In any case, that seems to be the decision. I'm sure they'll start exploring the history with updates soon? Start filling the story gaps. Should be interesting stuff, can't wait.

I think I remember hearing that they're doing something similar for ME2 in anticipation of ME3

If they indeed decide that this option will not be available, then I can settle with the idea that my char left to live his life with the LI.

We dont know how much time has passed since Awakening. Everyone we know from the previous game might be long dead.
Also,we have no idea how much (if any) continuity there is from the events in Origins.
Once they release more information we can start discussing if what we have is completely unrelated to what came before or if it's simply a natural continutation of something that started with Origins.

There's no mention of the Wardens or anything, just talk about "a rise to power". If they've turned the franchise into a cookie-cutter-clone of a war mongering game, I'm pretty sure I won't be the only one upset about it.
I hope it's just a matter of not wanting to give too much away. But I gotta say, right now, I wouldn't buy the game. Not at all excited about it in the slightest.

I don't want my warden to ever die, but beside that, this thread is for characters reapearing, and personnaly, I would like to see Sandal and Morrigan's child.
To see... yes. But I really don't want to be that certain child

Hmm... as in the possibility of, being forced to play the game as Morrigans child? That would kind of give your character a bit of a "chosen one" special type of treatment, where they have a lineage and claim to power more than the average person. Personally, I go more for underdog type characters. However given the history of letting us choose our character backgrounds, if we DO choose origin stories the same way, I wouldn't be surprised to see that as one of them. Either that or it will be the story means of creating the new villain

Not to be Jedi, to have join your team.

I would support a Deep Roads DLC where the ending covers your character's death.Slarth79 wrote...
I'd still love an ending for my Warden, even if it's DLC with him going to the deep roads to die. Any ending for my Warden would be nice
I wouldn't like it if they just kept piling more monsters on you until you died.
The result would be the same, but the first one would make me feel like I won, and the second would make me feel like I lost.

That, or I hope they release a second expansion and give some sort of closure to the story.

I have no doubt the story and decisions you made in DA:O and Awakening will somehow affect DA2. I'd also be SHOCKED not to see something about Morrigan's baby and the idea of playing as such? AWESOME. The fangirls were really hoping to see some Alistair...*sniff*
I would be SHOCKED to see morrigans baby since I never went down that route

It would appear that they are not going to continue the storyline, rather start a new one. I'm a little disapointed , but also happy it lets us play a new story in this awesome world. Still like to know what would happen next Chronologically speaking after the Mother "Incident"
If that is true, I'm more than a little dissapointed. I'm not certain at all I will even bother, if in fact it is so.. DA:O and DA:A, certainly did not bring closure, and I think my characters deserves a better end than a note saying: He/she vanished a few years later.
We shall see, it's to early to say anything from what little information Bioware have released, but without the ability to end my characters, I cannot see myself bothering starting a new one. I hope Bioware will be so kind as to give us some information wether we can expect to continue our old characters or not.

If I was Bioware, what I would consider is allowing a save to be imported, but taking some changes to the environment and history based on your choices, rather than the character. For example, which Dwarven king you interact with. You could have characters referencing your exact deeds in the historical sense e.g. refer to King Alistair or Enora. That would maintain the sense of continuity and your decisions mattering, without tying yourself to the same character.
Morrigan I would expect would come in a new DLC for Dragon Age - its all set up for one last expansion!
