Following my explanation I wrote here: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/127/index/2530907 you know that every other game which has something like a keep surpasses the keep in DAA in every aspect. I hope it's getting FAR better for DA2.
But for now the most imporantant question is: will there be a stronghold or a keep you are in charge of?

A keep or strong hold would be interesting.

Stronghold would be nice, I liked that part of Baldurs Gate 2 very much.

oh yea keep and stronghold ... lets recycle NWN2 once more ... the recipe is simple lets take some random villager/refugee (check), with some dark past/fate/destiny unknown to him yet (check) and lets give him stronghold to take care off so he must fund it from his own pocket(check), since the taxes are just here so the inhabitants can complain, but the owner doesnt seen a penny (check) and lets the owner of the strongholt crawl through dungeons searching for ore like he is some kind of trained miner/prospector (check) .. yea trully heroic plan ...

^ I never said that the Keep should be availabe in your early levels, but it'd be nice once it starts in the middle portion of the game

Awakening stronghold had muted results. While it had the exact same amount of choices as a Baldur's Gate 2 stronghold the difference to me was choice. Other then the prison choice, I didn't feel the stronghold in DAA had any choice.
Nwn2 was not a awful stronghold, it was not the best but it did let you make some choices. What temple do you want, what tower do you want, etc.
I think the problem with any stronghold is they can't focus the entire game on it (like the Sukoiden series which has never won any awards for story to my knowledge) so it has to be somewhat limited.
Honestly I'd rather they do something more akin to Mass Effect 2's ship, where there are many 3-4 npcs who have interesting dialogue along the way, 1 or 2 sets of your npcs get into a fight, there's some ambient dialogue after certain quests, and you can perform some upgrades there.
I know not everyone would be happy with that set up, but if they made a castle, and put in those aspects, I'd be pretty happy.
It would certainly beat a random set of tents in the middle of no where.

It'd be good if we could upgrade it and do different choices with it which determine the survival of different characters and places.
Hopefully the choices we do in the first game also effect this game a little.

^ what polemists05 says +1
yes, the keep can function in many ways... and NOT as some stupid DLC or way underused expansion feature.
