I wanna see it open with Earth (or perhaps the entire Sol system) exploding, perhaps from the dark matter thing Tali was investigating. Straight away: Boom! No more Alliance or Cerberus. It'd also be incredibly ironic: humanity struggles, bites and claws it's way into the Galactic Community in two games, only for the reapers to say: NO.

Uhhh....., the final game must be violent and explosive, but it should still be dramatic and satisfying. I don't see anything satisying about working your way up in the first two games only to be annilated unceremoniously in the last one. If the Reapers do win, it should be after a long intense story of fighting back.

I have my own personal opinions on what squad members will stay and/or leave.

Garrus: Will stay, regardless of LI or loyalty or weather or not Sidonis was saved during his loyalty mission. May have personal mission involving Sidonis if he survived. Or he didn't it may be for a more family matter.

Grunt: If not 'birthed' he will probably be able to be birthed or sold. If loyal -"Shepard is my battlemaster. He has no match." He will stay. If not loyal I think he will be drawn to Tuchanka eventually or his rage/sickness from not having a clan might cause an... accident...

Jack: If loyal: Will probably stay. If Aresh survived there may be a mission. If LI: Will stay. If not loyal: Will probably leave to join a merc band. May attempt to make the Normandy into a pirate ship, yarr.

Jacob: If Loyal or LI: Stay, may have mission involving cerberus. If unloyal: May temporarily leave to close the books on Aeia. Will probably stay. Might follow Miranda as she is also cerberus.

Kasumi: If loyal with graybox destroyed: I don't know for sure but I feel as if I've heard her say that she enjoys being on the Normandy. Might stay. If loyal with Graybox kept: What better place to go into hiding than the most advanced stealth ship in the galaxy with a Beyond-the-books spectr?" If unloyal: Will probably depart on the Citadel.

Legion: Stay to remain under protection of the 'bro club' with garrus, grunt and tali... or maybie he will just stay. If not activated: Will have option of selling him out to cerberus, the quarians or the alliance or to simply re-activate him, gaining him as a squad member but it may be too late to stop the reaper virus.

Miranda: If LI: stay. If loyal: may stay. If you convinced her to talk to her sister she may go and live with her. If unloyal: Will leave to get her sister back. Will probably not survive without help.

Mordin: He's an oooooold man in terms of Salarian years. He might die of old age near the start. If loyal may leave to take care of nefew. If not loyal: may rejoin salarian infiltration team to stop the genophage cure (maybie).

Morinth: Leave without warning.

Samara: If loyal: May stay for a while but eventually leave back into asari space. If not loyal: Leave.

Tali'Zorah: GODDAMMIT SHE WILL STAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, in all seriousness: If LI: Stay. Shepard's life depends on it. If loyalty mission not attempted: will leave and be exiled. If data given: Will leave. If data not given: Will stay. If Paragon/Renegaded: Stay, may return to flotilla. Flotilla may even become a 'hub world.' If you sided with legion during their conflict she will leave regardless of LI.

Thane: His sickness will get in the way. If loyal: Will go back to take care of Kolyat. If unloyal : will leave. If LI: may stay. may have conflict with Kolyat.

Zaeed: If loyal with Vido alive: His mission has technically not been completed yet. He might stay untill they get another chance, the Normady is a well informed ship, would probably help find vido. If loyal with Vido dead: my retire to the normandy permanently but may end up leaving to take over the blue suns. If unloyal: Will have conflict with shepard, will probably leave.

Assuming they all survive of course.

As for the start: There will be an option to change face again. I'm fully expecting something involving facial reconstruction. Probably involving a LI. [Insert ME2 opening but with anything that is collectors replaced with reapers and the SR1 with the SR2] (Yeah I know that will not happen nor do I want it to happen.)

As much as i hate to say and admit it, i find it most likely that as canon bioware will clean table for new crewmembers and as a result of it find it easiest to get rid of most if not all prior members, as its both easier than making them into cameo and leaves less to explain to people who hasent played mass effect 1 or 2.

As a result i am guessing:

Tali died during the explotion in enginering

Garrus died during collector ship attack along with jack. and thane.

Mordin likely takes a passive cameo role.

Legion may step into a cameo returning to geth to prepare for reapers.

Morinth probaly cant help her nature and cause some situation where you have to kill her.

Zaaed and Katsumi like get left out with not to much explanation since they dident really evolve them much.

Grunt likely died during showdown with reaper after.

Mirinda likely survived along with jacob.

At least it be my predictions as for how bioware would clean table in most easiest fashion.

Guessing kelly chambers and doctor chackwas if i spelled i right got processed and died aswell.

Which pretty much leaves mirinda and jacob which easily could be assigned to get the alliance attention and try to assemble forces back while shepard left to fortify frontline and continue with new crew along the edges of attican traverse.

What matters is how it will end - with a song. It was awesome when Portal did it, and even a game as completely average as as Black Ops seemed a bit cooler for having ended with 'Sympathy for the Devil'.

Or Monty Python's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life." 8D

Back on topic. It's hard to guess how ME3 will begin since they're not even done with the bridging DLC and ME2's opening scene was widely unexpected. I suspect the prologue won't even have Shepard in it at all, maybe taking place somewhere out on the galactic rim with some random research outpost suddenly being attacked by a ship that looks a helluva lot like Sovereign. The person you play as is the only survivor and runs back to the Citadel, screaming about how crazy stuff's happening and we're all gonna die. Shep and Co. overhear. We get down to business. Person you played as is first new squadmate.

*shrugs* Eh, just a thought.

I am guessing most of ME3 will built forward one thing, that alliance will finally create some unity to fight the reapers, and ceberus gonna turn tide in someway in last fight, and after the fight conclussion cereberus is gonna mandate themselves into a position of power, which gonna result in the peace and unity created in final battle will start to become uneasy, and lay the grounds for a mass effect online with several playable races and new career like Krogan battlemaster, and asari commando among playable choices.

Which makes it most likely that shepard gonna be patrolling outskirts for reapers, while rest the galaxy is gonna be made aware and assemble and ultimately end in a large climatic battle.

This is how I would open ME3.

In the opening scene, the Normandy is attacked and captured. Everyone is taken hostage. Sheppard wakes up in an operating room. There he/she is being studied, lights are too bright to make out by whom(This is where Sheppard can be customized, changed). He/She then blacks out. Next he/she wakes up in a holding cell next to a couple of his/her companions (whoever you beat ME2 with, or a mixture with LI and most loyal, and the default would be Jacob and Miranda). At this point Sheppard, and the two companions set a plan to break out. They lure three gaurds in and knock them out. The gaurds are Human/Turian (depending on a certain choice) in pure black unmarked armour. Sheppard and crew strip them of their weapons. This is now the tutorial scene. Sheppard's goals are to find the remaining crew members(rest of surviving ME2 companions if there are any, and surviving crew like Chakwas, and Joker) and escape. As Sheppard and crew make thier way through the ship fighting more unmarked gaurds and releasing other captives, they find that it was the Council/Cerberus (depending on your choice of saving the Collector base or not) that captured you. When you make it to the hanger where the Normany is located, a Boss battle occurs. It will be with Kai Leng (if Cerberus attacked) or a Turian Spectre(if Council). After you defeat the boss you'll be given a choice of sparing their lives and having them join you or letting them go, or killing them. Either way Sheppard and crew board Normandy and Leave and head to Hagalaz.

I kinda think the main focus of ME3 will be building an army. Much like ME2 was building a team. I think Shep's has to get the Council, Allaince, Terminus Systems, Rachni, Geth, Krogan, and whoever else to not only realize the reaper threat is real, but they all must come together. Anyway thats my take.

I'd like to see ME3 start at the beginning and when it gets to the end: stop.

Tali dying in your arms if you romanced her in ME2...She was negligent in her suit repair from the fire fight on the Quarian ship, Alari (Sp?).....Even after all the precautions she said that she was doing to prepare for her romance with you, she wasn't completely safe....She's dying in your arms professing her love, helmet off telling you to forget about her and focus on the Reapers...they are coming....Shep looks out the window with a bad a** look in his eyes....He SCREAMS as Tali dies....Fade to ME3 game screen.

(Though I'd hate to see Tali die)

Please... not this :( In that chase I'll have to replay ME2 romancing Miranda, left her die and then replacing her with Tali. But it won't be the same thing, even I might do this...

And interesting start? Shepard captured by Cerberus, as revenge if he destroys the Collector's Base, or because he started to rebels to TIM if not. The Commander find part of his team (TALI!!!!!!) jailed in the same structure with him, they escapes and flee away with the Normandy, after re-take it. Part of the team is still MiA, but the Reapers are coming and Shep needs to put toghether a working squad for stop them and he's forced to recruit at least a few new people. The other survivors of Omega4 can makes appearences during the game, revelealing how they escaped to Cerberus and what they did after that. If the game will star with the die of your previos LI just to give you the chance to stalk another megalomaniac b!tch or a new alien virgin, I'll brobably go on berserk :pinched:

Game starts just few hours after Suicide Mission close to fuel station near Omega.

Normandy XO( Miranda>Jacob>Garrus...) tells you that Normandy is almost in fuel station in Captian Quarters and Shepard responses with choosen dialogue while he is in bathroom.
XO leaves and then camera is going to the mirror to see Shepard's reflection and then we have character creation.

After that you talk to to surviving crew( Joker and EDI are minimal) and leave Normandy.

Once you leave you talk to Batarian owner of fuel station and ask you what to do with Normandy and then game gives you tutorial how to repair Normandy, upgrade it and customize it.
After that owner of fuel station tell you to wait day or two to complete repairs and customize ship( you can't upgrade ship now).

Then you go to talk with squadmates.

Some characters say that they will leave and those are:

Zaeed - he done his job and he will try to get Vido and becouse of Reapers try to took over Blue Suns or if you killed Vido just try to take over Blue Suns or if he isn't loyal he would just leave.

Very low possibility to stay but cameo and side quest very possible

Kasumi - she went in hiding if has greybox or just say goodbye and leave if you destroy greybox( she is still loyal if you destroy it)

Very low possibility to stay if she has greybox but cameo or even important quest very possible. Greybox destroyed low possibility to stay and cameo

Samara - went to seek injustice but promises to help in future( Paragon) or just not to kill Shep( Renegade) and/or try to find Morinth if you scared her away in loyalty mission

Very low possibility to stay. Might possible to recruite later and LI if you try romance with her in ME2. Cameo and side quest very possible

Morinth - she just leaves with no goodbye

Extremely low possibility to stay and cameo

Thane - he decides to retire and went back on Hanar homeworld since he will die long before Reapers will come

Low possibility to stay but very possible cameo. For side quest low possibility

Possible to leave:

Tali - got message that she is elected for admiral and say to Shep it would be better if she leaves so he/she can have guarantee Quarian help against Reapers

Got nothing on if she is unloyal and survive
High possibility to stay if not cameo and important side quest are must go!

Grunt - say to Shep that he should get back on Tuchanka to help clan Urdnot

Got nothing if he is unloyal and survive
High possibility to stay if not cameo and important side quest are must go!

Character that wouldn't make sense to leave if didn't die:

Garrus( infiltrator) - no reason to leave loyal or unloyal
Legion( engineer) - no reason to leave loyal or unloyal
Jacob( sentinel) - no reason to leave loyal or unloyal
Miranda( sentinel) - no reason to leave loyal or unloyal
Jack( adept) - no reason to leave loyal but unloyal questionable
Mordin( engineer and scientist, might not be selectable though) - no reason to leave loyal or unloyal

After that you gain two new squadmates in case that none of them didn't survive and later gain 4 more to have Soldier, Inflitrator, Vanguard, Adept, Sentinel and Engineer( for balance) or get them right away but with good explenation for plot.

Idea dumped, besides reasons why should some characters leave.

I agree with most, except Grunt - if you did the loyalty mission - sees Sheperd as his battlemaster, therefore it is highly likely that he will remain a member of your squad. Him not being a member is even more ludicrous than Garrus not remaining at Sheperd's side(Garrus, after all, did talk about going back into training as a Spectre).

Ditto on Kasumi/Zaeed, although I think that if she survived and her loyalty mission was completed, the whole graybox secret involving the Alliance would make for an excellent side quest (or DLC).

As for how ME3 could start out: with a really cool explosion.
