As long as we get to customize our character, it'll be fine. And the story takes place across a decade? We age? *excited*

Though there was no mention you'll be a Grey Warden...hmm...

Would be pretty neat if the character(s) visibly aged too, bit like Ezio in AC2. Though I'm expecting it to just be a fade to black and "10 years later..." kinda thing.

I'd love to keep the way you get to know your companions in camp and through conversations - I wasn't that big a fan of the Awakenings way of doing things..

And also, please keep the banter!!

Oh, no, the origins are gone :(

I just knew that since "Origins" was a subtitle that it was likely to be dropped.

Oh well. I trust Bioware, and am completely willing to try something different :)

"You are one of the few who escaped the destruction of your home. Now, forced to fight for survival in an ever-changing world, you must gather the deadliest of allies"

Sounds a bit like ME2

Origins completely gone ?? I agree here with Y.H. and VirusCat -
I do hope Bioware knows what he is doing and implements at least some of the decisions I made there.
Customize, the *Movie feeling*, Romance and Dialogue is what makes Dragon Age "Origins" very special -
if this is the case - bring it on.

You should check out what the Dragon Age 2 website says about who you play.

I'm not certain how to read this... ?

If I don't get to play my chars from the first game, I don't think I'll bother.

As they are left in sort of a cliffhanger ending, with no real closure, I cannot be asked to start over with a new character, only to have them left in a limbo as well.

If there are origins, I suspect they're what kind of refugee you are. Human, dwarf, or sea yak.

No origins? Okay... That's fine. The conversation system better be like Origin's or I'm gonna be a ragin' nerd at that point. The system from Awakening was lame...... really lame.........

So instead you'll go play a different RPG with a new character and world....  :lol::lol:

Maybe our Origins could still have some impact in terms of previous events and backstory....

Indeed. ;) One that ends the tale of my characters in a proper manner.

Think like a general and fight like a Spartan with dynamic new combat mechanics that put you right in the heart of battle whether you are a mage, rogue, or warrior.

Guess that means no more isometric view. No surprise. I expected them to cater (a lot) more to consoles now. Bummer all the same.

I hope they at least keep the toolset.

Pride Demon! It's so much fun to keep a dark personal secret...

P.S. I hope PS3 version looks adequately. You know, of course that compared to games like GoW3 or Uncharted 2 Dragon Age looks really bad.

I imagine that PS3 owners have other more important requests like having a version of the game that can survive PSN firmware updates.:P

I am cautiously optomistic. DAO was one of the best RPGs I've ever played. Sooo much of game I thouroughly enjoyed. Heh, I realize when something changes here there's sort of kneejerk reaction from all of us in a collective "YELP!" for fear of what those changes might entail. While I know this is wearisome for the devs, we as RPG gamers have seen our preffered game style "STREAMLINED" to the point where it hardley resembles what we love.

I read this line "Spartan with dynamic new combat mechanics that put you right in the heart of battle whether you are a mage, rogue, or warrior." and my worry is that the combat is going for more action RPG. I have no basis from that statement alone mind you but the trend in gaming at large scares me. Still what I enjoyed most about DAO was how the story was told, the deep characters, the relationships there and how all these things unfolded. The consequence of choice at the end of the game I thought was pretty stagerring given the length of the game and how many moving peices there are in a game like DA. So here's to hoping all those things make a return. The last thing I would want to see is a Bioware fantasy RPG turn into Fable. And before the devs take umbrage with me for suggesting something that is nowhere revealed on the website, its paranoia on my part. :) I have like 2-3 developers that make games I enjoy. And when I see what appears to be a quick development cycle and marketing buzzwords that usually refer to negative things for RPG games, my suspsicions rise.

Heh, anyways, here's to looking forward to more information on DA2!!!

I for one am super excited. And I don't think I'm the only one who thought that Mass Effect 2's handling of our decisions from ME was rather underwhelming. So if BioWare wants to go for a brand new character, I'm all for it. I also have a feeling some sort of canon will be declared regarding the ending of DA:O. Again, great. This should keep the story tighter and more focused.
