We now know what the box art for Dragon Age 2 looks like thanks to the official DA2 website. In fact, the same image is used as header of the said website. If you look at the dragon's wings, you'll notice that the bottom appears to have silhouettes of several people. I labelled sixteen, but there are probably three more there.



I wonder if all them are companions, or are there NPCs thrown in as well. Maybe they are all non-recruitable characters that play a major role in this sequel. They could also represent any player character we could create; the hero being Dragon Age's version of default male Shepard.

What do you think?

i like the idea of 16 companions even if it's a bit overkill....makes choosing harder

There's four more. One right on the left of the image, and 3 obscured by the Warden (one on his left, two on his right - so that's 2 on the left and one on the right for us), which makes 20. Doubt all 20'll be companions, but likely major plot characters if indeed they feature in the game at all.

I was wondering the same thing. Makes me anxious to see if they are going to be characters or just a clever silhouette for the wings.

I'm hoping for around 16 characters, but you can only have around 8 in one playthrough.

I think it has something to do with the 'rising to power' slogan...The last two look like children! So i think they could be civilians... 16 squadmates is overkill in my eyes.

cool catch, but there sure as hell won't be 20 companions, so who knows. could be NPCs, could be your character aging and changing, could be anything really.

I would imagine not. A bunch of blank white silhouettes would just look silly.

As long as they're well-fleshed out, I don't mind.

There might be 16 overall companions, ME2 had nearly that much anyways. Some of them might be mutually exclusive.
