I did that with Origins and it was great, since everything in the game was a complete surprise for me.
It was harder with Awakening, since every little detail of it got announced. Even Titles of forumposts and of articles on gaming sites already spoiled content of the expansion. But it still worked out somewhat

I don't know if i can resist the temptation of looking at all the Dragon Age 2 info that will come, but it's well worth it and i will try.

anyone else accompanying me on this impossible challenge?

I like to stay ignorant of whats the plotline in games. It might be hard for me this time though...

I will watch all the trailers that are released, but beyond that I'll try not to read many interviews. that's where the real spoilers come from. I'll already know I'm going to buy it, so I don't really need much convincing

I am. I'll try at least. I had Origins spoiled almost in its entirety during launch week. I couldn't tear myself away from reading all the discussions flying around and paid the price. This time I'm taking a DA forum hiatus. I just hope too much information isn't revealed prior to release or I'll have to dodge this forum too.

I'm not too bothered, really. I might not read a plot synopsis as such, but I'll happily look at details to see what may or may not happen.

I at least spared myself most of the story spoilers prior to DAO. There were some pictures that spoiled a bit *shakes fist at post game pic*.

I want to know about the setting and what happens prior to the game though.

It might actually be possible with this game, I don't know. With Mass Effect 2, to avoid spoilers you pretty much had to unplug your modem for 6 months because BioWare constantly put out spoilers for the game and within an hour those spoilers were all over every major gaming website that operates in English.

In any case, I'm not sure if I could resist following all of the spoilers anyway, so it probably doesn't matter. I really do hope that BioWare is a little more considerate when it comes to marketing and spoilers this time though. Going back to the Mass Effect 2 example, they completely spoiled the Dr. Okeer and Archangel recruitment missions. What a waste.

I tried that with FF13 and I really wish I had been more proactive with reading as much as I could about it. Would have saved me the $60 and prompted me to wait for a price reduction.

I usually follow the game pretty closely before release. So if they reveal possible companions or show a plot for a certain area I will see that, but I don't consider it big spoilers. As soon as the game comes out however I won't come close to the forums until I finish it.

Nope. I love spoilers. I like to know as much as I can before the release to see if I want to play the game or not.

I want to have a basic idea of the game, but I don't want to be spoiled about quest content and stuff like that. For example, seeing parts of the Brecilian Forest quest and the Broodmother before the release of DA:O was way too much for me, and took a lot of the enjoyment out of seeing them in the game itself. I will try to be more mindful about such spoilers when it comes to DA2, but right now I know too little to be careful :)

I can handle spoilers. Always have.

You knew the Titanic was going to sink and you saw the movie anyway. 'nuff said.

I watch the ending to every video game that I plan to buy. It's not a big deal, since the meat of most stories is in the middle, so I don't spoil myself too much.

I watched the DA ending before I bought it. Of course, the ending was text-based, so I wasn't really spoiled in any way whatsoever.

Wait, how is a moderator going to avoid spoilers?

Will try and will likely fail.

I did avoid the spoilers for DA:O for the most part and I have to say that it really does make the game much better when you don't know even the vaguest of details. I didn't know the names of any of the characters, didn't know any of the story until I played it and it was great.

However, I have a problem containing my anticipation for sequels, the same thing happened with Mass Effect, and I failed to contain my excitement for Mass Effect 2. The game was still good, but comparably I prefer to remain spoiler free.

Hell no. I have tried that route a few times, I just end up crawling back to the forums, scrounging for anything that will give me a kick.

well it isn't working too well for me anyway. I stuck around for the first few drops of disappointing info, which now forces me to stick around for info that might make the first few drops looks less bad.

There is something I must absolutely have to know. One detail, but it is pretty big.

And if I spoil the majority of the game in order to find out if this one detail is implemented in the way I think it is, then so be it.

I remember some weeks before the release of Dragon Age Origins asking the stupid question "Who the hell is Morrigan?!"

Got spoiled there... no fancy deal... mainly because I hate her.
