Still no Multiplayer , Co-Op or otherwise?

thinking about other games that might benefit from some coordinated
action? Were Dragon Age or Mass Effect some of those games? Well,
BioWare co-founder and CEO Ray Muzyka is definitely considering it.
Muzyka
tells Video
Gamer that the company believes co-op "could make a great gameplay
experience."
"Sure, we would consider it. We haven't announced
anything on that front yet, but those are interesting ideas. They could
make a great gameplay experience. Whether we'll do them or not remains
to be decided," says Muzyka.
Taking into account that the bulk of
BioWare’s RPGs are tailor-made for engrossing single-player
experiences, Muzyka suggested that multiple players could detract from
the experience. "It might depend on how you do it... It's hard to weave a
great single-player storyline into a multiplayer experience,” he says.
“It's not impossible. We've done it, and we're doing it again now in
Star Wars: The Old Republic. But it is challenging."
From what
I’ve seen of The Old Republic’s dual-dialogue trees with multiple party
members, this definitely seems like a possibility. Anybody dreaming
about having a biotic-inclined buddy throw an enemy in the air for you
to gun down in co-op Mass Effect? I know I am.

That isn't quite true. Multiplayer was something that was dropped along the development cycle.ladydesire wrote...
The thing is, Bioware made the determination before they even started on the engine that DA wouldn't be a multi-player game, and since DA2 is using the same engine, DA2 won't be getting it.
I don't think it's an easy thing to add by any means, but seeing it being dropped again and again is killing me. I thought NWN2 would have sated me, but heightmaps might've been better on paper before you needed to download a few gigabytes worth of files to visit a world.

People have been bad on you guys for Dragon Age 2 because the character is new, because of how they think they know combat will be implemented, because of how they think role-playing elements will be.
Personally, I loved both art pics and I'm confident you'll do a great job. But why no multi

THank god no co op, Co op would be the most horrible thing. Bioware, never make a co op game
They did already, over a decade ago. Not having co-op was something that started with KotOR.

I'm so glad to hear this. If they had gone for a Multiplayer game it would really make me question this new game. I mean after everything I've heard so far this is at least some good news. Seriously why do people think every game needs multiplayer these days? I'd prefer well made single player game over a half-assed game with a multiplayer component.

We dont want multiplayer, because money that goes towards developing multiplayer is money that could've bettered singleplayer.

The last thing I need while having fun on a game, is some "pro-gamer" telling me that my character's point alignment and job combinations "are no good" because he and his uber friends like to play "this and that".
Don't feel like having to join guilds, or waiting for raid groups, I just want to play.
Don't feel like answering a gaggle-horde of questions for some jerk@ss who can't read a FAQ or manual on how to use abilities/spells.
I do not want to read obscene/racists/sexist/and teen agst shouts/tells/whispers/etc and witness virtual 'pissing' contests over the town chats.
Don't want to hear a million idiots ask me for gold.
I don't want to duel...
and I get sick and tired of arriving at a village to find that all the NPCs are dead.
If it ain't broke-- don't screw it over with multi-player or co-op.

I honestly like the game because it has no multi-player or co-op. I love dragon age because it looks and feels like a mulitplayer but without the BS of one.

Have you ever played Baldur's Gate or Baldur's Gate II multiplayer? Most people are just ignorant when it comes to how RPG greats like those (which were made by bioware btw) handled multiplayer and instead think that multiplayer = mmo.

How yes no.
Oh, it will be so "bettered". Which is visible from the brilliant news we got so far: the hero Hawke in the next epic Bioware movie. Yaaay singleplayer! *loud facepalm*

Will Dragon Age 2 still not have Co-Op play , or any sort of multiplayer similar to Neverwinter Nights ?
I've said it a million times, if you want multiplayer go somewhere else. Bioware is the last bastion we single player RPG fans have. (They are the best but still the only one really) Let us have that, take your multiplayer and go enjoy something else, please.

Where do you guys get this kind of info? Since when a game, just because it have co-op or mutliplayer, have a lame single-player? Make a list of those games and prove they have a lame campaign BECAUSE of multiplayer. I can think of a lot f games that were better because of co-op, not the opposite.
They way I see is that some games are just lame, and nothing can save them.
