The DA2 not-quite-announcement-yet doesn't mean an end to the Warden's Story as of this moment. I'm under the belief that BioWare have stated that more DA DLC is to come, as to whether that is Warden based or not is unclear.
Heck, we might even get another expansion before DA2.

hope so, that would make my day. I am very excited about the sequel. Just feel a bit sad over my PC not getting her ending she deserves.:wizard:

Woo here we go again.

Glad it's a completely new story. Hopefully we aren't Grey Wardens either.

I dont mind not playing my character in the new one, but it's just the ending of Awakening was pretty much like Origins. If they don't intend on continuing with our current PC's the ending must be concluded somewhat?

Agreed. I think that was the main problem; things just weren't tied up nicely in a way that's satisfying. When I first beat DA:O the ending part where it explains what happened afterwards seemed kind of generic..

Still, a brand new start (perhaps with an import feature to carry over some major decisions at least?) sounds exciting for me, for DA2. And hey, maybe if they let you import decisions and stuff, you could like see a statue in memory of your character in their likeness perhaps...? Many things they could do.

Really disappointed we can't import our character, since the end of Origins really set up a sequel that would continue following your character.

No it didn't my character died.

Seems BioWare have shot themselves in the foot again just like they did when they introduced the new dialogue system in Mass Effect. Now everyone is expecting to be able to "import" their saves into BioWare sequels. Even if they did I doubt someone in Orlais would give a flying toss what your character did in Ferelden, assuming DA2 takes place outside Ferelden.

That would be cool, heck I'm not worried about my old PC's even being mentioned at all. I just want the ending to be concluded...unless they intend to leave it for another game:whistle: probably not though....I just want an ending. Need that before a new start i think......^_^

I agree :? can the current ending be just left as that. Unless they intend to return to it, I'm going to feel a tad disappointed. I'm quite attached to my PC and don't really want a cliff hanger ending which will never be resolved....

me too. nothing wrong with starting anew, but the current ending of Origins (don't even get me started about this so called expansion) feels unfinished, and i would love to get a real ending to this before starting getting myself attached to new characters . Right now, it somewhat feels like the epilogue of Origins is missing.

I'll reserve any final judgement of DA 2 until much more is known, but at the moment, i am more disppointed than excited. Especially, as it seems, that unlike Origins, the DA 2 seems to have a preset hero somewhat like Shepard who possible could reappear in future games

Like someone else mentioned, maybe they'll announce a new DA:O DLC (or even expansion..? Doubtful, imo) designed to tie the stories together. Not sure, but I think they're doing something like that for ME2, to lead into the story for ME3. I really can't remember where I got that impression though so take it with a grain of salt

I'm officially way too excited for this already. I'm a little sad that my old character wont be able to adventure on but it leaves room for a whole new character for me to explore and play with.

Do you think they'll keep the origins thing for 2? Because that was a neat way to get into your characters head a bit before being thrown into everything.

I wouldn't be surprised if the likes of Morrigan popped up again. She has a lot more potential left in her, especially with how DA:O leaves her. Whether as friend or foe would be interesting. I should probably rein in my imagination before it goes too much further off the beaten track xD

grey warden  hero characters -> hopefully a new xp for DA O

The new hero is a fugitive, with a completly different background (quoting the DA RTP page below):

You are one of the few who escaped the destruction of your home.
Now, forced to fight for survival in an ever-changing world, you must
gather the deadliest of allies, amass fame and fortune, and seal your
place in  history. This is the story of how the world changed forever.
The legend of your Rise to Power begins now.

A da o oc hero import with  achievements, stats and items would'nt make any sense there
- a face import option may be  most welcome though.

Yes..really.. from the day they released Awakening 'till today it has been the greatest talkin' point between people here.. The community is really split in two.. between people who wanted a new story and people who wanted a direct sequel

We all knew that someone was obliged to be disappointed... And I am sure many people won't be happy when tehy'll know this.

I don't care either way wither its a new PC or carrying on as the one from DA:O.

Me neither really, but I definitely got the impression of a new story with a new character, it seems to make the most sense. I thought it had been hinted at, but perhaps not. In any case, that appears to be cleared up now, and like one poster said, hopefully that other side of people won't be too disappointed...

Besides, maybe this will give them the opportunity to do origin stories again... assuming that's still a major feature? Unless it was specifically for Dragon Age: "Origins" (hence the name) and perhaps DA2 will have it's own major distinguishing feature...? No idea. More origins sounds good to me though

I always said that I would have accepted whatever they were going to do, but my preference was for a new story.
I was more than satisfied about the story of my character and I was feeling like there wasn't nothing they could add to improve it.. Therefore I was ready to move to a new character...

That new mage is either going to be a key figure! Now then Mage Rituals...she's going to give up her life to save the world! Or be romancable and then die at the very end! Or have your baby and never call again! Or reveal herself as the Godchild who must kick your butt!

This.  I just want some closure.  One last tumble with the LI would be icing, but not necessary.

But that's what the Darkspawn threat is all about, right? There are 2 more blights left (2 more archdemons), plus what happens after that.

But if the story takes place during a decade, my early guess is that's how long this blight will last. Unlike in the first Dragon Age.

Just because there are two more possible Blights do not have to mean i am eager to play nd end them both. Besides, another Blight within the same century, but you play a new character while your old Warden, the hero who ended the last Blight against all odds, is lost somewhere. How ridiculous would that be?

And i truly hope old characters does not make an appearacne. Meet them again, knowing them by heart, while your hero acts like he never known them (which would be true) would be more than just weird.

As much as i miss them and be disappointed my Warden and them would be just lost without closure, better get it obver wuickly then instead of just delaying the disappointed and rin that characters by a ridiculous appearance in the second game

I, for one, would like the ** option ** of carrying in my established players. I could always roll up a new player, but I always thought that our characters could continue like Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect series. (BTW, yes I understand that Shepard is a set main character vs the DA roll up your main character, but still....)

There are most likely going to be Cameos of Characters and all but no Morrigan's or Alistair's running around doing stuff, it's just not like it, so far I am disappointed and yet amazed at the same time, I want to see the trailer already honestly

Oh by the way, Gauntlets! I kno right? reminds Me of something I can't quite tell.
Like someone mentioned POLEARMS!!!

Wouldn't mind one more Awakening type expansion for my Warden, but playing a new character for Dragon Age 2 is fine by me.

A few more choices for Race would be nice to see.

yeah, sounds like a perfect hack'n slash game where the player evolves to become the uberbully ruling the world... including less story but tons of new darkspawn to slay down, pictured through a "completely new" cinematic presentation. well, that all sounds so... casual like. the **** that bioware jumped into the console market to cash out the kiddos and mimics their brainless style of play :(

hopefully they get rid of the bugs the toolset suffers from so the community is able to produce additional an better content for the dragon age universe.
