Well personally I like to make my own unique character. But about that dominate thing. That could work well. Kind of also like using the Jedi Mind tricks in Star Wars the knights of the old republic. With blood magic I'd like to use it to control peoples minds to make them do what I want. And I wonder if shapeshifting could be used to take human form as a sort of trickery. Might be asking a bit much for that though, but still would be interesting. Though shapeshifting does need a lot of improvement if it's going to be in Dragon Age 2.
I like having a lot of control over how my character looks too, but I think there's far too much emphasis on these boards over a detail like this which really shouldn't matter all that much. There have been lots of RPG's done with set characters, so it has nothing to do with how good the game will be. Yeah, it's nice, but it's not a big deal IMO.
And I'm really adamant about extra dialogue options based on class. A blood mage should get extra dialogue options to control or manipulate people. Likewise, it would be fun to see different dialogue options if you play as a templar and are talking to a mage. Stuff like that really adds a lot.
DA:O already had lots of dialogue options specific to class and origin. I can't believe they'd lose those now. What it didn't have was a very versatile character creator. I think there are many of us who started and re-started an origin because the way the character looked in the dungeon of the creator and actually looked in-game were vastly different.
