I'm surprised we haven't heard this before guys...really..this is seriously the very first popular conspiracy that was circulated about ME2. And I have to say, it makes NO sense. TIM is just an arrogant racist, who thinks he and his organization can do anything. (I also doubt he would be doing tests WITH Reaper technology on someone - like the plot of the new book coming out soon). But as Samara points out - "He thinks he has the wisdom to use the base....but he does not".

Especially since he allows you to have African Americans on his ship, and aliens such as Salarians, Turians, Drell, Asari, Quarians, and even Geth.

I didn't carefully study the plot so there is probably something that contradicts this but here is my theory:

The collectors weren't working for the reapers. They saw humans destroy a reaper so thought they would make a human reaper to destory the old reapers. TIM is working for the reapers in dark space and manipulated Shepard into eliminating a threat to their re-conquest of the galaxy.

Wow dude. Really? He talks constantly about human dominance in the galaxy being his goal. He's desperate for help and is taking all the help he can get - that's why he "allows" and recommends Shepard recruit the best of the best - including aliens. When he talks to you to try to convince you to save the Collector base, if an alien member recommends Shepard to destroy the base, he will comment that "aliens couldn't possibly understand", something to that effect. But keep on thinking he's no arrogant and not a racist.

How do you figure he is a racist? For that matter why does supporting human power and dominance equate to racisim? Thats like saying you're a racist if you prerfer the US (Or any other country you're partial to) to be the top power in the world..  Striving for dominance isn't racisim. It's how you use that power and dominance that could lead to racisim. So far I haven't seen any indication that TIM favors stripping aliens of their rights and dignity,

except that you see that a Reaper has been controlling the Collector General the whole time.

TIM is actually the last surviving memeber of the race that created the Reapers. The whole cycle of destruction the reapers follow is just there to destroy him for once and for all. Now the worst part yet is that if TIM wins the entire universe will be taken over by dark energy and life as we know it will end. So you see the Reapers are actually the good guys.

Now theres a nice plot twist.:P

I thought the same to OP but the eyes are different.  I just replayed the 1st ME and TIMmy's eyes are a lot different than sarens.  Sarens eyes have a solid blue color to it and Tims actually has a design in it, which is probably due to some cybernetic implants much like shepards.

He may be in league with the reapers, which i doubt, but there eyes arent the same.

Well then im sorry i made an observaion All,i didnt think posting my thoughts on a topic that others had noticed as well was considered a "crazy conspiracy" theory. The way some of you reacted it seems like i like hurt your feelings or something. And the reason i think TIM would let you take out the collectors and so forth is because i beleivED that part of the reapers plan might have been to somehow get Shep in their pockets...or like tentacles,i dunno. And now that i look at some of you that wernt totall douchmehousers. I agree that its like 10 times MORE likely that the eyes are just cybernetic. But you never know.you cant say im wrong unless a dev comes on here and blantenly says"Turian L0RD you sir are a nutcase,TIM is nothing more then TIM.now die." So XD.

I do not believe that TIM is a Reaper agent-- they are trying to destroy humanity-- but I believe he wants to create a stronger human race using Reaper technology, and that's why he wants the Collector Base. His objective is to advance humanity--no matter what the cost, yes? Also, consider the storylines in Mass Effect: Retribution and Mass Effect: Redemption. I have yet to read the books, but I might consider reading them.

I can see TIM being a Reaper TOOL, if not now, then later.

But not an outright agent. Nope.

Wow! Having cybernetic eyes must mean a connection to the reapers! Maybe Shepard is indoctrinated now too?

NO.

I'm sorry but I'm getting quite tired of these ridiculous theories or ideas of TIM being connected to the reapers just because he has cybernetic eyes or has is the "bad guy." Honestly, I wish people would come up with something original once in awhile.

I'm about as anti-Cerberus as any on this board but unless TIM is indoctrinated between ME2 and ME3 (if this is the case they better damn well show this on camera and it better damn well be well explained) it makes no sense that TIM is working for the reapers.

His methods are extreme and he locks out potential allies in following his pro human agenda (heavy risk... but the prize) but nothing in his actions speak to me of working for the reapers or collectors. Seeing as his every action was working against their interests and all.

I'm sure his eyes will be explained in Mass Effect: Evolution. Probably something anticlimactic like a war injury or disguise.

Sigh... no. It makes no sense to me.

Furthermore, it would be a terrible and cliche "twist" that would detract from the usually interesting writing of these games and remove a lot of the complexity and nuance from the universe.
