dark room, let it be an interrogation room for example, and he has flashbacks - which gives us an opportunity to go through a training session for the new guys, and to deal with the squadmates who are leaving the game at the beginning. Let's say, two hours.
Up to the point where Shep is captured, then his/her companions rush to his rescue, along with an insider, who turns out to be a new companion.
This is just a short version, but it's late here and I've worked all day.

Wow that's a pretty beginning (i said pretty? it was awesome!) but i would make the (annoying spectre) blow his head off whit a goddamn terrorist "high explosive inferno grenade" pushing it his throat down and watch it explode like the shuttle then grab his gun and shoot his compagnions and then put an atomic bomb on his "utilitary" new spaceship and make like on Jack's loyality missionWizz wrote...

Cue 'MASS EFFECT 3' titles.
The above in the form of a longer and more epic cutscene of course. Not gameplay.
After ME3 titles shepard is seen walking briskly through an armory of some sorts(Located on the citadel) with Ashley/Kaiden. Shepard gets notified that the council wishes to see him immidietly. And Ashley/Kaiden return to their citadel duties.
A few cutscenes later after some form of military training sessions and meetings etc.
Word gets out of a citadel riot down in the wards. Shepard gets sent to aid the now cruppling C-Sec guards.
After a bit of shooty shooty gameplay. A giant reaper vessel is seen hurtling towards the citadel. The riot was just a diversion. Whole citadel is in danger, most die...shepard saves Ashley/Kaiden(Or leaves them to die),
The Normandy escapes with just Joker, Shepard, a couple of staff and possibly Ashley/Kaiden. And goes into hiding...
During the reaper sequance Garrus will/may die during the C-Sec riot. The rest of your team mates fate...is mostly unknown. After this you must go to Illium etc. And warn the other major populated areas in the galaxy. Along with rerecruiting Liara and Tali etc.
