Given that this time you are some dude outside of Ferelden and hell bent on rising to power......whatever that may mean....becoming king/queen of whatever nation or perhaps a group of nations or somtheing along those lines. Anyhow off to my point......anyone else thinking that this new protagonist is the child conceived by one of the DAO wardens and Morrigan? The child that the spirit of Urthemiel went into when he was slain at the end of DAO.

Given that awakening has your warden alive upon import regardless of the ending choice it would appear that having your main character die in DAO is simply not something that sequels will take into consideration sort of like if Shepard dies in ME2 you just won't be able to import that save into ME3 since Shepard will be alive in ME3 regardless. So if they are going this route then there would probably be a child from Morrigan with the spirit of Urthemiel.

As for those that didn't go the route of the ritual well: Morrigan is smart, young and powerful as hell at the end of DAO regardless. I wouldn't think she'd just give up on having a child  with the soul of an old god. I'm sure she'd find a way.....discover the  location of another old god and another ritual. This is far from unexplainable.

Additionally Chris Priestly just confirmed that in DA2 we can only play as a human which further strenghtens this speculation: http://social.biowar...index/3052334/1

I hope the PC isn't Morrigan's child. Otherwise we can't choose our race.First no origins... and now no races?! Why Bioware?! Why?!

Moot point for me, because I'd play a Human anyway.

Seeing how you can end DA:O without having Morrigan conceive a child, I think its unlikely but I think Morrigan will likely make an appearance in some form

That was my first thought when I read the short description of the game.

Survival and power.. where did I hear that one before?

Oh right, my favorite witch loved to throw those lines around.

I believe we'll either play as Morrigan's child or the child will be a companion. Now if only Morrigan herself would be present as well...

how nice...however not important to remember

as for appearence...i don't think the playable char is the child of Morrigan..as he is a survivore..wich implies Morrigan is dead...and Bioware said they have plans for Morrigan

Read the WHOLE opening post. I already addressed why this may not be an option.

Um... You can end DA alive and well, with Morrigan not pregnant... And Awakening takes this ending into account too.

How can the PC be morrigans child when there was no child in the first place?

I don’t want Morrigan even mentioned in DA2. As she has no part in the my game

I'd like this too, but I know how popular Morrigan is because of her bewbs being so visible, so I doubt this would happen.

Edit: ME2? You mean DA2 right?! Because Morrigan sure as hell wasn't mentioned in Mass Effect 2.

So if we do see the Urthemiel reborn, who's going to be the father of the child?

There will be plenty of girls with bewbs in DA2 so i dont think we should worry on that score.

do you think this is her? (older and demon-corrupted after taking soul of archdemon)

It would be cool if she is main antagonist of sequel.

That could be read from an imported save or asked by the player in a gae start questionaire about the prequel....KotOR II style. Personally I'd have the father be the player character of DAO but that's just me.

Nah. Bioware makes suckish Female villains.

Now, dont get me wrong... I'd love a decent Female villain from Bioware, but I'd much prefer them to play it safe for this game.

it would be best if Morrigan or her child would never ever appear in any other DA game (she can have her DLC)

As I said in another thread, if you want to read in that concept/box/cover art, that male figure looks like he could belong in the Cousland family... It's grasping at straws, and whatnot, but hey, we're staring at that picture digging for any piece of speculation.

And I agree, save imports or TSL-like opening choices can solve that pretty easily. (My father was a....)

Also, what's with the Archdemon in the background?

I doubt that's an archdemon unless there's a blight again but I doubt it. I think it's just a dragon.....like the high dragon in DAO or that spirit dragon in Awakening.

Now that you mention it I think you may be right.....it allmost looks like the dragon is the guy's shadow hinting that inside his soul is that of a dragon.
