The character (is it a main character) from GI has it, and the elf look alike character in the art section on the official Dragon Age site has it... so what's with that claw-like-hand?

I think that it's just a gauntlet.

Edit: And the one on the left is human according to her ears (if her look-alike in the concept art is her).

I'm guessing some kind of new darkspawn taint will be a part of the plot.

Edit: Might have something to do with the Architect and his goofy plans.

Or the story is so far in the future, potential dragon child had more children. Now Ferelden is populated by humans, half-dragon spawn and demon spawn.

Maybe the woman is some sort of abomination. But it's strange that the man, who is supposed to be the PC i guess, has a claw hand too. Does that mean our PC will have a claw hand too?

I really hope the plot isn't about darkspawn again, maybe it's about spirits from the fade.
