I picked Dragon Age up on the 360 because it was made by BioWare which reminded me of KotOR so far I'm enjoying it even though I'm playing the console version

Anyways, the gaming community is so pessimistic on any future release.
It makes me wonder why the movie community is the opposite?
We need to find the balance between the two.

While there are multiple races in the game, like elves, dwarves, etc, in Dragon Age 2 you play a human character.
When will DA 3 come out? I think I'll skip DA 2, thanks.

Excuse me, but I don't understand something. Dragon Age in ideology was to be an old school cRPG game, like Baldur's Gate. In part this has been achieved, sometimes even improved (like origins of our characters). Yeah, story still was sucking hard, but you were on the right way. But now you're making ME like game - I want DA in old cRPG styl (and I think I'm not alone in this). If you like idea of ME, go developing ME3 and other games in this universe or create new.
Prove it. Use 3 facts that you have (with citations) to back up this assumption.

Right now PR people are writing first drafts of DLC announcements like this:
DA2 DLC Announcement - Play as x, the Elfin friend of Hawke. Learn how X's tale connects with Bioware's DA:O! What's his connection with the Wardens? Because the fans demanded it, the story will be told!
Release date: 3 months after DA2's release. Price: 800 spacebucks

1. Predefined character.
2. New combat mechanics ("Think like a general and fight like a Spartan with dynamic new combat
mechanics that put you right in the heart of battle whether you are a
mage, rogue, or warrior" - sounds like dynamic fights in TPP).
3. Cinematic experience, which is consequence of predefined character.
Of course, maybe it will be more diferrences between DA2 and ME than the universe. Now it's hard to say, but predefined character is step back for (in assumption) BG-like game. I'm waiting for more informations.

Now actually prove it without using vague descriptions. Like videos proving it and such. You know evidence... not vague descriptions posted on a website with no info.
But how about this. The Captain America is coming out. Chris Evans is Captain A. The movie takes place in the 1940's. From those 3 sentences explain to be without hyperbole and with full facts why the Captain America movie is going to be horrible and will be no different from Saving Private Ryan.
You probably can't. Which is my point. Sit and wait for actual information before passing judgement.

I absolutly disagree with this move, I understand that the origins took forever to create, but why make it so you can only play human ? does this allow you guys to make more origins or what ?
as of this moment I am dissapointed with were this is going, also I feel the use of voice acting severly limits potential dialogue choices as well as potential racial choices, and if that is the case why bend with common trend and put voiced dialouge in a game .
gah...whatever I'll wait until more detail comes out.. I just hope the don;t start using words such as "casual" and "
"streamlined" since both are euphimism for for appealing to a larger crowd so that there is more bang for the buck...
sorry for the tangent.. I usally don't go all "nerd rage" about gameplay changes

This is very disappointing, taking away the chance to experience the story from the viewpoint of different races. If it isn't too much trouble could I be informed of the reasoning behind the choice to remove the origin stories.
I would take it as confirmation that you do in fact get to play as Morrigans child, I always suspected this but I always wondered how they would implement dawrves and elves as PCs since Morrigan is human and any charcter would have to be either half dwarf, half elf or full human. The fact that you can only play as human confirms that you are Morrigans child.
huh well that makes sense... okey maybe I jumped to conclusion...well hopfully
anyways lore states that any human and elf would get a human offspring...thanks to elves adaptibility....as for dwarfs I have nooo Idea how that would work out it was never exp;ained in the game., I generally assumed that humans and dwarfs were ahem incompatible with each other...

Well, I said that I'm waiting for more informations and right now I'm not sure how it will be look like. But I can compare it with ME, because both games are from BioWare and idea of the character is very similiar.
And example with America is so stupid. There's a lot of movies set in time of II World War. Also movies aren't games, so we're not creating our characters. And last, I'm not a fan of CA

Same point though. Being that people taking a tiny bit of information and complaining. Is there an inherent difference in logic in doing that in movies/tv and video games that makes it perfectly acceptable?
And I was just kinda ragging on your previous point before you said waiting for more information.
But to continue on that train. You know who made Portal 2? Valve. They also made Left 4 dead 1 and 2. Explain to me how they will be exactly the same.

I hope this isn't a trend. X__X I don't want to be a human in every game! But I seriously doubt they'd ever have a predefined DWARF character. I can dream!
