New area/country, Ferelden and its wet dogs are fine but I'm more interested in Tevinter Imperium or Antiva
Character Interaction/Romance, don't be another Awakening, you struck gold on Origins. Personally I would like to see some more interaction in the 'camp' area.
Facial features, no not customization (thought that would be nice) but actually in game where it's not just the lowering of eyebrows or a complete blank facial expression. Needs grins, smiles, anger, etc.
Influence from Origins, if we don't get to import our PC, atleast let the desicisions from Origins affect DA2, I wanna see me some golems.
Darker fantasy, like most said Origins had its dark features but most decisions were taking the high road, for examples in Origins i would like either Conner or Isolde die no matter what instead of going to the Circle of Magi.
Better armor and weapons, the two-handed weapons are ridiculously too slow and seem they are made out of lead, plus I would like to see some pole-arms or halberds. The armor, massive and heavy armor was alright but the leather was too generic and for mages the damn cowls look like retard hats.
A better villain, Loghain and Howe were more like obstacles than villains, and the Archdemon there was never a reason to kill it rather than the "It's the leader of the darkspawn and evil" Let the villain personally affect you, maybe at the beginning of the game the main villain comes in and destroys your old life (A better Howe).
Griffons, I want me some Griffons
Golems me want too, possibly even Shale's return?
Hopes and expectations for DA 2.

Because I thought DAO was such a cleverly constructed game that provided endless hours of pleasure in playing it, my first instinct would be to say more of the same please.
However I have looked at the elements that made the game so special.
Here are some of obvious reasons:
1. Large numbers of individual NPCs – all of them believable entities
2. The fact a “relationship” was created between the player and each recruitable NPC.
3. The interplay between the different NPCs
These must be core elements in DA2.
Instead of being completely impassive, I would like the player-character to talk and react to situations – although perhaps with all the variations, Bioware might find this difficult.
Going back to the days of Baldur’s Gate, I would like to see unsuitable groupings (such as a party mixing Lawful Good & Chaotic Evil characters) actually breaking up. Perhaps one character might go back to camp to sulk – or the player character has to step in and control the situation.
Of all the NPCs in DAO, Zevran and Shale were brilliant fun to have around. Zevran’s interplay with both Shale & Wynne was hysterical. Even if the tone of DA2 is darker, this level of fun should be carried across.
What about the re-introduction of the Half-Elf, Halfling or Gnome? If DAO permits all types of Interracial coupling, are there no consequences?
Assuming that the DA2 player character will start at Level 1 could Bioware decide on a better crafting idea?
To be honest as long as Bioware doesn’t waste all its resource releasing half-finished expansions like “Awakening”, I really don’t care what they decide to put in DA2. I will buy it and enjoy it.

Alignment in character creation, like in Baldur's Gate and NWN.
Unique and amazing characters.
More interesting battles instead of 10 skeletons in every room.

"You are one of the few who escaped the destruction of your home. Now, forced to fight for survival in an ever-changing world, you must gather the deadliest of allies, amass fame and fortune, and seal your place in history. This is the story of how the world changed forever. The legend of your Rise to Power begins now."
I think I've read this before... *looks at fable 3* Oh look I have! Now I can hatch my plan to write a somewhat ridiculous LOTR/Fable/DA crossover.
I hope the chatting is more like origins than awakening (God that was buggy)
Banter between recruitable companions
The "love" scenes... please either make them closer in style to ME1 or just fade to black... that goes for ME3 too.
Better looking mage cloths (Especially the hats) . By the time my Mage(Arcane warrior,Battlemage,Spirit Healer spec.) finished awakening, he was pretty much a walking deity able to smite armies and take on High Dragon's single handedly. But he hardly looked the part unless I had him wearing plate armor, which was not very good for his fatigue.
For romances, please do what was done in Origins as opposed to ME2(as much as I enjoy that game, some characters you couldn't get to know without romancing them, no friend path)
And well... a cast of memorable, interesting and diverse characters would be great, especially the companions.
